One of the best tours you can take! Our guide, Tiago, was one of the best we had in Portugal! This tour shows you everything you need to see when visiting Sintra. The stunning views, the interesting palaces, and the main event, Pena Palace, are stunning, and you can enjoy them without waiting in line to get inside. I would highly recommend this tour to anybody visiting Portugal!

First of all, the tour guide makes the experience. Joaquin hit a home run by being extremely well informed, good natured, patience, accommodating, knew the best photos, and willingly took pictures. It was a long, "wonder" full day. In Sintra we had the best pastery and cappuccino. The Regaleira was a mystical experience. Pena Castle was a work of art. If I could give Joaquim 10 stars, I would.

Great full day tour of places around Lisbon

Mladen_M, Aug 2026
This is a really nice, full day long tour of major tourist destinations outside of Lisbon. In one full day it covers many places you would need to see with a great guide and lovely tour. It allows for just enough time to free roam while at the same time guides with many interesting stories through the eye of a local.

Great full day adventure

Bob_M, Aug 2026
Excellent, full day adventure. It covered all the sites, and our guide, Joao, was absolutely great! He shared the local perspective, and was a wealth of knowledge. The Lunch spot he picked was excellent! His timing, perfect for avoiding the crowds. Cannot say enough good things about this tour.

Fun and packed day

Joshua_W, Aug 2026
The tour allowed us to experience several things that would have been difficult to organize or do on our own. It’s a lot to fit into one day, but absolutely worth it. We ended up with a out 5 miles of walking but this is split up over several stops and doable for most people. The weather was also a lot cooler compared to Lisbon so an extra layer and food walking shoes are a must. Davide was an incredible guide and host who made the day special for our entire group. He had a relaxed and friendly demeanor and good sense of humor. We enjoyed the day start to finish with him. In the morning we were a little concerned about my mother in law's ability to walk the distance but Davide encouraged her and took extra care throughout the day. Davide’s great knowledge of history added valuable context and made me appreciate everything we saw even more. I would highly recommend this tour—and specifically Davide

Must do and the guide matters!

Heather_Y, Aug 2026
This is a must do if you are in this region and especially with guide. We are experienced travelers and we are selective about which tours we do with and without a guide. This trip far exceeded our expectations and we feel a guided trip to Sintra is the best way to go. Our guide was Joao. Request him! You will not be sorry. His depth of knowledge and his way of delivering it are bit philosophical/thought-provoking (even to those of us twice his age). He explained the symbolism of what was designed and built throughout the tour and was very thoughtful about the choices he made for our group throughout the day. Joao is an experienced guide, talking and joking with other guides as he lead us with good energy, and a very down to earth vibe. Thanks, Joao, for a fantastic day!

First Time Visitor to Portugal

Carol_P, Aug 2026
I was in Lisbon for a couple of days before a cruise. It was my first visit to Portugal, and I wanted to experience some of the local culture, so I chose this tour. I’m so glad I did! Our guide Hugo was very knowledgeable in Portuguese history and the sites we visited and how they fit in that history. Our first stop was Sintra itself and after a brief presentation about the history, we had some free time to explore on our own and have some coffee and pastries before walking to Quinta da Regaleira, the beautiful manor house and grounds. Our tour allowed us to see the first floor of the house. There was so much to see on the grounds and Hugo provided in-depth information. Our next stop was Pena Palace, which commands beautiful views of the Atlantic. We had the choice to walk up to the base of the palace or take the shuttle (associated cost). I chose to walk, which was a bit steep but not terribly long. Hugo gave us information about the palace before letting us explore a little on our own. Highlights were the chapel and scenic walk. Next we had a relaxing lunch, which you can opt into before the tour. It is a Prix-fixe lunch. Next we drove to Cabo da Roca for a brief stop, which is the western most point on the European continent. Our final stop was Cascais, which had originally been a fishing village but is now a coastal resort. This was a wonderful introduction to Portugal. I highly recommend this tour. Our tour bus held eight passengers, which was the number of people on our tour. The small group enhanced the quality of the tour. Word of caution, they are not kidding when they say steep cobblestone walkways. An accessible tour may be a better option if you have mobility issues.

