End point
This activity ends back at the meeting point. What To Expect
Your Oahu shark dive begins at Haleiwa boat harbor on the island’s famous North Shore, where you motor out to the open ocean offshore. While cruising out to the shark diving area, there’s a chance you could see dolphins, sea turtles, surfers or even humpback whales in winter, and the view looking back at Oahu’s shoreline is worth the trip in itself.
Since safety is one of the top priorities for the Oahu shark diving crew, receive a briefing on safe practices and how to act in the cage. Then, when it’s time to finally go looking for sharks, strap on your masks, step in the cage, and your shark watching adventure begins when you’re lowered in the water.
Out here in the open ocean away from the runoff and waves, visibility can often extend to as much as 200 feet (60m). When you first catch sight of a graceful shark swimming slowly but purposefully towards you, there’s a sudden and potent rush of adrenaline you simply can’t contain. Before you can even be scared, however, the sharks have swum to within inches of the cage and are circling in front of your face.
In the waters around Oahu, the most commonly sighted sharks you might find are Galapagos, Hammerhead, and Sandbar sharks, which range from 5-15 feet (1.5-4.5m) dependent upon their age. For travelers wanting to dive as a group, the cage can comfortably hold two adult divers and up to eight at a time—though it depends on current weather conditions and the amount of movement in the water.
And, if you simply don’t want to dive in the cage but are hoping to see some sharks, there’s still plenty of thrilling action you can experience while viewing from the deck of the boat.
Money-back guarantee that you see sharks!

This dive was everything I imagined it would be! The surface water was a bit choppy because of bad weather coming in, but the crew still took us out. The crew was excellent - very, VERY nice people. They did what they could to lure sharks to our cage, and each group got 20 minutes in the water. We had so many galapagos sharks around us, I couldn’t believe it! I would highly recommend this company for a cage dive charter. Worth every single penny.
PS: we even saw a couple whales on our way to and from the dive point!

This is a totally unique experience. The sharks are as beautiful and majestic as you would think they would be, and we all felt safe inside the cage. Captain and crew did a great job. Only thing to bear in mind is that you're going out a ways into the ocean and it was pretty wavy the day we went so if you're prone to seasickness, take prior measures.

it's about an hour and a half, with about 20 mins to get to the shark cage, and each group there spends 20 mins in the shark cage. and then 20 mins back. views on the ride are great. the masks that were provided sometimes let a little bit of water in, and were not the best
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for the review and we are glad you had a great time with the exception of the mask not fitting perfectly

My husband and I had an awesome time with North Shore Adventure Company! Matty and Titus were awesome and very helpful. I was a little nervous as the weather was a little bit unpredictable that day and the water was choppy but the went over safety procedures and made sure everyone was comfortable. We had a smaller group that day (only 5 people my husband and I included) due to some cancellations so we got extra time in the water! We were able to see at least 10-13 sharks swimming around the entire time! Felt very safe and in control the entire time once we got into the water. If you’re on the fence about doing something like this definitely do it! Also it’s a plus if you’re staying near or at the North Shore of the island (we were at turtle bay) because the harbor was only 23 minutes down the road as opposed to an hour or an hour and a half from Honolulu/waikiki area depending on where you are.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for your awesome review. Our captains and crew genuinely love sharing the beauty of the sharks and north shore of Oahu with wonderful folks like yourself.
Doug_B, Mar 2026
I went in with low expectations and not expecting to see many sharks or any up close. Boy, was I mistaken. When we reached the cage there were 10-15 Galapagos sharks circling the boat! Inside the cage, the sharks were swimming all around us, and beneath us. Well worth it!
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you! It’s so wonderful when folks like you take the time to share their review. It reinforces the experience we are trying to provide and makes our day!
Natasha_W, Mar 2026
Amazing experience! Weren't sure if it would still be doable with the rainy weather but it cleared up just in time and we got an amazing experience! Our group was small and so we got extra time to stay in the water and will definitely say it was so well worth it. Thank you to Matty & Titus for an amazing time.

Instructions could have been clearer. I thought the cage would be lowered into the water more, but it was not, so I lost several minutes of viewing time waiting for the next step. The water was rough, so I banged my head against the cage several times and it was difficult to find good foot and hand positions. Overall it was a good experience, as we did see lots of sharks up close. We also saw a few whales briefly. The crew were very good and friendly. Several people got seasick.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for the review and I am sorry that mother nature threw in some choppy conditions that day. Hopefully, we will see you on your next Hawaiian adventure during better conditions.

A dream come true: Swimming with Hammerheads! 🦈🌊 Even with high waves and a very seasick participant (proud of my hubby for being such a trooper through it!), it was a 10/10 experience. I’m so glad I did this! 2026 is already wild.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for the review and that was awesome that you got to see a hammerhead shark!!!
Yesenia_S, Mar 2026
This was the highlight of my trip to Hawaii! Super informative, we got to learn about the sharks before we got in the cage & even got to sight whales & dolphins!! The staff was super friendly and helpful.

