Lisboa Day Trip

The day trip from Lisboa to the coast was fantastic. Our guide, Jose Ribeiro, was as entertaining as he was informative. His depth of knowledge was impressive, his English was perfect, and his energy and humor made the several-hour trip move quickly. We were introduced to the Cascais fortress, the impressive Colares lighthouse and a unique vineyard growing their grapes in the sand near the shoreline. For lunch Jose took us off the beaten path to a restaurant perfectly located on the beach that we would've never found on our own. The views were as spectacular as the dishes we devoured. We toured the palace of Sintra and the very colorful palace of Pena. Both were full of interesting history and scenic views. If you're based in Lisboa and looking for a day-trip, this should be at the top of your list. If you can get Jose to guide you, even better.

Amazing tour! Loved the palace, and the grounds! If you have the time I would definitely recommend walking the grounds a bit, it’s very beautiful! Our tour guide, Oscar was wonderful, he did a great job and I would definitely recommend him!

We were picked up at our hotel to start this fabulous day. Sampled the local pastries and liquor filled chocolate. Arrived early to the Palace w/fast entrance to see everything before the lines started. Sightseeing of the coast and shoreline and an absolutely fantastic lunch overlooking the ocean!!! Thank You!!!

A Day in Sintra with Manuel

Manuel picked us up on time - and we were off to Sintra. We were to be in a shared van but it was just my husband and me in a car! Saw beautiful castles, forts, beaches, and the Pena Palace. Breathtaking! I highly recommend this trip and if you get Manuel - you'll be very fortunate.

It rained and the castle seemed to disappear into the mist.but the inside was interesting. Our guide was excellent. However the palace at Sintra was overcrowded due to a ship dumping multiple bus loaded of visitors at the location while we were there. Lunch recommendation was good, and the return to Lisbon via the shoreline was both interesting and pleasant.

This tour was excellent value. Our drivers were knowledgable and provided the background history of the areas we drove through. Pena palace was spectacular and the shopping time in Sintra was much appreciated. We were accomadated in every way possible. Loved the AC in the vans. I would go again!

This turned out to be a private tour for the two of us. Jorge was an excellent driver and guide. We enjoyed not only the time in Sintra but the coastal drive back to Lisbon. Jorge went the extra mile by returning us to our hotel instead of the distant gathering point.

Not to be missed!! What a great day out, having booked a shared tour we were on our own in a very comfortable MPV so it was arm chair transport with our own driver who tailored the tour based on our requirements with as much or little time spent at each location as we liked. Picked up at 9-00am at our hotel and returned at 5-30pm. What great value for money with a knowledgable, friendly and safe driver. Recommended as we saw things and places that we would not have see if we had organised this on our own. Sorry, I cannot remember the drivers name, he was excellent, but the company was Lisbon on wheels.
