I had a blast. The tour guide was very kind, entertaining, and a great story teller. The bike shop is very cool, the owners/tour guides are the kindest. The experience felt very personal and the tour was an intimate look into the history of Maine.

The guides are very personable. Just renting bikes would not do the area justice. There are so many interesting stories to hear about the sites.

I booked the 2 hour guided tour to 2 lighthouses with 5 other friends and family members who were on a cruise that stopped in Portland, Maine. I really wanted to do the longer tour, but a couple members of our group hadn't been on a bike in a while, so we went with the shorter version. Everyone had a great time, one of them saying it was the highlight of her trip. The ride was very easy, just a couple of gentle climbs, and mostly very flat on a bike path that wound through parks and scenic areas. Ian was our tour guide and kept us at a liesurely pace with which everyone was comfortable. He also did a good job of signaling at intersections and through a couple of traffic areas. He stopped at key locations to share historical, geological, and local information. He also interacted with us as we rode to answer our questions and point out other key points. Everyone loved his "chill" and humorous presentation and his grasp of Portland history. We saw the two lighthouses as advertised, but also got to see a 3rd lighthouse, Portland Head Lighthouse, from a distance. We also got to see wetlands, several Civil War fort structures, and a memorial to the Victory ships that were built in Portland during World War 2. He gave us plenty of time to walk around at the key sites. The total distance was exactly 7 miles, and it went by very fast. I would recommend to anyone, and plan to come back for the longer ride next time.

The bikes were great& mostly flat bike paths with very few hills . Great tour for everyone! Loved seeing south Portland with no crowds or heavy traffic. Beautiful views and plenty of info about the area & coastline

It takes about 30 minutes to walk from the cruise terminal. However, it was worth to bike on the south of Maine because most if not all lighthouses are on the south side. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The ride was easy without city traffic.

This was the kickoff to our honeymoon, and we could not have made a better choice! We got started early, so we were able to see a few extra spots along the way. I could not recommend this enough!
I was nervous that I couldn’t keep up with the pace, but the route was very manageable and there were plenty of stops along the way. We had amazing views of the port and the historic spots along the coast.
We had so many excellent recommendations from our guide for the rest of our stay, too!

Easy 5 mile ride on a good multi-speed bike stopping at historic and scenic spots. Kathy was a great guide and the whole Lighthouse Bike's staff were easy going, a pleasure to meet and work with.

Such an amazing way to explore the city!! We learned so much history and felt that this was THE way to see the lighthouses of Portland (didn’t have to worry about parking, such a stress relief!). We felt this tour was perfect and were glad we didn’t opt for the longer one as we were getting a bit tuckered out by the end… So if you can, absolutely do this tour!!

Had a great tour. Our guide, Jack, did an amazing job. Very knowledgeable! We made several stops, and it was not too strenuous for the older folks in our group. If you are going to Portland, I highly recommend this tour. My wife and I had a great time. Wonderful way to start the day with a morning bike tour.

I loved seeing the lighthouses and hearing the history of Portland and Maine, in general. Jack was very knowledgeable and had his own personal experiences to share along the way. As an inexperienced rider, he was very patient! I had a great time.

Steve was a great tour guide and had many stories about the history of the area and lighthouses as we saw the different sites. The bikes were well-maintained and comfortable. I have 18 year old and 15 year old daughters that were with us, and they loved every moment of it as well. Highly recommend this tour!
