This was an interesting experience. The process is a bit confusing but we figured it out with help from our teacher and each other. Lots of tracing, erasing and painting. Very little interaction with the teacher other than instruction. She's obviously talented and made our designs better. There is a lot of down time while she works with her computer to finalize and produce the tiles. A few books or a video about tile making or history would have been appreciated. We simply chatted amongst ourselves. The location is her home. Shocked she didn't neaten up the restroom. Didn't really appreciate seeing her personal mess. Overall the process resulted in a handmade tile to take home as a souvenir of Lisbon.

I normally do not write reviews but I just had to share the wonderful experience we had making our very own tile. Our instructor was very patient and knowledgeable- a true artist. Everything in her home studio was beautiful! This was the perfect activity to cap off our trip to Lisbon. Thank you so much!

Unique experience not to be missed

This workshop was a delightful way to start our trip in Lisbon! In a small, cozy group, everyone received plenty of personalized attention from the instructor, making the experience even more special. Although it lasted about 4 hours—longer than the original 2.5 hours—it's a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself fully. You might want to bring along some snacks just in case you get hungry, but don't worry, the host happily serves tea, coffee, and sweets. Creating your own tile design from scratch, painting it, and then watching the host transform it into a printable tile was absolutely unique. The best part? You get to keep both your original paper design and the beautiful tile version—such a memorable keepsake!

This was really fun. I did this event solo and met really wonderful people from all over the world. It was a small group of just 5 of us but it was really nice and fun learning how to make our patterns. What’s really great is everyone got to go home with a tile they created!

The provider invites you into her home to design an actual tile. She provides templates, patience, and other materials so that you walk away with your own designed tile. Such a unique experience related to Portugal!! We loved it!!