Family vacation

SINDY_O, Aug 2026
Excellent tour to learn about Portugal’s cultural and religious history. The lunch option is a must, you’ll visit a traditional Portuguese family own restaurant. Ramon our tour guide was excellent! He is very knowledgeable and charismatic.

The title is good and representative of the experience

Don_S, Aug 2026
Absolutely great trip. Awesome insight from Ramos. He also did a masterful job of optimizing our time getting the most out of each stop. The itinerary was outstanding with each stop adding a new experience and a deeper appreciation of Portugal and its history.

Tour guide Patrick was excellent and showed his passion for sharing the history and culture of Portugal. He was very respectful and ensured everyone’s comfort and safety and also made sure the kids were enjoying themselves. He was very knowledgeable and I learned a lot. The tour is a bit long so I don’t recommend partying hard the night before. Do yourself a favor and get some rest so you can enjoy this excellent tour. Lunch was a nice meal at a charming restaurant with flowing wine. There were many stops for restroom breaks. All the sites were amazing. The tour ended with a genuine Portuguese hug which showed the kind person he is with a big heart. Thank you Patrick, your service is phenomenal!!

Had the best experience. Our guide, Davide, was seriously the best!!!! He was knowledgeable and witty. Made my friend and I, and the family we toured with, all very comfortable. 10/10. Would definitely recommend booking this tour!! Loved every stop we made.

The guide was historian and very smart, also local who knew area, and a great guide

NORMAN_F, Aug 2026
This experience gives you a good broad brush of all these areas. It is a full day of activities and learning. I would definitely recommend it.

Family trip.

Nick, Aug 2026
All was good, the driver was excellent. We all enjoyed this trip. My only issue is the hidden cost as in the beginning it was $500 + to start but after my total was just over $600 + and also had to pay $86 EU cash for one set of tickets so not very happy about this. I have book a lot of trips with is company and never had this issue before. So if you plan to do this excursion beware of all the extra money.

This was a great tour!...

Marla_Z, Aug 2026
This was a great tour! Our guide Bernardo was great and very informative. We were very lucky and there was only 4 of us on the tour. Sinta, Pena Palace, Regaliera, Cabo da Roca, & Cascais were all amazing! This was a great tour to get to see lots of the must-see places in southern portugal. We feel we had enough time in each of the places to explore and see what we needed to see. The tour was well-organized and it did not feel like a long day. The restaurant that we went to was great! The food was delicious and there was plenty of wine. Overall ,a fantastic tour and we would highly recommend!

Highly recommend!

Jessica_D, Aug 2026
Tiago was an excellent and friendly guide who gave so much insight into the history of Sintra. Patricia, who handled the organizing was responsive and communicated details seamlessly. The whole experience was amazing and completely stress free. Thank you so much!

Guided Tour to Sintra, Pena, Regaleira, Cabo da Roca and Cascais

Shanni_K, Aug 2026
Our Tour to Sintra, Pena, Regaleira, Cabo da Roca and Cascais was so much fun with Martinho! He was very knowledgeable and translated in English and Spanish for the eight of us on our tour. As we drive to our locations, he shared insight in what we were passing and the history. He answered all questions easily and was very informative. When we arrived in Sintra we had time to look around and he made great suggestions for pastries. We’re so glad that we took this tour and highly recommend it. Regaleira was interesting and the history was unique and Martinho’s knowledge was insightful. He took photos of us when asked, which captured some great memories for us. Cascais was perfect for lunch…as the usual spot they dine at was closed today, we loved the seaside atmosphere of Cascais. Santorini’s gelato was absolutely amazing! We had lunch at La Contessa and I especially loved the chicken and mango. The view from Cabo da Roca were breathtaking, but it may be challenging as the path has rocks everywhere. Found some really great tiles, cork postcards from their gift shop. We saw so much in one day and definitely recommend this tour. Wear comfortable walking shoes as there is a bit of walking throughout the day.
