Our tour of the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum was excellent. Despite heavy rain and a few challenging personalities in the group, our guide, Aphrodite, remained engaging, informative and professional throughout. She shared clear, insightful explanations that helped us truly understand the history and significance of each site. Her knowledge and positive attitude made the experience enjoyable even under less-than-ideal conditions. Highly recommended.

The trip instructions & communication sent through from Viator were very good. The trip was subcontracted to Rutas Romanas, our guide (Max) was so knowledgeable on the history of Rome & explained it in a way that you could imagine how it must have felt being there. Visiting this site & the Vatican should only be done with a professional guide, as they are able to give so much more information on things that you'd just walk past.

We had a fantastic tour of the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill with Sandro. He was knowledgeable, clear, and genuinely engaging without overwhelming us with facts. Sandro explained the history in a way that was easy to follow, with great stories and context that brought ancient Rome to life. He was patient, happy to answer questions, and paced the tour well, especially in busy areas. We came away with a much deeper understanding of the sites and really enjoyed the experience. Highly recommend Sandro if you want an informative and enjoyable Roman history tour.

Great experience. Leo was excellent, patient, and knowledgeable. The tour starts in the colosseum and ends in the forum. You can stay there and explore on your own as long as you want. The group bypasses long lines and fast tracks through security.

Our Viator / TripAdvisor tour was great and well worth the ticket price. Our guide, Julia, was super! She was very knowledgeable and friendly, we learned a lot from her - she made the whole experience very enjoyable. And, as you see the lines of people waiting to get in .. skipping the line is also a great benefit!

Amazing Sites, A Little Rushed & a Nice Surprise

The sites were absolutely amazing! Our tour guide was very passionate, but I frequently felt rushed and things seemed glossed over. For example, in the Palatine we noticed another tour group opening a tiny metal door and sniffing, exclaiming that it smelled like flowers. We walked right past it. I do understand that the site is so expansive that they have to pick and choose what to present, but it felt like it missed the mark. Also, I felt like our tour guide's passion didn't directly translate into receiving a ton of interesting information. One thing I will say I was very pleased with is that they surprised the group with the opportunity to go onto the Colosseum floor. This was not originally supposed to be part of the tour. It may have been the reason for rushing earlier in the tour. My husband and I were thrilled with this as we were not able to find tickets for this ahead of time.
