Our driver and guide Joāo was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and friendly he could not have done more to make our day a fabulous experience. Sintra is a must do when in Lisbon…but be aware you will spend lots of time queuing! He even went above and beyond when I had an accident and smashed my phone screen, finding us a repair shop who could fix it same day! And his lunch recommendation was superb. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic day with Jose as our guide and driver in Lisbon! Our original plan to visit Pena Palace and Monserrate had to change due to storm damage, but Jose quickly crafted a new itinerary that made the most of our day.
He took us to the National Palace of Sintra, led a walk through downtown Sintra, and brought us to Cabo da Roca, Azenhas do Mar, and beautiful Cascais. He even made lunch reservations at a cozy spot and handled everything with ease.
Jose was friendly, knowledgeable, and picked us up and dropped us off right at our place in Chiado. We felt completely taken care of, highly recommend touring with him!

The very good thing about the National Palace of Sintra in these situations is indeed the location of it, since the roads to Pena Palace, Moorish Castle, Quinta da Regaleira, Monserrate Palace, and the Convent of the Capuchos tend to be closed after storms due to damage they cause, but the National Palace of Sintra is the one that ends up staying open due to easy and safe access, besides being a beautiful monument with lots of history to tell of course.

Jose was just amazing! We enjoyed every minute of the tour! He is so knowledgeable and gave us an in depth description of all the monuments we chose, even Pena palace and the gardens. Bruno has taken us to all great places. We started with a morning in Cascais, then headed to Pena Palace, there was an issue with the Van and it was quickly taken care of which we kept on schedule. We stopped for lunch, not the favorite place for food but good. We then had Bruno went with us at Regaleira and gave us a great history about it! At the end we stopped at Cape Roca and finished in an incredible adventure driving through very narrow streets and being able to enjoy the local culture.

All in all it was a great trip despite the bad weather and getting a bit of altitude sickness. We had Joao as our guide. He was early for our pick up and overall a great guide. Shared a great deal about the places we were about to see, the places we passed and overall about life in Lisbon. We had really crappy weather and suffered from a bit of altitude sickness that day and ended up passing on our visit at Pena Palace. Wish that the weather had been better because I had high hopes of exploring Pena and taking pics of the property. Joao was kind enough to adjust the scheduled itinerary to accommodate us and ended up driving us around to see other sites. He totally went above and beyond to make the day a great one for us despite the crummy weather.

The tour guide Alexandra really needs to work on her EQ. I have traveled to many places, experienced many guides, but my tour experience with her was truly bad. I was traveling with my family - we had a group conversation later on and agreed that we will be returning to Lisbon, but will definitely never use this company again because of Alexandra.
The major example of her EQ-deficient behavior is how she handled our conversation on being charged for starter bread in some restaurants in Lisbon. When my parents and I told her we were shocked and unhappy that we got charged for starter bread, she turned the discussion into a stern, extremely rude lecture. "Well, you need to pay for what you order, so I don't know what you guys are unhappy about."
This is what she said at the beginning of the trip, which really soured the rest of our experience. We do not need a lecture that we should pay for food we order, which is extremely rude to say to people you just met. Some of the waiters knew that foreigners don't know they will be charged for starter bread, so they would set bread on the table and then charge us later. Most of the low-star ratings of restaurants involve disgruntlement on paying for starter bread, so it's not just us who feel this way. Starter bread is free in most other countries.
Other negative aspects:
- The tour ran over time and she wore her frustration on her face, which is unprofessional because not everything goes into plan (restaurant wait times, lines at historic sites, traffic, etc.)
- When narrating the tour in the car, she would constantly wave her fingers well into the front passenger's space and sometimes millimeters from the front passenger's face, which is extremely rude. Personal space is common sense

We adjusted our tour pickup and drop off and this company was more than happy to oblige, and all the communications were good. Then we had the best tour with Alexandra. Perfect day for visits to Pena Palace and Monserrate Palace. Then great fresh fish for lunch by the beach. Alexandra had great English, wonderful local knowledge and obviously loved her job. That was evident when the roads to our hotel were blocked. She kept us calm and got us safely to our destination. Great day all around. Thanks

Paolo is an excellent guide and provided much historical background to the area and monuments that we visited. Since he did not accompany us into the respective sites, he gave us clear instructions on where he would collect us when we were ready to continue to the next stop. The tour allows the choice of two sites out of the three, but Paolo was more than happy to extend the tour if we wanted to see all three. In the end we visited the Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira. Both sites were worth the visit and each was different from the other. After a full day visiting these and the historic town of Sintra (great pastries), we stopped by Cabo da Roca, most westerly point on Europe's mainland, and the historic seaside resort of Cascais. It was a truly memorable day.

We chose this tour option as it provided the option to pick which Sintra sites to visit, and to have the day organized by our private tour guide. It was wonderful: our guide Paulo was charming, personable, prompt, well-informed about all the sites, and incredibly flexible. After a traffic jam delayed our itinerary, Paulo gave us two extra hours of his time to make sure we got to see everything. He chose a lovely restaurant for our lunch, and enhanced our experience in every way. The Sintra area is amazing, and we recommend this tour option without reservation! Thank you again, Paulo!

Marta was our private guide for a full day in Sintra-Cascais. She was wonderful. From the moment she picked us up she made us feel welcome, entertained us and shared her knowledge. Victhor was an exceptional guide. Between smooth driving location to location, plentiful knowledge of the history of Sintra and Portugal, good humour and great conversation; Victhor made the day both good fun and informative.
With an uncanny ability to help us find the short queues, and a seeming ability to bring out the sun, I cannot recommend Victhor highly enough. We saw everything on the tour, at a relaxed pace, and Victhor even phoned ahead at an excellent seafood restaurant by the sea.

This is not a tour, it is basically transportation only. It is fine for the price, since it is cheaper than renting a car and paying for gas. The driver (Paola) was very nice and courteous, tried to give us some information about the area, but his English was a bit limited. Overall, we got exactly what we were looking for and had a pleasant day visiting the area.
