This was a fun and informative adventure! Our guide gave a great knowledgeable tour as we drove to the musher area. The dogs were so cute.

We’re so glad you enjoyed the adventure! It’s wonderful to hear your guide made the trip to the musher area fun and informative—and that the dogs melted your heart. Thanks for joining us!

It was a great experience to do the the family. The shuttle driver, Denise, was awesome and her dad jokes are next level. Plus she had great historical knowledge to drop on us.
The puppies are so cute and full of life. The professional musher was generous with his time and answered all of our grandson's questions. Plus no day us bad with puppies.
The surroundings are fantastic and very peaceful to be in. All in all a great adventure.

Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful family experience! Denise’s dad jokes and historical tidbits always add a special touch — we’ll be sure to let her know. We’re thrilled the puppies and musher made such a great impression, and that you enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. Hope to see you all back for more adventures!

We had the best experience! We were a small group so we got to hold the puppies longer and go inside the “shark tank” with the 3 month old playful biters. The s’mores were great too and they have hot chocolate for purchase!

The ride to the camp was informative with beautiful views. There was a waterfall that was neat. Mushers camp presentation was done by a newbie who may have just been nervous. Presentation was poorly done.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're glad to hear that you mostly enjoyed the experience, but we are sorry that the presentation was poorly done. We have addressed this with our team and will work on improving the quality of the presentation to ensure a more enjoyable and informative experience for our guests.

Nothing more lovable than puppies. However, the puppies well-being is in direct opposition to humans (particularly kids) enjoying meaningful interaction with them. Hundreds of daily visitors means 15-30 seconds of holding an adorable pup for each kid. Hardly satisfying.
It's a dusty 30 minute ride from port to the dogs with occasional stunning vistas. Patrick, our driver guide was personable and informative. The musher's talk was interesting but not memorable. Our grandchildren (8 & 11) thought the highlight was a brief walk to a beautiful waterfall behind the camp.
If you're wondering why the operator has a no refund policy unlike 99% of tours on Viator it's because if you think about it $125 pp is a lot for what you actually get.
This tour is only for the most ardent of dog lovers and even they could end up frustrated with the very limited interactions. Everyone else can find a better use of 3 hours in Skagway.

Hi Whitney, we appreciate you taking the time to leave your feedback. I am sorry to hear that you had an unpleasant experience with your purchase of our tour. Our tours are on a structured timing schedule in order to accommodate everyone, and the groups are designated approximately 20 minutes for the puppy interaction portion. If your time with them was cut short for any reason, I apologize for that and will look into it further. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed your time with Patrick and the stroll to the waterfall. If you would like to discuss your experience, please reach out to our office directly. Thank you.

My friend and I loved this excursion. Denise our driver and guide was great and we met Ryan Redington grandson of Lloyd who founded the Iditarod race-fascinating! The valley where this camp is located is beautiful and I felt I learned a lot about the life style of the racing culture and Alaskan people.

I would highly recommend this tour to everyone. Truly an informative and lovely experience. Alaska Excursions is amazing and the Redington family was so welcoming and lovely.
