Your day begins at Hale’iwa Boat Harbor, where you can meet the crew, board your boat, and set off on an adventure through Oahu’s clear waters. Get inside a floating cage and visit an area where Galapagos and Sandbar sharks live in the wild.
To ensure it's a safe and stress-free experience, the crew is there to guide you, and all snorkeling equipment is provided, so you can travel light.
Stay on the surface with your snorkel and mask, then have a chance to look through polyglass windows to watch the sharks. It's an ideal activity for those who don’t have scuba diving experience, as no experience or certification is required to take part.
As well as having a memorable wildlife encounter, you can also broaden your knowledge, as the crew provides commentary about shark biology and behavior.
After spending around two hours exploring the natural shark habitat, the trip finishes back at the harbor.

From the time you get onto the boat to the time you get out to the cage in the middle of the ocean it’s very quick and the boys are very interactive, telling you the history of Oahu in North Shore. This is an incredible experience and I would recommend everyone try it at least once you are face-to-face to a sharks. I would recommend borrowing their go-pro for underwater photos and video. It was a perfect day on the water with very little waves and clear water. Also don’t worry about the temperature or the water it is warm without any wetsuit. This is a surprise but you can stay in the water without getting cold easily. Thank you guys for an amazing experience

Absolutely amazing experience! The sharks aren't as deadly as I thought. I was able to get close and personal with them in the cage. The guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend to try this. It was my first time and I loved it !

If I could give this more than five stars, I definitely would. David and Ephraim were knowledgeable, professional and made us feel completely safe but also had us rolling with laughter. David even got into the cage with us at the end, so we felt like he really loved his work. Highly recommend for confident swimmers. This was a high point of our visit to the island.

Amazing! We did this 14 years ago, but we prepared ourselves this time with a bit of Dramamine to prevent sea 🌊 sickness. 😊
Caleb and Miles did an AMAZING job and most importantly keeping us safe. Saw a TON of sharks, and $50 GoPro rental sealed the deal. 😊

We went out a few days after the Kona came through, water was murky and we were unable to clearly see so they gave us a full refund.

Experience of a life time the skipper and deck hand were hilarious and welcoming. I recommend renting thier go pros when filming with the waterproof bags on the phones it kept zooming in on its own.

Great tip about the cameras too! The waterproof phone bags can sometimes trigger the screen and cause that zoom issue, so renting our GoPros is definitely the best way to capture those shark moments clearly.

Beautiful! Most peaceful experience I have ever had . (Weird I know!) sharks swam very close to, water was crystal clear ! The crew was amazing . Took very good care of us and made sure everyone in cage had VIP experience. On the way back some Jack Johnson played(thank you! Made my day!) trip was perfect

We did this on the second last day of our time on Oahu and I wish we did it on the first day as I would have 1000% done it a second time before we left. The guys were very knowledgeable and kept everything chill. We saw a whale and 2 pods of dolphins on the way out too! There were so many sharks and we had so much time in the water as there was only 7 on our group. and we had our own GoPro but also chose to rent the one on the tour too so we got tonnes of great footage. It was very safe, very well run and truly the best thing we’ve done on a trip! We will definitely do it again if we get to return to Oahu! It was quite affordable also, which is a bonus. I watch Shark Week every year and love sharks so if the opportunity to see them up close came up we were doing it. The two guys operating the excursion were great and very knowledgeable and helpful. It was scary at first but once in the cage it was a blast. We’d do it again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended.

Amazing experience to get close to sharks. So many sharks are so close. The team on the boat were great too. Set us up with go pro and got great video before the dive for us and we got great video during dive. They downloaded the video direct to our camera. Highly recommended this tour!!!

My experience was canceled due to weather. I had option to get refund or reschedule. I was not able to reschedule so I asked for refund. Was told I need to contact provider. This is the company used and accepted my money. Don’t have information to contact provider. Still no refund. Terrible service

Caleb was the best tour guide we’ve ever had! He answered all of our “dumb” questions with patience and even hooked us up with extra footage of the sharks. We saw plenty of Galapagos sharks, all the gear was included, and they even rinsed us off with fresh water when we were done. On the way back, they took us to see whales too! They were amazing, and I would highly recommend them. Overall, we had an unforgettable experience and a fantastic time with Hawaiʻi Shark Encounters.

The operators were fantastic, such cool guys and very easy going. We saw half a dozen whales on the way out, and the captain would point out cool things along the way (like flying fish and the Iwa bird).
The cage was super easy to get into and out of, and our family of five fit very comfortably in there. They have GoPros on the boat to rent if you don’t have one. The water was on the cooler side in February, so you may want to bring a body suit to wear inside, and a towel when you’re out.

Hands down, amazing experience. I wish we could have done it all day. We even saw 2 humpback whales! The guides were so friendly and chill. The boat ride is a short 15 min ride to the sharks. The cage is super safe.

Although we were terrified of the trip, the captain and Co-captain made it very enjoyable and assured us it was safe once we got to our site. The sharks were everywhere. We got in our cage and saw at least 10 sharks hovering around the cage

Was so awesome . Saw 2 tiger sharks one of the rarest things you can see !! It all comes to luck in the ocean but these boys running this excursion will do their best and guarantee some sharks. They were awesome . It's a smaller boat and smaller cage then only tours but they hose you off and take care of you . We will return again .
