Please drive out to Haleiwa Harbor on Oahu's north shore to meet the boat. Please check in 30 minutes prior.
End point
This activity ends back at the meeting point. What To Expect
Your Oahu shark dive begins at Haleiwa boat harbor on the island’s famous North Shore, where you motor out to the open ocean offshore. While cruising out to the shark diving area, there’s a chance you could see dolphins, sea turtles, surfers or even humpback whales in winter, and the view looking back at Oahu’s shoreline is worth the trip in itself.
Since safety is one of the top priorities for the Oahu shark diving crew, receive a briefing on safe practices and how to act in the cage. Then, when it’s time to finally go looking for sharks, strap on your masks, step in the cage, and your shark watching adventure begins when you’re lowered in the water.
Out here in the open ocean away from the runoff and waves, visibility can often extend to as much as 200 feet (60m). When you first catch sight of a graceful shark swimming slowly but purposefully towards you, there’s a sudden and potent rush of adrenaline you simply can’t contain. Before you can even be scared, however, the sharks have swum to within inches of the cage and are circling in front of your face.
In the waters around Oahu, the most commonly sighted sharks you might find are Galapagos, Hammerhead, and Sandbar sharks, which range from 5-15 feet (1.5-4.5m) dependent upon their age. For travelers wanting to dive as a group, the cage can comfortably hold two adult divers and up to eight at a time—though it depends on current weather conditions and the amount of movement in the water.
And, if you simply don’t want to dive in the cage but are hoping to see some sharks, there’s still plenty of thrilling action you can experience while viewing from the deck of the boat.
Money-back guarantee that you see sharks!

The captain and the gentlemen supporting the excursion were awesome. Very educational, funny and professional. I got really sea sick however it was still a trilling experience and I would give a 10 star if I could. I appreciate the experience and I would recommend more people to try it!! The environment was safe and the instructions were extremely clear. So for the folks that left reviews around travel, getting sea sick ,expectations, etc… if you do your research and follow the rules you will have a great experience. Thank you gentlemen for the lovely experience, Thank you for being kind after I got sick. Appreciate yall.

If you want to see real sharks upclose, this is for you. The boat right there was rough, but the experience was all worth it..

Fantastic time, definitely worth your time and money. Captain was amazing, deck hands was even better. The experience was too notch.

My partner and I had such a fun time doing the shark dive. There were about 8-10 of us all up so when you get into the cage, only 4-5 people are allowed at once so you’re free to roam the boat and check out the sharks from above which was cool! We spent maybe a maximum 10-15 minutes in the water all up, I put my phone into a waterproof cover so I got some footage of the sharks which was so good! Not the greatest but still counted.
Please take motion sickness tablets as the water was a little rocky on the day, a man got sick and threw up overboard.
We saw a pod of dolphins on the way to our spot and the tour guide who was operating the boat was following them, he kindly stopped the boat for us to take photos of them too. I was in absolute awe! Such an awesome experience! I highly recommend!

Once in a lifetime experience! The boat ride alone is worth it but seeing sharks up that close was just the coolest thing. Mel our guide and captain Tim were so sweet and knowledgeable and gave us such a memorable experience. Would come to Oahu again just for this :)

That is awesome Taylor! Mahalo and we will be waiting for you on your next Hawaiian vacation.

By far the coolest thing I have ever done! I was a little nervous, more about the cage rocking because of the reviews I saw but once you are in the water it’s not bad at all! It was rough at times, but when you are focused on these beautiful animals gliding so gracefully through the water, you forget all about the rough waters. Our crew was also so amazing and made everyone feel comfortable. We cant wait to take our 10 year old son back to experience it!

