It was great to see Ketchikan in a small tour. We were not disappointed. We saw a lot in our short time here in town. Shane, the guide, knows the area very well and gave us lots of interesting information. We saw 3 bears, some beautiful waterfalls, lots of salmon and a few seals. Also saw nice tidepools with beautiful starfish.
I recommend this good, small independent tour company. Good bang for the buck too!

Seriously the best tour ever. Shane was the best tour guide. He was so knowledgeable and gave us so much information on Alaska that we didn’t know. Some of the people had gone on a tour specifically to see bears and did not see any. Shane went out of his way to find bears. We ended up seeing tons of bears, eagles, salmon, seals, otters, etc. So awesome! I would give this tour a million stars if I could! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Your tour guide sent me a text on July 3 at 7:30pm. Asking to change my excursion to 8:00am on July 4, I replied that my ship NCL Joy arrived at 8;00am. That was impossible for me to get there at 8:00am. She never responded to me.I order for me experience Ketchikan, I took another tour, that cost me extra money. When booking the tour, I said I was on a cruise. That's why I picked 10:30am. My ship arrives at 8:00am. Which will give me enough time to get to the meeting point.

The 4th of July parade route was moved 3 times due to road construction. We do apologize for the inconvenience. And a refund was issued.

Shane, our guide from Seaside Tours, was very personable and gave a wonderful tour. We enjoyed an abundance of wildlife (Bears, Eagles, Tide Pools), a waterfall, and a visit to Bight Totem park. At each stop, Shane gave colorful commentary and was very informative. Shane was extremely accommodating and let our group guide how long we stayed at each location. Shane gave a fantastic tour with a personal touch that made it unforgettable!!! We would strongly recommend this tour with a true "Alaskan" guide! Ten Stars!!!

Let me start out by saying, we have used Viator previously and have always had a first-class experience. This tour Definitely was not up to Viator standards. It started off when we got to the meeting location a half hour early. All of the other tours held signs up and wore identifying shirts/jackets. Our tour leader showed up disheveled, looking like he had a rough night with no identification whatsoever. Once we realized this was our guide, things went downhill. The van was completely saturated in smoke and the upholstery in the van looked like it had seen better days. To make matters worse the a/c didn’t work which made getting any fresh air impossible. The ride was like sotting in an ash tray for 2 hours. There were no windows that were operational. The guide we had was a nice enough guy but we were his second tour in life. This really appeared to be the dollar tree special. Viator we have seen how much better you can be. This tour should not be offered on your web site. I do not recommend this tour.

We at Seaside love to hear feed back an constructive criticism.
We are a small growing local company. Our business took a big hit during the Covid. After that a house fire destroyed most everything. An to top it off. The owner of our company passed.
We are moving forward. We have one new van. An many new upgrades to our company are coming. We are very thankful to still be able to continue in the tour industry. Showing our beautiful island to our many happy visitors.

Probably one of the worst Viator experiences with this tour. The description did not describe our tour at all. Our tour guide was more willing to share her personal life and story then talking about the town or area. Stopped at some random rocky beach. Why? nobody knows guide said this is where he family likes to go and we should check out some nature here If i were in 2nd grade. We stayed there for about 20 min while people took pics of well nothing but themselves on a beach. Next stop...oh wait we missed it was supposed to be a possible whale viewing area. we just skipped that part because she hasnt seen any whales as we were driving by. Next stop a random water fall next to the road. I guess its a town favorite to hang at and take pics. Next stop a river looking for wildlife. Stopped there by a popular river area where bears are usually seen hunting for salmon We were told there are bears there all the time and even seen 5 just before we were picked up. Guess what...no bears however we did see a few flying Eagles. Its nature I get it, but another wasted stop for 30 min waiting on a random bear to show up. Finally on to our last stop to totem pole nation. Cool place bad story telling of what they were. Completely lost my interest once the rambling started.
Complete waste of time and money and I will be asking for a refund for this trip.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME on this one.

The rocky beach is where we view lots of sea creatures. That same beach many groups have been lucky enough to see whales from that very same beach. The bears are never promised. And definitely isn't a wasted stop. An the totem pole stories were being told to you be our native driver. So what you call rambling. Was history.... you seen whales eagles an got true history.
Your group was mad from the start when we waited 7 mins past tour time for a late group. We apologize that nothing you seen or heard meet your standards of tours

Shane was a great guide and knew just where to take us to see wildlife away from the crowds. He was super knowledgeable about local culture and history. Highly recommend this tour....it was perfect for our cruise port day!

Our guide was very knowledgeable and shared some of his experiences with us about living in Ketchikan since he was a teenager. The highlight for me was the visit to the Totem Park. Fascinating stories about many of the totems and U.S. history. Highly recommended.

Shane was a great and informative guide. We had a lot of rain but it didn’t dampen the experience. We appreciated the effort to find whales, eagles, and salmon. The totem poles were a highlight.

Shane was very knowledgeable and was a great tour guide! We really appreciated his respect for the Indigenous culture which came through in all that he explained to us. He is a resident of Ketchikan and showed us some great places that the locals know.

The local tour operator scheduled earlier departure and our cruise was very far from the pick up location. He mislead us and we lost $184.00. He wouldn’t refund our money.
He didn’t make any effort to pick up us or reschedule the tour. Most tours were 9:00 am except this man . Do not book any tours with Viator. It’s little bit more money but the Cruise takes full responsibility.
STAY AWAY FROM VIATOR. They have no control of local tour operators.

Alaska really nice. Unfortunately unfortunately the Van that we got on was broke it had to be jumped to start it the power steering and other noises and shaking, the driver was like going a 100 miles an hour on a really narrow road the seats there were almost falling apart it was expensive for the service that we received. We didn't do nothing on the entire excursion we were taken to the salmon Hatchery but we did not see anything at all. The driver was really rude at times, unprofessional service. Overall what we did was not worth the price. We rode up and bank down one hour wasted. 100 % do not recommend

Loved seeing the salmon in the ladder with the rushing water and the Saxon Totem park.
Mason was very helpful and informative and made our visit to Ketchikan enjoyable.

Saw some pretty sights and tourist areas but trip was not as advertised. Did not visit either of parks and drivers had limited knowledge of anything other than own personal experiences. Also let some passengers take to much time for numerous photos while rest waited on them limiting time at sights.

We were given the tour by a local friend of the owner who was filling in, and got a great insight into what life is like for local residents. We saw some places that perhaps others would not see. However, the advertised itinerary was not followed at all- we did not get to the Totem Bight National Park, or the Potlatch Totem Park, for which admissions were supposed to be part of our cost included. We did not see a salmon hatchery, Creek Street, or tide pools. I feel that we should have been given this information up front.

Loved the beach stop and the salmon ladder stop. We were a bit disappointed with the amount of time driving to the waterfall and then hanging out at the spot looking for bear though. Overall we liked the guide, but didn’t quite feel the value was there.

Michael did a great job with timing to miss the crowds and was very knowledgeable about local customs and the history of what we saw. He did a great job of answering questions too.