Yuniqua_B, Mar 2026
shark diving was one of the most powerful and unforgettable experiences of my life. Being in the water with these incredible creatures was both humbling and exhilarating. The guides made me feel completely safe and well-prepared, and their respect for the sharks and the ocean was obvious from start to finish. Seeing sharks up close in their natural environment changed the way I view them calm, curious, and absolutely majestic. The entire experience was well organized, professional, and deeply emotional in the best way possible. If you’re looking for an adventure that pushes your comfort zone and connects you with nature on a whole new level, solo shark diving is a must.

We had so much fun! And our captain answered a lot of questions. He even took the time to try and get close to whales and a pod of dolphins.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for the shout out to our awesome crew members!
Lyndsey_G, Feb 2026
Great experience! The trip felt completely safe and a controlled environment. If you have any interest in getting up close and personal with sharks, book this! The cage is partially out of the water, so the snorkel gear works great to be able to see the sharks up close. You can also hear whales while you’re under. We saw some whales and dolphins on the way to and from the swimming site as well. Well worth it!
Response from Host, Mar 2026

This is an absolute must do activity on your trip to the North Shore. It was a highlight for everyone in our family. Truly, one of the best experiences we have had altogether.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
We enjoy hearing about your experience and are happy to hear that you had a great time.
Gabby_M, Feb 2026
This was one of the best experiences EVER! Not only was the crew professional, friendly and knowledgeable, they made sure we got to see the sharks. Completely felt safe the entire time, my family was a bit scared (a lot of scared) but once they got in the water they were able to relax and really enjoy what was going on around us, we would not have felt this safe had it not been for the crew. I would 100% recommend this adventure to anyone who ask.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Mahalo for the recommendation! We love hearing about your tour and we love knowing that what we strive to provide in a tour meets or exceeds your expectations. Please come back and see us again.
Emma_S, Feb 2026
It was fun but the boat was very rocky making me motion sick and we didn’t see too many sharks. Still was fun to be out on the boat and to see a couple sharks though
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thank you for the review and I am sorry that mother nature threw in some choppy conditions that day. Hopefully, we will see you on your next Hawaiian adventure.
Ashley_H, Feb 2026
May get sea sick but worth it. We got to see dolphins, whales, and the sharks of course. I wish they would have taken pics for us someway but it’s probably not possible.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
We are so appreciative of your thoughtful review. We hope to see you out on the water with us again in the future.
Joshua_A, Feb 2026
Incredible experience to see sharks up close. We had about 10 sharks circling the cage. We also seen a pod of dolphins on the way and a few whales.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Mahalo Joshua
Sara_S, Feb 2026
This was an awesome experience! Heading out to the sharks we saw a whale jumping! Then once in the cage there was probably 10 or more sharks circling. On the way back we saw dolphins! Our crew were wonderful!
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thank you for the stars and review. My staff absolutely loves sharing their love for the ocean. We hope to have you aboard on your next Hawaiian adventure.
Mackenzie_P, Feb 2026
Very rough on the water. 4 people on the ship threw up after saying they don’t get sea sick. My partner couldnt even go in the cage due to sea sickness. THIS IS NOT THE OPERATORS FAULT!!! Just a precaution! Other than that it was great! I went in the water and the guides were very helpful. Giving my partner gum and getting us out and in of the cage safely. I got some awesome pictures and videos of sharks. Beware that it is very rocky in the cage, we went for 7 am and the cage was kind of hard to stay latched on. You might think the water would be cold but it wasnt! And thats coming from someone who is always cold! However, all in all I had a lot of fun! Thanks to the guides. Would definitely do it again.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Aloha,
Thank you for your review that was on point. Typically the early tours are the best but at times it can get rocky as you mentioned. A lot of our clients ask if the waters are cold and we state that the outside temperature is cold but the waters are very warm year round. Hopefully we will get to see you next time.
Mahalo,
Joe Pavsek
Bobbi_S, Feb 2026
I was a little anxious about this experience but it was wonderful. We seen wales on the boat ride out and had several sharks visit us during the tour. Up close but very safe feeling. We even had a child and a non swimmer in our group that all had a great time. Recommend to everyone who is a little interested!
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thanks for the awesome review! We work hard to meet expectations like yours, and we’re happy to hear we hit the mark for you. Come back and see us soon. Aloha!
Kathryn_B, Feb 2026
What an amazing experience. Great staff, clean boat, and BIG SHARKS!!! Water was a little chilly (they should work on that lol) on a serious note, 100% recommend going on this adventure
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thank you for your review and stars. No worries we will put in a word with Mother Nature to get that water warmer for you. Mahalo for the recommendation and I'll see you next time
Carlee_G, Feb 2026
10/10 experience. I was a little hesitant to go alone, as I’m not a people person, but this year I’m trying to push myself to get out of my shell. I felt so safe from being on the boat to being in the cadge, our experts were Maddie, and Emma whom were so so kind and explained what we needed to do very straightforward and simple. The sharks were incredible!! I wish I took my underwater camera down with me, but the water was so harsh I didn’t trust myself to hold it and I’m honestly glad i didn’t and just experienced it in real time. I did however get a ton of pictures from on the boat of the sharks and you could see them so clearly. I do recommend having some sort of sea sick medicine as going from the cadge back on the boat was something that made everyone sea sick because of the water. But everything was amazing and I would do it again in a heartbeat
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Carlee you did it! That is AWESOME!!! Thank you so much for your review and recommendation