We did this experience with our 16, 12, and 10 year olds and it was amazing. Our tour guides were wonderful and it will be an experience we will always remember.
For those wanting more logistical details - a boat takes you about 3 miles off sure to an an anchored cage. They give you snorkel gear and put you in a cage I groups of 8 for 30 minutes and then switch groups. Plenty of sharks to see! They get close to but not really too close. All 3 of my kids were able to participate and loved it.
Of note - The water is rough that far out - in the cage and on the boat. Took me a little too long to figure out to hold onto the handles and put my feet on the foot bar to stay more stable. No one in my family gets sea sick and we are used to being on boats and this even had my crew feeling not great. We did also accidentally ingest a decent amount of sea water while in the cage due to the rough waves which i’m sure did not help. If you get sea sick, this may not be the experience for you.
Also bring a water proof phone case for video ! Make sure you press record before you take the phone under as the button won’t work underwater (so pictures won’t work).

This was one of the best experiences Ive ever had. I would absolutely do it 1000 more times and recommend to anyone. My only advice is to bring your own mask because the ones provided seem to have ocean water leak through. However, if you use theirs, it is still manageable! This was just unreal and so cool!
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you for choosing our tour. We look forward to seeing you again sometime.
LaDonda_C, Jul 2026
Seeing the sharks, six of them, was really cool. Our time in the cage with the sharks circling underneath/beside us was quite uneventful. The sharks were not interested in us and didn't come near the cage. I guess we expected them to swim right up to the cage and that didn't happen.
The cage was very rough beating against the boat and it was hard to hold on.
Overall, pretty neat! Would I do it again? Probably not, but exciting to do once.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you for the review and I am sorry that mother nature threw in some choppy conditions that day. Hopefully, we will see you on your next Hawaiian adventure during better conditions.

My 17 year old daughter and I absolutely loved this tour. We wanted to try something we’ve never done before. I decided to give this a go. We are both a little scared of sharks but we decided to try it anyway. It was fantastic! The water was clear and there were tons of big sharks, but they didn’t get too close to the cage. However, they did swim all around it. It was awesome! They only have four or five people in the cage at a time so you don’t feel crowded at all and everyone has a good viewing spot. The crew was great as well. I highly recommend it.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Mahalo for the recommendation! We love hearing about your tour and we love knowing that what we strive to provide in a tour meets or exceeds your expectations. Please come back and see us again.

Perfect diving experience from booking to leaving the dock! Matty was our boat captain with two other individuals (can’t recall names) that were amazing. They explained things throughly and made sure our crew was safe.

First of all, keep in mind you are dealing with Mother Nature and they can't control how sharks react. It was a quick process of boarding and getting settled and then we head out to an area where the cage is already settled. Our ride was smooth but I would definitely check ahead to see how the waters are and use dramamine if necessary. They didn't see any sharks in that area so we went to another one and stopped there. Getting in and out of the cage is easy and you are basically snorkeling so no need to feel anxiety and the sharks are not aggressive but more curious and just swimming around. We had about 20 minutes in the cage and the sharks got fairly close to us. If you want video, I would suggest bringing a gopro or spend $75 to get a copy of the company video. It was a great experience and I'm very glad I did this.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed your experience with us and we truly appreciate your support. Share that video with your friends and family.
Jamie_W, Jun 2026
What an adrenaline rush! My teenage kids loooved getting to be so close to the sharks! The sharks circled around the cage the entire time! I will say, don’t forget to take dramamine before you go! We all took it, and still got seasick on the way back. I’m sure it would’ve been a lot worse had we not taken any. Still, this was totally worth an hour of feeling a little queasy! So much fun!!!!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you! It’s so wonderful when folks like you take the time to share their review. It reinforces the experience we are trying to provide and makes our day!

We arrived early for check in and the lady at the kiosk was wonderful! On the boat we were met with friendly staff that made sure our experience was more than sharks! They slowed the boat down for a pod of dolphins and made sure everyone was comfortable. A few people in the cage were stung by jellyfish and the staff were quick to act and checked on them immediately. They did everything they could to ensure we got to see sharks and went above and beyond! Highly recommend! It’s the best thing we did during our stay in Hawaii!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for the five-star rating and for taking the time to share your review.
