Great cruise to see the lighthouses! Carl was a very entertaining guide! It does get cold on the water, especially after sunset, so dress accordingly. Highly recommended!!

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The other staff was extremely friendly as well. The scenery was beautiful and sunset gorgeous! It was also very nice to have snacks and beverages available for purchase.

It was raining & windy. This cruise should have been cancelled! We were unable to see the sites the narrator was describing since the windows were completely fogged. We had made the reservations way ahead of time, so because of the weather that day, we expected to hear the cruise was cancelled. It wasn’t. The ride was also rough because of high waves. So it was a waste of time and money and a complete disappointment. In fair weather it would have been a nice activity.

The sunset cruise was just what we hoped for. John shared so much interesting information about the lighthouses and islands we passed, lobstering, and local history; and Howard skillfully navigated usamong the islands and then positioned us to see a beautiful sunset. He also found some rocks where seals and cormorants were resting. Sit on the right side for the best views. Arrive early to get an outside seat on the top deck and dress very warmly.

Unfortunately this wasn’t a fit for my husband and I.
There were multiple photo ops of various lighthouses which was nice & the staff was very courteous. But the narrator rambled a lot. Interjecting his opinion on various subjects often drifting from topic. He hardly took a breath, which made for a long boat ride. Again, nice staff, just not a fit for us.

Lovely experience with great crew! The water ways and sites are beautiful.
Parking lots mentioned in experience summary have early entry closure so make sure to check the parking hours. Then go extra early if you have a sunset cruise and want to use the suggested lots. Lot entry closed at 2 pm and 3 pm and we cruised at 5 pm.

If you sit near the back it is hard to hear. The cruise was great, sites are awesome. Very accommodating , did not disappoint!

Carl, the tour guide/historian was phenomenal! He was hilarious, too. All of the staff was absolutely amazing. It was beautiful and so enjoyable. If going in September or later, dress warm. Haha 10/10 recommend

Great cruise. Our tour guide was a local and provided great insight as well as being a hoot.We had perfect weather - but it does cool down once the sun goes down.

Boat was definitely bare bones, but the person giving the tour was interesting to listen to and the scenery was pretty. We got lucky and had a beautiful sunset. I would warn you, there are only a certain amount of spots at the top of the boat, and if you aren't on first, you'll have to sit underneath(they have windows, but it definitely is a subpar view). Lucky we were far enough up in line, but would have been very disappointed had we had to sit underneath the boat by the bar for a boat trip where the goal is site seeing.
Well narrated tour, learned a lot about the adjoining islands. Worth the cost just to see sunset. Will definitely recommend
The boat was beautiful. Well maintained. Nice bar. The bathrooms very nice and clean. It's nice to hear about landmarks and history, but this cruise was information overload. The man speaking was very informative, but I am not sure if he caught a breath. There were only 3 minutes he wasn't speaking. I could be wrong, but I believe most people choose this sunset cruise for a relaxing time out on the water, not so much a history lesson. There was no time to reflect and enjoy the beauty of the bay when someone was speaking the entirety of the trip. The enclosed area inside with the high top tables would be nice if there were chairs.

We enjoyed our sunset cruise of Portland. The captain and crew were fun and informative. There was plenty of room on the boat to walk around and take pictures. The captain also offered guests to helm the boat, which my daughter accepted. The evening was cloudy so we didn’t get the beautiful sunset views but the trip was worth it no matter. We saw seals and lots of birds.
Boat's departure was timely, boat was neat, staff were polite, especially the narrator. It was a delightful experience.
Very enjoyable sunset cruise. The narrator gave a lot of very interesting personalized information he was funny without being cheesy. We saw a gorgeous sunset. The staff was accomdading for our guest who walks very slowly with a cane.
There were chips, wine beer, sodas and water available for purchase.
There was a bathroom available on the boat.

Such a pleasant excursion! We were able to beautiful pictures. Lots of interesting information (and jokes🤣) provided. Staff as friendly and informative. Relaxing time of day to see great views of lighthouses and the city. We would definitely recommend this trip.

It was a very relaxing boat ride. We were able to see seals and Osprey. The guide was knowledgeable and personable. Drinks were reasonably priced.
The tour guide made this cruise outstanding. The cruise itself allowed us to see the coastline and surrounding islands. The tour guide explained it all with a great sense of humor..

The crew/captain/guide and land staff were all great, highly professional, courteous, and genuinely pleased to have us as guests (unlike some tourist activities). Very interesting historical info provided by guide. Captain was gracious and provided excellent smooth ride, making sure all sides of the boat could have clear views of the sights. There is a bar on board, again with friendly, knowledgable bartender. We saw some seals, interesting birds, several islands, 3 lighthouses and a beautiful sunset. Well worth it!
