What a perfect day of biking with our tour guide, Ian. The 12 mile ride was relatively easy, with gorgeous scenery and great narration at every stop. Ian was so knowledgeable and such a nice young man. He made the day so enjoyable. We highly recommend this bike shop/tour to anyone who wants to explore this beautiful area and learn its history. 10/10 for sure!!!

Wonderful experience. Highly recommend!! Our guide, Ross, was patient, kind, fun and full of information. It was a great way to start out our trip in Maine learning so much about Portland and Maine in general. The bikes are in excellent condition with easily working gears. Half the trip is on pathways and the other half on roads. We never felt unsafe. There are some hills but it’s mostly flat.
We stayed in downtown Portland and it was an easy walk from our hotel across the Cosco Bay Bridge, about 1.5 miles, there’s a walking path over the bridge, to South Portland where the tour begins. But if driving over there is plenty of parking available as well.
We had such a great time on this bike tour in Portland! Leah, who owns the shop, was an awesome guide and made the whole experience really fun and relaxed.
The scenery was beautiful — we got to see lighthouses, the ocean, different neighborhoods, and even just the smell of the ocean along the way made it feel like a real Maine experience. The ride was around 12 miles, but it never felt too difficult. There weren’t a ton of hills, and there were plenty of flat sections and downhill stretches, which made it really enjoyable.
And the lobster roll at the end was such a great touch! It was the perfect way to finish the ride. Overall, a really fun experience and definitely something I’d recommend if you want to see Portland from a different perspective.
We really enjoyed touring with Ross. He was patient with me as some of the hills slowed me down. He was also very informative. The ride and the lighthouses were beautiful. We had lunch at a food truck at the last one and it was the best buttery lobster roll I had ever eaten. You settle up the payment for your lunch with him at the end. Be careful if you walk there from the cruise port. The cab wanted $35 for the 1.3 mile trip (uber charged us only $15 to get back!). Be sure to walk on the left side of the bridge on the pedestrian walkway OPPOSING traffic or you won't be able to get to the staircase and you will need to backtrack and have a much longer walk to the bike shop. We had to jog to not be late. We called and they waited for us.
“L” was fantastic - personable, informative and safety conscious! We had a great time with Lighthouse Bikes in Portland and the lobster rolls and whoopie pies were delicious!
The weather was spectacular….it was a picture perfect Maine day!
This was a fabulous tour! Ross was so great and personable and a wealth of local knowledge. Great bike ride, not too strenuous. Fun way to see some of the neighborhoods on the way to the lighthouses. The lobster roll from the food truck at lunch was the best we had while here. Highly recommend!

We are so lucky to have Ross. Thank you for coming!
Mix of paved and street riding. Some streets were quite busy. I wouldn’t recommend for children. Bikes were nice and had baskets. Our guide was super sweet and knowledgeable of the area. A great way to see S Portland. Overall, a lot of fun!

The staff is very accommodating. The temps were extremely high and they offered an earlier time and shorter tour. But the tour met all expectations. History content was good

These guys are fantastic! So knowledgeable and fun! Equipment is in great condition. No problems. He let us take our time touring the lighthouses, shopping , and enjoying those lobster rolls. Gave us great recommendations for things to do in Old Port. Definitely well worth it!!

Leah and Ross were very flexible and accommodating as we had to change the day and time of our original booking. Leah was our tour guide and was very informative all along our ride. I can't say enough about the experience and would definitely do it again!!

Thank you Ross for guiding us through South Portland and seeing all the lighthouses and going through the cute neighborhoods. We learned a lot about the ship-building industry and history of the Portland area as well. Highly recommend!

Basically its a real must Do

Great bike tour! Owner was so friendly and informative. Views were beautiful and lobster rolls were delicious. Had a fantastic time!
What a delightful way to spend a few hours exploring South Portland and seeing the beautiful coast line. Ross was an excellent guide-exploring the history, providing thoughtful instructions, and making great recommendations. This is a must have tour if you’re looking for an active way to explore town.
It was so much fun, very informative and so many pretty places to see. There are a few uphills so if you aren’t a bike rider be aware. I was able to walk the bike if needed.
We booked a 4 hour lighthouse bike tour. It was raining that day so the operator emailed and asked if I would like to reschedule or cancel. I requested for cancellation which they did. That said, Viator never issued the refund. I saw my credit card statement and did not see the refund after 3 weeks. So I called Viator and they said that there is not communication between operator or Viator which is surprising. I had to called Viator and ask them to process my refund for the cancelation. This seems such a waste of time to call and ask for refund when the cancelation was done.

I am sorry for the trouble. This is just the way viator works. If people sign up directly through our website we can process the request instantly!
This is a great bike tour around town! We stopped at 3 great lighthouses! We were able to take a tour of 1 lighthouse and the opportunity to have a lobster roll at the iconic Portland Head lighthouse. Our guide told us a lot about Portland.
Halley was very knowledgeable about all the things along the way to the light houses plus the lighthouses themselves. Bikes were comfortable and ride was not difficult! Highly recommend as an alternative way to get around the south Portland area and to see the sights!

Absolutely loved this tour! So much fun, super knowledgeable and friendly tour guide, and best lobster roll we ever tasted. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could!
What a wonderful experience! I was lucky to get to do a solo tour with bike shop owner, Leah! She is such a nice person and has a plethora of knowledge about the lighthouses and Portland. Her background story in opening the shop is incredible, so be sure to ask her about that! The information she provided along the tour was so interesting and kept me wanting to learn more! The route we took to see the lighthouses was beautiful, and she provided me with the cutest hand-drawn map of our route after the tour. This was very helpful because I didn’t take photos at every stop and was worried I wouldn’t recall the names of all the lighthouses. We stopped and had a delicious lobster roll along the way - don’t skip out on this. You’ll regret not getting one!
I highly recommend this tour! I would definitely do it again if I return to Portland in the future.
This was a perfect way to view Portland coastline and lighthouses. Our guide was very knowledgeable and kept a good pace for the group.
Tour was a lot of fun and learned a lot about the city. Got to see the lighthouses and the lobster roll at the end was amazing!
We had so much fun on this lighthouse bike tour. The guide was great! He really knew the history of the area and was enthusiastic and fun to be with. The ride had a few hills but nothing too challenging. It was the perfect way to explore the area. And the lobster rolls for lunch with blueberry soda and whoopie pie made it even better!
Jack the tour guide was very knowledgeable about each stop and it was a great experience riding from various lighthouses . Lobster roll in Fort Williams Park was delicious and a perfect lunch break .
I highly recommend the tour !!!
Best way to see the city, their Victorian homes, parks and the lighthouses. The world looks better on a bicycle and these tour operator did an exceptional job taking care of us and ordering delicious lobster rolls for lunch Anyone looking for a wonderful tour I would recommend this one.
Hailey was an amazing guide! It was a great day of biking, seeing the beautiful shoreline and a lobster roll lunch!

I think she had as much fun as you did!
Easy pace. Our guide was so informative, the location was great and we were given a water and a snack bar to take with us. We stopped for lunch optional you could have brought your own but I recommend the capris sandwich or lobster roll. So great. Please don’t hesitate to book this. You won’t retreat it
