The Aquatic Center was exciting, informative, and the 3-D Whale show was excellent. The aquarium was great.
We enjoyed our time at Maui’s Ocean Center. Although we’ve been to Maui several times, it was our first time visiting the center. It was quite a windy day and we were glad we were able to spend time in this place. We enjoyed all the different areas but the whale sphere was just fabulous. We would recommend that anyone coming to Maui spend a little time exploring the center!
My teens still love the aquarium so when we went to Hawaii on a cruise, the Maui Ocean Center was a must. There was no direct shore excursion so we took a taxi here. It's small and a quick trip through, but worth it (especially if your kids are younger). I highly recommend!
Very fun! It has a lot of historical details to learn about too. I liked how they displayed both the native species of fish and the invasive species as well. The way its set up is very easy to follow, and is very beautiful!
This is a great way to relax and see ocean wildlife including coral. This teen kids loved seeing the fish and coral. This is an all ages experience.
The aquarium is not very big, but it is a very enjoyable experience! The sphere show was phenomenal! An experience that won’t soon be forgotten. The side shows at the different locations in the aquarium are run by employees that live what they do, are pretty knowledgeable on the subjects being shared, and were found to be very friendly and created a great environment for learning.
I would have like to see more sharks eels and whales! Not worth the money I spent for admission. Maybe I wanted it to be like sea world in Florida
Wonderful place for family and friends to become educated on the island while seeing all the aquarium creatures. Love the 3-D video about whales too. Highly recommend.
When we paid on line, the admission said nothing about a discount for seniors. When we arrived there was a sign a discount for seniors, and we were told there was nothing we can do since on line payments are from s 3rd party. I little deceiving in paying on line
The humpback whale 3-D experience was amazing. Loved seeing the sea turtles, and the coral reef exhibits are great for those who are not brave enough to snorkel
Awesome place to visit!! My family and myself loved all of the exhibits. The sea turtles and sharks were my favorite though!!
We had so much fun at the Maui Ocean Center! It was much more than just an aquarium. There were displays of the rich history of the island, jellyfish tanks, turtle tanks, and a huge tank that extended over our heads where we got to see sharks and stingrays swim over our heads! I had never seen a stingray's smile before :)
We spent 3 hours there and easily could have spent more, but got there 3-hours prior to closing. The gift shop was awesome too! Most items were a bit out of our price range, but if you hunt you can find some deals, and there were some unique items that we just had to have regardless of cost.
It's a good thing we bought tickets in advance too, because after arriving on Maui the prices increased (by $10 each) due to volume of visitors but our price was already locked in.
The aquarium is small but has great exhibits. The outside exhibits are on the harbor and has a nice view
Absolutely adorable, fun, interactive. Set right across the harbor so you can enjoy a nice view as you move through the exhibits. Small and takes about a 1-2 hours to get through but totally worth it.
This is a nice aquarium. I spent 1 1/2 hours here. I especially enjoyed the whale exhibit and 3D movie.
This is an excellent thing to do on Maui when the weather is not what you need. If raining, you will get wet between exhibits. Such a nice aquarium! We were lucky to visit right when feeding time occurred for the large tank. There was a diver in the tank just prior, who was miked and able to be asked questions about the experience. We had the added joy of being there when the 1st graders were there on a field trip! They asked some great questions!
Don't miss out on the $5 mai tais at the restaurant. Also the food is great! We enjoyed sitting open air and viewing the ocean while having drinks and snacks.
We were there about 4 hours including snack time. Parking costs extra so be sure to include that in your budget when you come here.
Very easy to get around. Staff was very helpful , especially Joe. We would recommend to all.
Seascape restaurant was great
We had a great time. Went early before the crowds and enjoyed the displays mostly to ourselves. Loved the 3D whale show at the Sphere.
It was a cute aquarium with some cool up close tanks. We ended up making it to a couple talks and the workers were super nice and informative. In the museum area there were people making fish and flowers out of coconut palms for guests and they were so cute!!
Our second time here and we love all the fish tanks. The turtles are amazing to watch, but our favorite is the sharks.
Beautiful displays. The whale 3D show was magnificent! Loved the restaurant on site. The Mai Tais were delicious.
I was disappointed in the aquarium. I was expecting more. And maybe some shows with the animals. Thought there would be more live animals...
This was fun but it was too hot inside every building! You really need AC inside all buildings with that many people!
Absolutely wonderful. More than we expected. So many things to see and local crafters on site. Best way to see below the ocean without a snorkel and flippers.
Plenty to see with a variety of species in their habitat. Clear information and good design for movement throughout the center. My husband and I spent three hours at The Maui Ocean Center. Great visuals.
Great place for young kids but overpriced for adults. It takes less than 1 hour to complete the tour so don’t pay parking more than 1 hour.
They canceled due to weather and we need a refund. They didn't send anything out saying they were going to close..
There were some cool exhibits but I expected to see more sea life and was very disappointed that the whale sphere experience was not showing the day we visited. So to me it was just ok and not worth the price.
So many sea creatures to see. So many colors, shapes and habits to learn about. The humpback whale film was an nice experience and the in person educators shared interesting information. We spent 2 hours and didn't take time for a drink or visiting the large gift shop. We are readers though.
Wonderful Ocean Center with the 3-D Whale experience being the highlight!
Well worth going to visit while in Maui!
