Our guide was wonderful. We ran it some issues in Sintra because of a bike race but he was able to navigate it just fine. Even though it cost us some time he extended the tour to give us the full experience. He didn’t rush us to make up for lost time. Very knowledgeable on the history of both Sintra, Lisbon and the castle. Wonderful experience.

Well done. Tour guide very knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour. However, would ask Viator to reconsider the location of meeting place/drop-off point. Av Liberdade #9 is vacant storefront or possibly abandoned building. This location not very welcoming to tourists in my opinion.

Tour guide was very knowledgable and had a lot of information. While we read what was included and what wasn't included in the tour, they were not transparent. Basically what we bought for a lot of money was a ride to and from the castle/town of Sintra with a sample of port and sample of cheesecake. It outlined very clearly that tickets to the castle were not included. Great, we had no desire to go into the castle. However, we were shocked that upon arrival our guide was asking which tickets were we buying? I said, what do you mean? We are not going into the castle. I said we are going with you wherever you go. He got agitated and said you need a ticket-which ticket are you getting? The 4 other people on this tour were also caught by surprise that more money was to be spent on tickets to even enter the grounds. The guide asked, did you read the information sent to you? We all said yes. While the information clearly states that castle tickets are not included, it DOES NOT state anywhere that more money would need to be spent to even see the outside of the castle to enter the grounds. VERY disappointing to say the least. This has NEVER happened on any other tour where everything wasn't included. The castle is fabulous and has a lot of history and the town of Sintra is darling. A must see for sure while in the area. Just be warned on what you are purchasing. The car was clean and had a/c. The driver drove very fast and had us all very nervous. NOT KIDDING on this either. We think he was anxious to get back to Lisbon. The car had access to get past the point where many cars don't have access, that was great. We only had to walk a short bit up hill from that parking lot. You need a ticket to enter the grounds of the castle. You need another ticket to go inside the castle. Make sure you have good wlaking shoes because there is a lot of uphill walking.Glad we were able to see it, just wish there would have been transparancy on what we bought. A lot of money for a car ride.

I would 100% recommend this experience. I am 23 years old and came with my friend and Pedro was an incredibly attentive and immersive guide. He is very kind and outgoing and extremely knowledgeable on all things Portugal. We had a wonderful half day tour of the Pena Palace and that entire area and had plenty of stops and time to explore. He was the most amazing guide and very funny! Definitely a must do because of the incredible sites and history.

Great tour with a knowledgeable local guide. We visited two places in 5 hours in a comfortable mini van with a/c. It felt like enough time to explore Sintra and the palace. I would definitely recommend it!

Good guide but expensive for what you get.
Tickets to enter palace grounds extra. Interior and gardens not included. Basically a drive there from Lisbon and back again.

This is a highly recommended tour if you are staying in Lisbon a few days. It’s an easy drive and the castle is beautiful and truly unique. Our tour guide Carlos told us the rich history of this fairy tale palace as well as the town of Sentra itself. We toured this town after the palace. My only complaint is that the price of entry to the palace is not included in the price of the trip. I felt that the trip was expensive enough to include entrance fees. They sent a link to buy the tickets at the last minute which I didn’t even see. So we had to put out more money for this while at the location. I also would have preferred an opportunity to go inside the palace even if it meant not touring the town of Sentra. This wasn’t offered.

Olcay was knowledgeable and fun guide that was a perfect fit for the tour. He answered any and all questions no matter the subject. Our driver (can’t recall his name- from Penn State) took good care of us and made sure we arrived safely and on time despite the traffic. Not necessary to go into the palace to see 80% of it from the outside and explore the beautiful gardens.

Our excursion was to include a walk around the Sintra Palace; however, it was closed due to hot weather. As a result, we were offered more time at the other tour stops, which we agreed to. However, when we were getting ready to leave Sintra village we were stopped by the police because the van we were in didn't have a rear license plate. Our guide then told to visit a local cafe and have a drink until our driver settled with the police. That took about 1 1/2 hours. So, our day was shot and we decided to go back to our hotel. I must give the driver and our guide credit, (they paid for our drinks), for trying to make the best out of the situation, however, we wasted 4-5 hours of our day because someone didn't notice the missing license plate. I must note that we received a partial credit.

I feel robbed because I never got to see the palace. It was closed even at the time of tour sale. I got a call at about 10 o’clock saying the palace had been closed for the weekend due to extreme heat. I was not allowed a refund because I was within the 24 hour window. The sale of this ticket shouldn’t have never gone through. I still had to pay entry for secondary option in Sinistra. Second part of trip was in caicais for 30 minutes trying to avoid heat. Driver was late because he was stopped for a DUI. When we got to Sinistra our first stop was cherry shots with tour guide 😳.
Complete waste of money.

We categorically reject your accusation that our company "robbed" you. Such an allegation is false, unfair, and entirely unsupported by the facts,
The closure of Pena Park was an emergency safety measure imposed by the Portuguese authorities due to the extreme wildfire risk. This decision affected every tour operator in Sintra and was completely beyond our control,
Your booking was made at 19:39 on the evening before the tour. At 20:38, less than one hour later and well before the tour commenced, we proactively contacted you to inform you of the emergency closure and the revised itinerary. You voluntarily accepted the revised itinerary and proceeded with the tour.
At no point did you request a cancellation or a refund from our company. We have written records confirming these communications. It is therefore inaccurate to suggest that you were misled or that these changes were not clearly communicated before the tour,
Your review also contains statements that unfairly damage the reputation of our staff. Our guide was present at the designated meeting point at the scheduled meeting time of 08:30. Your review omits the fact that you contacted our guide at approximately 08:05- around 25 minutes before the agreed meeting time- asking where he was, despite the meeting time clearly being 08:30,
Your statement regarding our guide is equally misleading. The police stop you referred to was a routine traffic checkpoint, a standard procedure carried out regularly throughout Portugal. There was no alcohol-related incident, no misconduct, and no offence involving our guide. Suggesting otherwise is false and unfairly damages the reputation of a professional who conducted the tour with the highest standards of professionalism,
Your reference to the complimentary Ginjinha tasting is equally misleading. The implication that our guide acted under the influence of alcohol is completely false and unsupported by any facts,
Our reputation has been built through years of professionalism, transparency, and the trust of thousands of guests. We approach every situation with a people-first, service-oriented mindset. Our priority has always been to support our guests and provide the best possible experience, even when unforeseen circumstances are entirely beyond our control. The suggestion that we would deliberately mislead a guest or compromise those values over the value of a single booking is entirely unfounded,
