Great tour! Loved our time with the bald eagles! The wildlife and waterfalls were beautiful. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time on the Tongass Trolley Tour! Our guide, Richard Jolly, was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and shared so much interesting information about Ketchikan’s history, wildlife, and Native culture. His enthusiasm made the tour both fun and informative.
The highlight for us was Herring Cove. Although we didn’t see any bears (they clearly had other plans that day! 😄), we saw an amazing amount of wildlife, including countless bald eagles, a harbor seal, a deer, and two beautiful Steller’s jays. We also enjoyed the stop at Rainbow Falls, which was absolutely beautiful, and the visit to the Totem Heritage Center, where we learned more about Alaska Native history and the stories behind the totem poles.
One thing we especially appreciated was that we had explored downtown Ketchikan on our own before the tour. Because of that, we had already visited Creek Street and the Salmon Walk, so we didn’t mind that the trolley only drove past those areas rather than stopping. If those sites are high on your list, I would recommend exploring them before or after your tour.
Overall, this was a relaxing, informative excursion with beautiful scenery, plenty of wildlife, and an excellent guide. We had a great time and would definitely recommend the Tongass Trolley Tour to anyone visiting Ketchikan.

Informative tour and mild activity for the elderly. Accessibility is easy from the ship. Tour guide was knowledgeable and personable.

Chris was fantastic! We had a good time exploring. Even on a rainy day we all had a good time. Thank you!

It is a ride with a few stops. Wildlife viewing is not guaranteed so we only saw bold eagles. Our guide Christopher made it up with a wealth of information and a great sense of humor. A stop at the totem museum was great - wished we had more time there.

Trolley tour was very easy to find, right across from visitors center. My husband rides a mobility scooter and they were able to store the scooter at the office inside til we got back. Thanks again for the great tour! We also saw lots of amazing eagles!

It’s a good way to get about if you don’t have transport … and if you’re lucky you may get to see some good stuff in Herring Cove, but IMO you could probably pinpoint the things you fancy and go there direct / independently

We had Christopher as our tour guide, he was amazing. We saw Bear, Deer, lots of bald eagles, and so much more. He shared his vast knowledge of this town and it's people. This tour is worth every dime. Would do it again in a heartbeat

We did an Alaskan cruise that stopped in Ketchikan. While there we did the 2.5 hour Tour with Tongass Trolley. i'm terrible remembering names, so i can't mention his name, however he was the BEST tour guide ever! He was very knowledgeable and took us to the best spots to see Salmon, eagles and learn about totem polls. I left my hat on the trolley and he was so kind to get it back to me before my ship left. I definitely recommend this company's tour.

Excellent information by our guide/driver, Christopher. We got to get out and walk some so not just riding. Saw 5 eagles in one tree in Herring Cove ! Amazing 🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅

Couldn’t find bus. Left 1/2 hr early for a 5 min walk. Went to every bus. No one knew where we should go, only that we were in the right place. Had to purchase a different Tongus trolley trip. It was 1 1/2 hr $55.00 pp

Meeting point for this tour was at the statue called the Rock an easy walk from the cruise ship. The Trolley was overbooked and we had a van driven by Juan if you have the opportunity GO he was a local gentleman very knowledgeable he took us to see all the local sights 🐻 bear, eagles included with a great insight into life in Ketchikan. Thank you Juan a truly wonderful day. ⭐️

What a great time. We truly enjoyed it. We got to see eagles feeding. Learned a little about the town.

Reasonable priced excursion. Good price for value. Great tour guide , very personable. Good photo ops along the way.
Aki_I, May 2026
The local staff who guided us to the bus were very polite and kind. Our guide/driver also gave detailed explanations at each location we visited, which made the tour very enjoyable and informative. It was unfortunate that the weather was not very good, but aside from that, I highly recommend this tour.

Interesting tour in the trolley showing us the sights of Ketchikan. It was a very wet day but jet dry in the trolley bus. Great tour guide.
Susan_P, May 2026
This was a fun and informational trip in Alaska! We had a fun and entertaining guide, Juan. He took great care of us and showed us sights we would have never gotten to see if we had gone on our own.
Christopher_H, May 2026
Christopher was an awesome tour guide. Being a local, he had a lot of insight and knowledge beyond the average guide. The weather wasn't the best when we took our tour but Christopher made the best of it and still made the tour very enjoyable. We were able to see a bald eagle and a could of deer. We were a little too early to see the salmon, but again, Christopher kept us well informed and entertained. Overall, I wish the weather was better, but 10/10 would recommend.
Layne_P, May 2026
We traveled with Christopher. Incredibly knowledgeable and fun. It was raining the whole time. He provided everyone with small towels to wipe off or dry windows. He was well prepared. Well worth it. Saw some wild deer and eagles.
Thomas_B, May 2026
Our tour guide Juan was wonderful! Very knowledgeable and personable plus he’s a resident and knew all the secret places!
Ruben_F, May 2026
Chris is great, very knowledgeable and knows everyone around the island. Saw eagles, but no bears or whales this time.
Anne_Z, May 2026
Fabulous tour! Christopher was sooo knowledgeable about Alaska and especially Ketchikan. He has a great voice for narration and mixes great humor in. I felt like a good friend was showing us around!!

5/7/26 Operators (can't remember names, but first guy was from Florida and then the tour guide who lived in Davao :-)) called and picked us up because we were running late. Great service! Great stops and info along the way. So generous with their time!
Karen_P, May 2026
There were only 4 of us on the late tour so we were in a comfortable van with a personal guide Juan who was great - took us to all the key spots and a few extras - very knowledgeable and answered all our questions 🤩 we were glad we got outside of the town centre and by picking later trip we had most venues to ourselves rather than being swamped with multiple tour buses! There were 5 cruise ships in town so very busy everywhere
lori_b, May 2026
It was a great tour with a wonderful tour guide. Christopher gave his all! He was so knowledgeable, funny, and obviously loves his job. I really felt like I learned so much with a funny twist. It really seemed like he cared about us and this special island.
Heather_S, May 2026
Great tour! Chris was a wonderful tour guide! Very informative and helpful. Would highly recommend this tour
Emily_C, May 2026
When we arrived for our tour were pleasantly surprised w/ the crew at the dock! Being nervous we wouldn't make it back in time to the ship as we scheduled a later time. Instead of a trolley tour they offered us a private van w a driver. 10/10 ⭐️Juan⭐️ was incredibly knowledgeable and professional. Each stop he opened our doors and helped our elders in and out of the van. We never felt rushed and got to see so many special spots that we would not have been able to otherwise! The best part we did not have to shuttle back to Ward’s Cove. We got dropped off right at the ship. Thank you for everything Juan! Until next time :)

Delightful driver with big personality driving us through town, up to the waterfall, the river bridge, and return. Uninspiring. Uneventful. Better than nothing - if it were $35 per person - so there was VERY LITTLE value for money spent. Tour operator should be more transparent and say, “you’ll drive up the road, and you’ll drive back down the road”.
Barb_N, Oct 2025
It was so cool having Christopher share his knowledge and love of Ketchikan with us!
He was very patient if we wanted to wait, just for the chance to see wildlife! He knew where they would be!
Great experience!!
Ivonne_A, Oct 2025
We arrived in Ketchikan and did not make it to our meeting location on time. Our driver Christopher picked us up where the shuttle left us. We really appreciated that so we would not miss our tour. He was very knowledgeable and friendly and really knows a lot about the area. He took us around town and tried for us to see bears, but they were hiding. I would highly recommend this tour when you are visiting Ketchikan to get the most of your time there.
