The Vatican Museums or the Basilica may decide to close these sites on short notice due to official events or religious proceedings. In the event of any unexpected developments, we are unable to foresee or control these closures in advance. However, your ticket will still grant you access to the Vatican Museums.
- Visitors with a certified disability of more than 76% do not require a ticket.
- It is not possible to join the tour with a stroller unless it is foldable.
- Please note: Michelangelo’s “The Last Judgment” on the altar wall of the Sistine Chapel is scheduled for an extraordinary maintenance and conservation intervention starting in January 2026, with scaffolding covering the wall for several months. Although the chapel remains open to visitors, the scaffolding will partially obscure the fresco during this period.

Fred our tour guide was great, knowledgeable (an archeogist by trade) great humour and very informative. The tour was organized, easy to navigate, their offices are right next to the museum entrance. Pricing was very fair compared to others. We did the full tour including st Peter's Basilica, that was the highlight for us. Thanks Fred from us in Vancouver Canada

The only way to go especially for the first visit, getting an explanation by a guide like Fred makes a huge difference than wondering around hoping you learn something, skipping the line alone makes it worth it. Do the tour you will not regret it.

Excellent tour of Vatican. Knowledgeable guide who pointed out interesting art and sculptures that were not the most well known pieces. Kept group together and gave sufficient time to look at the art.

Well worth the money. Excellent guide to show us around, think her name was Julia? museum was amazing, the sistine Chapel incredible and also the basilica. Would highly recommend this tour. We were on the tour for 2.45 hours. At the end of the tour you can spend as much time as you like inside the basilica.

Very disorganized. People crowded around inside and out of small office, no person or signage to organize, caused us to be late for start of tour. Rushed us to meet up with group and assured us we didn’t miss anything then throughout tour guide referenced things he’d told them earlier. Labeling of tour on viator site is deliberately ambiguous, lists many options but then limited options populate. All in all, could have derived more and been much less stressed with the good old fashioned audio recorded tour.

Our tour guide spoke excellent English and added a great sense of humor throughout the experience. I gained far more insights this time compared to the tour I joined two years ago through a cruise ship. We really enjoyed the 16th chapel and the Vatican was incredible, one of the most impressive places on earth. Definitely recommend doing the early 8am tour.
We were guided in, and our tour guide was very knowledgeable and easy to follow. She helped us view all the things throughout the museum and also gave us a good history of the place.
Overall, we really enjoyed it once we got to the Saint Peter's basilica. I wish we were shown a lot more in depth, but otherwise, the tour was really good. Would highly recommend it, and you shouldn't be missing this!

Such a great tour led by Susanna (from Inside Out) on 10/21. There are a lot of people inside the museums and too crowded. Sadly we didn’t enjoy it as much as we could have. How can they allow so many groups and tours? What about people safety and of people feel unwell. My partner did and this wasn’t good. The tour guide was fantastic can’t fault her but far too many people and it ruined experience especially Sistine chapel.

The tour was great, our guide, Marta, was very knowledgeable and organized. The day we went on the tour, so did every other tourist in Europe, it was elbow to elbow 95% of the time. Even so, Marta kept the tour going and we didn’t lose anyone.
