Disappointed that the original tour we booked was changed at the last minute on us. We booked the guided tour of the Roman Coliseum from the gladiators' entrance with optional walking/unguided tour of the Roman Forum. The company at our arrival to the meeting spot confirmed our original tour but then changed it to guided tour of the Forum and the unguided tour of the Coliseum. The tour guide was also 45 minutes late and he appeared to be a last-minute substitute. He did a great Forum Tour and even mentioned he was not aware the tour specifics were reversed. Our first time family member traveling member to Rome really wanted to learn about the Coliseum. This was very disappointing for everyone besides our family who paid for the tour who had originally signed up with the intent to learn about the Coliseum.

Sandro was a brilliant guide. He knew the answer to every question we asked. His knowledge was fantastic. He showed us the Colosseum in an interesting and sometimes funny light. Great experience. We would definitely recommend doing this tour and Sandro was the icing on the cake.

Although the Colosseum Tour was very good, and our Guide Georgia was excellent, the 4:15pm Tour did not leave time for the Forum/Palatine Hill section of the tour. This was not indicated on the booking website, and we did not have time to visit the additional sites the next day. Recommended, but consider morning/early afternoon tours for complete experience.

However, we would like to clarify for you and future travelers: Our Colosseum Guided Tour focuses solely on the Colosseum (first and second levels). It does not include the Roman Forum or Palatine Hill. Those sites require a separate ticket or a longer, combined tour. We apologize if the booking website was unclear about this. We will review the product description to ensure it explicitly states that the Forum and Palatine are not included in this specific tour.
You are correct that a 4:15pm tour would leave little time for additional sites. For a full experience that includes the Forum and Palatine, we recommend our morning or early afternoon Colosseum, Roman Forum & Palatine Admission with Audio Guide App or a longer guided combination tour.

Others should be aware that if you book a trip to start at 15:00 and on the day you get a message stating the trip starts at 15:30 then when you get there they give you a ticket stating the tour starts at 15:45 - it’s a scam.
That’s because there is not enough time left to finish the tour and they tell you to do that bit the next day. However, as we were going home the next day that was not possible. If that had been explained when we originally booked we would have requested a reduced price. We paid 70 euros more than the ticket price.

We respectfully disagree that this was a "scam" or a "rip off." Here is why:
1. All timing information was provided in advance
The entry time for the Roman Forum was clearly stated in the product description online at the time of booking.
We also sent a reminder with the meeting point and timing details before the tour date.
2. The tour ran exactly as scheduled
Meeting time: 15:00 (check-in, radio distribution, ticket handover)
Colosseum gate pass: 15:30 (within the official 15-minute flexibility)
Ticket entry time (15:45) is an administrative slot, not the tour start time
The guided tour begins at 15:00 with exterior history and storytelling
3. Other guests on the same tour had no issues
In fact, other members of your same group gave the tour 5-star reviews, confirming that the experience was delivered as described.
4. Pricing is transparent
You paid for a full guided tour — including skip-the-line access, a licensed guide, headsets, coordination, and both exterior/interior guiding. The entry ticket price printed on your ticket is only a small part of what we sell. Anyone wanting only that ticket can wait in the official ticket office line.
Conclusion
We are sorry that you could not join the Forum portion due to your next-day departure, but that limitation was never communicated to us at the time of booking. Our tour was provided exactly as advertised and clearly described online and in reminders.
We take your feedback seriously but stand behind the quality and accuracy of our tour.

Regarding the price: at £37.22 per person, this includes skip-the-line Colosseum entry tickets, a live professional guide, personal radio devices to hear the commentary clearly, and all taxes—everything included. We believe this represents excellent value for a complete, hassle-free experience.
That said, we understand that everyone's experience is subjective, and we take all feedback seriously. We're sorry if the pacing felt rushed to you or if you had difficulty hearing at times. We will remind our guides to be mindful of these factors, especially in busy areas.

No signage provided by the tour company to identify themselves. While our tour guide was knowledgeable, he spoke a million miles an hour making it difficult to absorb any real info. The tour was advertised for 2.25hrs. The 'guided' part of the tour of the colosseum lasted about an hour. A disappointing, very expensive way to see the Colosseum.

Tour felt rushed
Meeting point given, was accurate and easy to find. However, in an extremely crowded area with not enough signage.
Tour began a little later than scheduled and was very rushed.
The ticket included entry to 2 other "venues". We expected we would be directed there, however, we were just told that we had 24 hours to use our tickets to do it on our own

The tour guide was excellent. The money grabbed from Viator not so much… when we booked the activity, we accidentally put the same name twice as the attendees. Viator was more than happy to charge €18 to go into their computer and fix that problem.

We understand your frustration with the €18 charge and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience it caused. We want to assure you that this was not a profit-making fee. The Colosseum has a non-negotiable rule: ticket names must match government-issued ID. The ticket issued with the duplicate name was void and would have been rejected at the entrance.
To prevent you from missing your tour, our staff personally intervened after hours to purchase a new, valid ticket on your behalf. The €18 (+VAT) was the exact cost we were charged for this replacement ticket. While we regret the extra cost, this was the only way to guarantee your entry, and we are truly glad we could assist in ensuring your visit to Rome was a success.We truly hope our efforts to resolve the issue are recognized and appreciated.
If our team had not identified the problem the night before, you would not have been able to enter the Colosseum on the day of your tour — unfortunately, this happens quite often with other operators and individual visitors, and in such cases, refunds are not possible.
Our only goal was to ensure you could still enjoy your visit without disappointment, and we’re glad we were able to make that happen for your tour.
