Absolutely fantastic experience, from someone who is (was) terrified of sharks! Staff are caring and attentive to make sure everyone is comfortable. They are knowledgeable of the environment and took the time to answer any questions. This is a family owned business which made the experience even better! 100/10 recommend. Absolutely amazing experience!! I felt safe the whole time. There’s a 15-20 minute ride out on a boat and then you get to snorkel around the sharks for about 30 minutes. Photos are included which is an added bonus! No one would believe we did this without proof haha. Would absolutely recommend.

What To Expect

Swim with sharks in a natural, cage-free environment on this small, intimate, family-run snorkel adventure. There’s no need to be afraid, since the sharks and other marine life you’ll be swimming with are harmless to humans.

Your tour starts when you show up at the departure point to meet your small group and guide in Haleiwa, on Oahu’s North Shore. You’ll be given snorkel gear to use, so you don’t need to source that separately.

You’ll head out to the deep blue water where you can watch people swimming with sharks, then get into the water yourself. You’ll spend around a half hour in the water with the sharks, unless you want to come up to the boat sooner, which is always an option.

We had an amazing experience swimming with sharks today. The crew was really experienced and also environmentally friendly. They brought us to a location they knew would have sharks and we were lucky. We saw a tiger shark and later about 7 Galapagos sharks. They took beautiful photos of us and the sharks. My daughter was nervous initially but she was so happy she did it. It was really an incredible experience.

The tour is worth every penny ! The staff is very nice and helpful. I’m not the strongest swimmer and was terrified with how deep the ocean is but definitely wanted to do this. They talk to us before leaving about the game plan and what to expect. Provided floating devices and even held my hand to guide me around so I didn’t get taken by the current. Showed me how to use the snorkel equipment I was a first time user and it was all very easy and fun! Stress free! However I would bring a bottle of water for when you are done swimming.

Super cool! The guides are super kind and guide you through the water! I was scared at first to go into the open ocean but got comfortable knowing the guides were close by. It was so cool to see the sharks! They even take complementary photos!

Absolutely incredible time with the Island View crew! They made us feel welcomed right away and were very attentive to everyone’s needs. The photos/videos are an awesome addition to this adventure and we are so thankful for the memories and that we didn’t have to worry about getting any photos ourselves (personal cameras are not allowed in the water). Overall, it was an incredible trip with a great team

My brother had wanted to swim with sharks ever since his last visit to Hawaii. This time we finally had the opportunity to do it together, and it exceeded all of our expectations. The crew was professional, friendly, and made us feel safe throughout the entire experience. Seeing the sharks up close in their natural environment was both exciting and breathtaking. My brother hasn’t stopped talking about it since it was easily one of the best experiences of his life. I highly recommend this adventure to anyone visiting Hawaii and looking for a unique and unforgettable experience.

Thank you for offering photos and videos for free; this is truly what made me choose your company the first time. Thank you for allowing us to swim freely and enjoy the experience to the fullest, without being tied to a rope or staying close to the boat (as I experienced with another company). P.S. Please let the girl handle the photos and videos. On Monday, it was a man taking the pictures and almost none of them were sharp or successful. 😁😁 Having someone experienced makes a big difference, so we can have beautiful photos to show our family and friends.

This was a memorable trip and experience. As a certified Scuba diver with underwater camera experience I was disappointed that a rule of the boat was to prohibit camera use. Although they did take photos and videos and provided them to all on the boat at the end, I would have preferred to take my own photos and document my experience as opposed to having a lot of photos of strangers in the group.

The while experience was so nice!! During my dive day, I believe we saw about 3 Galapagos sharks. The sharks were friendly too, so we were able to dive and see them! It was amazing. The instructors were also very good, and the photographer was so nice!

Did this solo and it was amazing! if your even thinking about it do it! Kaiea, Ha’a, Makoa were the best. just trust your them and it will be smooth sailing. Don’t do the cage this was a much better experience, very affordable with included pictures.

The most amazing experience in Hawaii! Swimming with these beautiful creatures was surreal. Even my husband who was adamant of not going in the water eventually came in and is so happy to got to experience this. This definitely helped me overcome my fear of sharks and deep water. I felt so calm in the ocean especially with the safety divers right next to me. If you’re going to book ONE activity, make it this one!

Absolutely amazing experience! Very calm & serene— our divers were very personal and really wanted us to have a natural encounter viewing the sharks on their own terms. They were willing to go further out to find clear water and took great pictures and videos so we could just be in the moment. I went with my 3 kids (13, 15, & 17) and everyone loved it!
