Worth it! Our tour guide, Becca, was great! She was energetic, good at timing everything, and knew a TON about DC. She seemed to really enjoy being a guide. The tour itself is a lot of walking, but there is so much packed into the tour that it’s completely worth it. I highly recommend!

Great monument tour!

Kelly_P, Mar 2026
Greg was an excellent guide! From clear instructions as to where to meet and all the details during the tour! He was engaging and knowledgeable. Perfect tour for some monument and history background for my daughter's first time to DC and then went on our exploring the rest of the mall on our own.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Thank you! We're so glad you enjoyed the tour with Greg and that it was a great introduction for your daughter’s first visit to DC. We appreciate your kind words!

As some experience, highly recommend

There was four of us total, my husband, myself and my 8 and 11-year-old trevor was awesome. It was a three hour tour hitting the national mall and all the major monuments. Spending enough time but not too much also because we had younger kids. Trevor was amazing. He was knowledgeable and interactive with the entire family. We also were able to get to the top of the monument which was a surprise.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Thank you! We're so glad your family enjoyed the tour with Trevor and that it was engaging for both kids and adults. What a great surprise getting to the top of the monument too!

Vicky was great and very knowledgeable. We learned a lot and enjoyed her story about her family which tied into our tour. The only bad was the govt shutdown which prevented us from going into the Washington Monument which was out of anyone's control.

Thank you! We're so glad you enjoyed the tour with Vicky and appreciated her personal stories. Sorry about the shutdown affecting the Monument visit, but we're happy the rest of the tour was memorable!

Americans Touring Nations Captial

Jon_M, Sep 2025
We had Vicky as our tour guide. We attended the tour to learn about our nation's history, however our tour guide, Vicky, knew very little about American history and was sharing all about German history. Struck me as well we were told as a group we could not talk politics! This is America and we have freedom of speech. We are all respectful adults with differing opinions to be told we couldn't talk about something was disheartening, after all we are in our nations capital taking a tour of political monuments! We requested our tickets to the monument so that we could go off on our own due to that. Vicky assumed it was because it was a lot of walking. Wrong! Vicky stated "you paid for the tour with me not the tickets". However, she did allow us to go off on our own and meet up to go in the Washington monument with our tickets that she held. We did pay for the tickets, we may have paid extra for the shabby tour with her, but we did pay for our monument tickets. They were included in the price. Every other guided tour we took the tour guide knew about the history of the monuments and was able to point out pertinent details that you would not know on your own. This one differed. To be fair, she was personable and polite as a person. In my humble opinion, if you want to give guided tours of Washington D.C. monuments, learn about American history.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

While we’re sorry to hear your experience did not meet expectations, we’d like to clarify a few points. Vicky is one of our experienced guides, with many years of studying and leading tours on American history and the D.C. memorials and with incredible reviews. Your comment that her tour is mostly German history is incorrect and unfounded as you decided to skip more than 3/4 of the tour. She begins each tour by sharing a bit of her background, as Washington, D.C. is an international city that welcomes people from all over the world. We’re proud of our diverse team of guides who bring both expertise and passion to telling the story of our nation’s capital. Regarding political discussions: all of our guides remind groups that memorials are places of reflection and respect, not political debate. This ensures all guests can have a meaningful experience, especially at sensitive sites like the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. At no point were you told you could not say something nor was your freedom of speech limited.  You also mentioned the Washington Monument tickets. As a policy, tickets are only provided as part of the walking tour experience. In this case, as a courtesy, we made an exception so you could rejoin the group later. Because you did not participate in most of the tour, you unfortunately missed much of the historical content and context Vicky provides. We’re glad you found Vicky personable and polite, and we’re confident that had you stayed for the full tour, you would have experienced the depth of her knowledge and storytelling. We remain committed to offering thoughtful, accurate, and inclusive tours that honor the history of our nation’s capital.

