Itinerary
Meet your guide and head to the Colosseum to explore the highlights of Rome's most famous ancient site. Put on an audio headset for easy listening and spend the next 90 minutes learning about the history of the amphitheater from your guide as you visit the first and second levels.
Then head over to the Roman Forum for the second part of your tour, enhanced with live commentary from your guide. After around 45 minutes exploring the forum, head up to Palatine Hill, the final stop on your tour. Wrap up your tour by admiring the ruins and learning about how Rome was founded.

What a magnificent tour this was.
Our guide was outstanding and knew everything there was to know about the Coliseum and history of Rome. It was a blisteringly hot day and he never lost any steam!
I was not prepared for just how immense the Coliseum OR Roman Forum would be, there's just so much to see. Even just in the Forum alone.
Such an incredible way to see an insane place of history.

Sergio was an awesome tour guide! Crown tours was extremely organized. We arrived on time, got ear pieces that worked well and had an awesome tour. I booked it early at 8am and we were one of the first groups on the arena floor. Awesome experience highly recommend. Our guide was very knowledgeable and easy to follow. Group was only 10-15 ppl!

The tour was great and the tour guide was exceptional. She was very informative and kind. I will say that there are a lot of steps during the tour and the heat is extreme in June, so plan accordingly.

This tour was great! The colosseum and Roman forum were beautiful and it was fascinating to learn the history. Our tour guide Leo was incredible, he was entertaining and full of knowledge, he even helped us get to a lunch place after the tour! I would highly reccomend.

Such an amazing experience! This is an incredibly executed tour. Our guide was an archeologist working on-site in the forum; it doesn’t get more authentic than that. She was knowledgeable, funny, and patient. Everything was fascinating.

The small group was very nice to have. Our tour guide provided a lot of history of the forum that we wouldn’t have known otherwise. Note that once you get into the colosseum, the tour is done and you explore it on your own. Bring lots of water, the forum is in full sun, and good shoes for the cobblestones.

Be prepared to have extreme difficulty finding the Crown Tour office. The route is impossible to understand or follow. We left ourselves over an hour to get to the meeting place and still missed our tour. I am requesting a full refund for the lack of professionalism displayed by this company. Avoid at all costs. Offered more expensive alternative or self guide which required a familiarity with the locations. Terrible service.

Be aware if you are not there 20min advance they leave you. My son had stomach issues and we had to stop twice and took a bit to get there I reached out on text multiple times and got there exactly on the hour and they already left. The staff was rude when I arrived I was drenched in sweat after running there with three kids trying to make our time. They tried to charge me another $100 euro to get a private tour. They wouldn't push our group to the next tour.

Colosseum tickets have a specific timed entrance, which is why we ask guests to arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled tour time. Once the group has departed, it can be very difficult to reconnect late arrivals or move them to another tour, as entry times are strict.

😬 A Colossal Mistake at the Colosseum
It was not at all what I expected, and honestly, the whole visit turned out to be a colossal mistake.
From the moment you enter, you realize that most of the Colosseum is sectioned off unless you’re willing to pay even more. The “good stuff” — the areas you imagine from documentaries and photos — is blocked behind upgraded-ticket barriers. What you can access feels like the bare‑minimum version of the experience.
Then comes the so‑called museum section. In theory, it should be interesting. In reality, you’re shoved through it like livestock in a corral. There’s no time to read, appreciate, or even glance at the displays because the crowd behind you is constantly pushing forward. It’s claustrophobic, chaotic, and completely joyless.
There is no crowd control whatsoever. They pack people in as long as the herd keeps moving. At times, there wasn’t even room to breathe, let alone stop and take in the history of the place.
The only positive thing I can say is this: I can now say I did it. But I absolutely cannot say I enjoyed it.

The Colosseum has several different access areas, and sections such as the Arena Floor or Underground require specific ticket types, as they are managed separately by the monument. We understand this can be disappointing if guests expect access to all areas with a standard guided tour ticket.

This is a good solid tour of the Forum, the Pallentine Hill and the Collesseum. We enjoyed it. It is a little bit too commercialized but it was good overall for a large group tour. Very organized.

Great tour good tour guide only bad part about it was trying to leave the colosseum. Amazing that the Romans could build it in 8 years and the modern Italians cant figure out how to put correct exit signs

We did this tour with Crow Tours in 2024 and we got to walk all of the Colosseum and the Forum. But this time, in 2026, our tour of the Forum was only 100 feet into the site. We asked our tour guide if we were going into the Forum and to visit Cesar’s burial site and he said that it’s too much walking and we can’t go inside. We only walked to the first monument before being pushed away to go to the Colosseum next.
Why did we spend so much money for this if we only saw the entrance of the Forum?? We felt ripped off and would not do this tour again with Crowd Tours. Sorry not sorry.

Paid $251 for what I thought was a tour. When I arrived they told me that was just admission. If I wanted a tour I needed to pay $173 more. So way more than I thought I would pay. This for 5 tix
