Exceptional tour. It was clear Oscar knew the Vatican tour inside and out. There is so much to learn and he was like your history professor in college who knew interesting and funny side stories - even kept our two teenagers interested even in big crowds and hot weather. Definitely recommend. Very professional, thorough and loved the smaller group. EvoArt and Oscar is the best.

I really enjoyed this tour - Sarah was a great guide and very knowledgeable. We were running a bit late due to heavy traffic on the way and the guides and tour company were fantastic about communicating and were overall helpful in getting us to the right spot with the rest of the tour. A great tour of the Vatican museum, Sistine Chapel, and other landmarks - highly recommend!

A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. Knees and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements.

Check-in is 15 minutes prior to the booked start time. Tickets are time sensitive and we cannot accomodate late arrivals.
Important: St. Peter's Basilica is not included in all tour options. If you wish to visit the Basilica as part of your experience, please ensure you select a tour where it is explicitly listed as included.
Guests with a certified disability of over 75% are entitled to free entrance to the Vatican and do not require a ticket. For guests who are not self-sufficient, free entry is extended to a companion.
Please include all names as they appear on your passports when booking. Tickets are non-transferable and if the names on your booking do not match your ID you may be denied access and will not be due a refund. Any name changes must be communicated at least 72 hours in advance.
Please bring official ID with you (or a photo/photocopy).
Important: The ‘Basilica Only’ option it does NOT include access to the Vatican Museums.
Important: From January 12 to March 31, 2026, conservation work will be carried out on Michelangelo’s Last Judgment (Giudizio Universale). The Sistine Chapel will remain open to visitors; however, the fresco will be temporarily not visible due to scaffolding. We thank you for your understanding during this important preservation project.

Best Way to Tour the Vatican

While it was difficult to find the group initially, the tour guide was very thorough and knowledgeable. It only took 2 hours but that was good enough for us. Being such a hot day it was about all we could handle anyway. Learned a lot and got to see the Sistine Chapel.

Our guide Sara was knowledgeable about more than each stop. She set up the tour giving us a larger picture of the history and events of different periods of the Vatican which helped us better appreciate the important events of the history of the Vatican. We can’t say enough that booking this tour get you in and moving , not having to wait in line for hours. Sara keep our small group of 10 engaged and moving while conscious of need for breaks. It’s worth a little sweat to see this wonder!

An astounding place to visit during any trip to Rome. But be warned! In the summer there is no air conditioning so be prepared. It’s a lot of walking. Bring water. Then, enjoy the art and history! Our guide Martina was knowledgeable, funny and professional. I especially loved her history of the Sistine Chapel. Meeting up with all my Viator guides throughout Italy has been so simple. There was a lot of people the whole time so be prepared for crowds. Don’t go on a Wednesday if you want to see the basilica as they have mass and it’s closed. Our guide Enzo was great.

A few minutes after the group departed, you contacted us to inform us that you had lost sight of the guide shortly after the group crossed the street at the beginning of the tour. We also understand that you entered the Vatican Museums independently and were already inside before the guide and the rest of the group entered. As soon as you contacted us, we immediately informed the guide, who was made aware that you were waiting inside the Vatican Museums. This tour is worth every penny for many reasons, but mostly for the skipping the line tickets and also, to walk for those long corridors full of history and art with a guide. Our guide was very professional, knowledgeable, she is passionate about the history, art, and architecture of the basilica. Very efficient check in, skipped all lines and the express tour was the perfect choice. Assunta our guide was excellent! Extremely knowledgeable, and had the groups best interests in mind at all times. We stopped by selected highlights, and the 1.5 hour length was perfect. Convenience and expertise of the guide 10/10

We could not imagine another way we would have done a Vatican tour. Everything about the tour exceeded our expectations and we were both continually in awe as we moved from room to room and building to building. Our tour guide, Oscar, was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging throughout the tour, while also making sure no one was lost or wondering where to go next. His navigation and advice made a tour on a busy holiday feel far less crowded than it actually was. If the price looks somewhat expensive, it is because of the value that you get back in the expertise of the guide, the convenience of the tour, and the spectacular sites you get to see. Simply put, well worth the time and money.