Viewing the National Mall with Vicky

Sharell_M, Sep 2025
I loved the knowledge that Vicky had regarding all the monuments that we visited. It goes beyond with what’s in the history looks.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thanks! So glad you enjoyed Vicky’s deep knowledge—it really adds so much to the monument experience!

10 stars for INGEBORG

Joan_H, Aug 2025
I feel compelled to leave a review because Ingeborg was one of the best, if not the best, tour guides I have ever run into. Her research, storytelling and pleasant demeanor were incredible.

Response from Host, Aug 2025

That’s such high praise — thank you! Ingeborg will be thrilled to hear your kind words about her storytelling and knowledge.

Our walk around the monuments

Kerrie_H, Aug 2025
Great overview of the monuments with lots of historical detail. Andres kept things moving along so we didn’t miss out on anything. We had a small group which made it easy to hear everything being said and lots of time at each stop for photos. It’s hard to select any highlights as each monument was so impressive.

Response from Host, Aug 2025

Thank you for your kind words! We’re so glad you enjoyed the tour with Andres and that the small group made for such a great experience. Sounds like a memorable visit to the monuments!

Melissa_J, Aug 2025
Our tour was lead by a great guide. It was scheduled for a really hot day, and the tour company contacted us the day before to move it up an hour. Even with the adjusted time, the Washington Monument still closed an hour earlier than it's initial early closing notice. The situation was out of our guide's control and the tour company did everything right to try and avoid the situation in the first place. But the tour was a great value nonetheless. I really enjoyed the experience and would recommend it. It's way better than just walking to the monuments yourself and saying, "Well, that looks cool". Having context for why they are important and why they are designed as they are made for a very meaningful day. Thank you so much for a great experience.

Response from Host, Aug 2025

Appreciate your thoughtful review! Even with the schedule change, glad you enjoyed the tour and found the history and context so meaningful.

Excellent. Michaela was a very friendly tour guide and gave us a lot of history.

Marietta_R, Aug 2025
You learn lots of new facts about the places. Also a lot of history and how the statues and places were built and when.

Response from Host, Aug 2025

It’s wonderful to hear you enjoyed learning so many new details and the history behind the places and monuments. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Wonderful way to visit the National Mall

Verena_T, Aug 2025
Vicky was wonderful. So much information that we wouldn't have known of should we had done this walk on our own.

Response from Host, Aug 2025

Thank you for the lovely feedback! We're thrilled you enjoyed the walk with Vicky and found her insights enriching.

Great information and watch the monument tickets

STEVE_P, Aug 2025
This is a good way to get a lot of the insight information on some of the mall attractions. Getting tickets to the Washington Monument is hard and that’s a big bonus to this tour.

Response from Host, Aug 2025

Glad you enjoyed the tour! It’s definitely a great way to learn more about the Mall.

Saree_O, Jul 2025
It hit a lot of the highlights along the National Mall as well as entry to the Washington Monument. We were having a hard time getting the free tickets online & opted to pay for peace of mind. Our guide, Greg, was born & bred here in DC and was excellent & very considerate of the group with the 90+ degree heat.

Response from Host, Aug 2025

Thanks for the kind words! We're glad the tour hit the highlights and that Greg’s local knowledge and care made the hot day more enjoyable.

Vicky shows us the monuments in style. Recommended.

Erwin_A, Jul 2025
Thorough review of the monuments covered and well worth it. I learned a lot. The experience deepened even further my appreciation of these monuments. The length of the tour was just right and the energy needed is manageable by probably anyone. I do recommend carrying water. Vicky, our guide was top notch. As well as being an authority on each monument, she was also able to advise on which were the best restrooms. I really appreciated that. Side note - because of illness we were not able to make the tour on the original date and so had to cancel and expected to forfeit the fee. Very surprised that the company t reached out to us to offer another day. Top notch service.

Response from Host, Jul 2025

Thank you! We're so glad you enjoyed the tour with Vicky and appreciated the flexibility and service. Hope you're feeling better!
