the guide was really informative and nice. he took us to some cool places. I would recommend their service highly.
Adriana_A, Aug 2026
The tour felt a bit rushed at times, as if we were running late on each stop. The views were nice though, our tour guide was on the lookout for wildlife during the entire tour.
Rebecca_O, Aug 2026
The tour guide needs to either talk louder or get a microphone and speaker for the van. The people on the van past the first row could not hear him. He got defensive when I told him we could not hear him. We were supposed to see salmon spawning and did not see them.

If all other excursions are sold out, you might want to consider this as a last resort only. Really anti-climatic and a bit expensive for what you get. The promo photo shows a bear with a salmon in its mouth, but you're highly unlikely to see a bear.

Tour was okay. Could not hear or understand guide Shane while sitting in the back. He said he was yelling. When asked to speak up he got defensive and said he had asked others if they could hear okay. Of course being in the back, I never hear that conversation. I think he needs to rest his vocal cords. He is very knowledgeable.

We didn’t feel that it was quite as it was described to be. We had Norman for our driver and he was very difficult to understand. He spoke very fast. I know he was very knowledgeable, but did not do a very good job of getting information to us.
Debra_L, Aug 2026
The stop activity locations were good and the guide was personable, but continually spoke of her personal experiences and family and left us on our own . She did not give us information about the stops. I like to hear details and history at the stops and how and where to look for things. She did share a few specifics at the bear stop.

Hit and miss on seeing animals.

Driver scary. Drifted all over road looking around
Elizabeth_S, Aug 2026
Tour guide was miserable. Couldn’t understand him. Spent more time at totem poles than anything else. Wouldn’t give us time frames for each place. Whistled to get someone’s attention. Quite rude

Seaside Tours and our tour guide Shane was fantastic. His respect for the culture and land was highlighted thru his information and stories. We saw Eagles, Whales, Bears and a starfish. He am so pointed out juvenile eagles who were feeding. I wish we could have gotten out at the salmon ladder in creek street but we were able to do that on our own. We appreciated the information on local restaurants as well.

Great all in one tour, plenty to see, however the tour is overly priced. The tour guide was excellent and very knowledgeable.
SF_W, Aug 2026
It was just as we hoped it would be. We had a very knowledgeable guide, he knew the area and where to go for us to see wildlife. My only suggestion is to find a vehicle that would be more accommodating/comfortable for seniors...OR to designate seats, other than the back seats, that would be easier for seniors to enter and exit the van.

Our guide was fantastic . She grew up there and shared her personal stories and struggles . Pointed out things . And we went off the beaten path . Your was great she made it amazing .

Our guide (sorry can't remember his name, Michael?) Was great. Personable and kind. Not much wildlife but a fun time.

As I didn’t see a clear description of this tour when booking, perhaps the following information will help others. The tour took place at stops about 20 minutes from town with minimal descriptions from the guide. The first stop was at a roadside wayside of rocks and kelp; next stop was at a roadside waterfall where you view it from the road; next stop was along Herring road near the fish hatchery for potential bear sitings (saw none, not the guide’s fault obviously). Other tourists had taken the 20 minute ride to Herring Rd via a Yellow cab to visit this spot; last stop was Saxman Totem Park.
I was expecting for a bit of history of the area, it ended up being a ride to the described areas above.

The experience was wonderful, but our driver, Archie, had to detour and go to get gas, which took about 15 minutes. Our next watch was viewing the bears and when we got off the van, we were there less than five minutes when he told us to get back on the van because we had to make it to our next stop. The bears were out and we were all trying to get pictures when he made us leave. His procrastination in being ready with for our trip with gas was not our fault, yet, it shortened our enjoyment. This was not appreciated.

Shane did a great job of showing us things others may not... bears, bald eagles, and salmon being caught! He has lived in Ketchikan most of his life and his connection to the community and the stories was appreciated. He allowed the expected stops to be extended to allow us to wait for the bear to show itself. He also took the time to return us to our ship. He gave us the straight story about the area, the community the respect he and others have for the place they call home. If I make it back there, I will look him up!
Constance_S, Jul 2026
Great ride around town seeing and visiting popular sights. Our group saw bears, eagles, and local native sights.
Chris_A, Jul 2026
Our guide Shane was very informative. The opportunity to see wildlife was amazing. We saw a bear, seal, so many eagles.
Cheryl_N, Jul 2026
Shane was excellent and giving us the insider view of Canada and ketchacan. He was determined to have us see wildlife, stopping often to show us the beauty of the area.
Anna_T, Jul 2026
Oir guide was very knowledgeable about the area - saw many bald eagles, a bear, and a seal. Definitely recommend!
Julie_L, Jul 2026
good sightseeing trip….we saw bald eagles but no bears. The travel van is small and tight. I sat in the passenger side and was fine but people in the back were uncomfortable.
Rosalind_F, Jul 2026
Lovely general overview of Ketchikan. Enjoyed every stop we made. Our guide/driver Norman was full of information but very difficult to understand.
Sharon_A, Jul 2026
Outstanding experience with a wonderful guide, Mr. Norman. He was great and very knowledgeable about the area and heritage. I would highly recommend this excursion if you want to experience the beauty in Ketchikin. Very enjoyable day!!
Beverley_K, Jul 2026
This tour was an excellent way to see many wonderful Ketchikan sights in a small group ( 9 people in our group). We visited all of the sights listed on the description and our driver /guide Mike Quick was superb! There was enough time to spend at each site without feeling hectic or rushed .Mike demonstrated a wide depth of knowledge about so many things and he was very friendly .
Dolores_S, Jul 2026
We had a great time. Thanks to Stormin’ Norman! He really educated us on the area, he knows a lot about everything!! We saw a ton of Eagles and even a black tail deer. Thanks for making this such an enjoyable experience!
Ivana_F, Jul 2026
The tour itself was nice, but we felt very rushed the entire time. The tour guide warned us at the beginning that he was a stickler for time, and he definitely wasn't kidding. Every stop felt rushed, and we barely had enough time to take photos before it was time to leave. If I had known we wouldn't have much time at each location, I would have visited these places on my own instead. Also, don't expect the itinerary to be followed exactly. Some of the stops, especially the waterfall, didn't allow nearly enough time to really enjoy the experience. Overall, it was a good tour, but I wish we had more time at each destination.
Tammy_R, Jul 2026
Shane with Seaside tours was fantastic! He patiently waited for us when we couldn’t find him ( my fault)
Then took his time to show us all the hidden gems and Ketchikan secret spots to see bears, which we did. Would highly recommend!
Alex_D, Jul 2026
We were lucky and practically had a private tour since no-one else turned up.
Morgan (I believe this was his name), although 80 years old, had plenty of energy and a lot of information to give us. As we are italian we may have missed something but he was gracious when asked to explain. I am glad we had a local and native take us around.
Colin_O, Jul 2026
A great little tour. Norm was our guide. A very interesting and informative gentleman- we saw some lovely places. Didn’t unfortunately see any of the suggested wildlife apart
From some eagles but that just happenes
