Meet your pilot in Ketchikan and climb aboard your floatplane. During the flight, your pilot shares commentary via your headset, which also offers a musical soundtrack.
Ascend over Tongass Narrows, a body of water located between Ketchikan and Gravina Island, and fly past Ketchikan. Stare in wonder at the beauty of Tongass National Forest as you soar over Revillagigedo Island to Misty Fjords National Monument, about 40 miles (64 km) east of town.
Traveling through a low-hanging mist that gives the region its name, take in views of fjords, cliffs, and rock walls jutting straight out of the water. Waterfalls cascade down narrow granite passages, and dense forests of hemlock and spruce cover the vertical slopes.
Your pilot navigates over Rudyard Bay, giving you a fantastic vantage point of New Eddystone Rock, a remnant of early volcanic activity. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife like wolves, bears, deer, and eagles.
Your floatplane tour ends with drop-off back in Ketchikan.

Very disappointed! This was to be the highlight of the Alaskan Cruise. At the time the excursion was to start it was cancelled. All other float plane excursion companies were operating. We were told in the Ketchikan Visitors Center this company was notorious for cancelling at the last minute. Would not recommend them!
Srinivas_K, Jul 2026
Due to weather it was canceled and hoping to get full refund soon from viator..the vendor said they will refund

Alaska from the air is incredible! The scenery is breathtaking. So many sites can only be seen from the air! Do them ALL!
Julie_M, Jul 2026
Had a lot of potential, but at the last minute it was canceled. it seemed like they could’ve just postponed the trip for a short drive. There were many many boats that did takeoff in land in the morning. I totally understand that at our exact time we were supposed to depart was not ideal weather
Patti_N, Jul 2026
Im not sure why we were canceled as it was 60 degrees and sunny, and they said it was due to weather. We watched all planes go out all day
I don't want to comment on the actual tour as it wouldn't be fair but disappointed it was canceled during fantastic weather.
Mari_K, Jul 2026
This was an excellent tour, we debated between going by boat or on a float plane. We are so glad we went with the plane. The views were amazing.
Grant_W, Jul 2026
My pilot was awesome and the ride was not as bumpy as I thought a small plane would be-so smooth! And the views were remarkable and the knowledge shared was great!

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Alaska! The floatplane flight over Misty Fjords was absolutely breathtaking. Seeing the dramatic cliffs, waterfalls, pristine lakes, and untouched wilderness from the air gave us a completely different perspective of Alaska's incredible beauty.
The pilot was professional, knowledgeable, and made the flight enjoyable from beginning to end. The views were spectacular, and there were so many great opportunities for photos.
If you're visiting Ketchikan, this is an experience you shouldn't miss. It was amazing from start to finish and absolutely worth it. Highly recommend!

This trip was awesome. We were in the air for about an hour and loved every minute. Seeing the fjords from above was a great way to go. We had a clear day so no “mist” which might have made the views even better.
Cristie_J, Jul 2026
We had an amazing day in the sky with our pilot Paul. The weather was gorgeous and he pointed out some amazing things as we flew over the Alaskan wilderness. Sooooo good.
Florence_H, Jul 2026
Our pilot was awesome and so informative. We learned so much about the different lakes. Amazing views you can only get from the seaplane.
Jamie_B, Jul 2026
We had an amazing time and had the most perfect weather to fly over Misty Fjords. The views were absolutely breathtaking! We felt safe the entire time and would highly recommend it!
Ramakrishman_V, Jul 2026
The trip was very good. We enjoyed the view of the fjords. A worthwhile experience. Would recommend this tour
Marilyn_B, Jul 2026
The one hour flight was spectacular! The views from the huge window were nonstop amazing. Alaska truly is the last frontier.
I’m happy I splurged so my husband and I could see Ketchikan from the air.
dyanne_b, Jul 2026
We had to take the shuttle to town and then ride back to the airport area where the sea planes takeoff so depending on where your cruise ship docs will depend where you get on. The trip was well organized, and the pilot was definitely well seasoned. We went over some breathtaking glaciers and lakes. He told us where we were every step of the way the landing in the water was seamless.

Once in a lifetime experience. The misty fjords can only be experienced in its true magnitude by plane. Our pilot was great. Gave us info when we needed it, but didn’t talk incessantly during the whole ride, which allows us to just enjoy the absolute beauty. They conveniently picked us up from town right off our cruise ship and brought us to the terminal and then brought us back right in front of our cruise ship. We had amazing clear sunny weather, but note that this is very weather dependent and if you’re in port on a rainy foggy day, they will cancel it so have a Plan B.

If you do nothing else, do this. I never cry, and this made me tear up. I love Alaska, and this is a perspective that you should see to understand the landscape and his of the area. We booked independently because we were staying for a week, not on a cruise.
And Pilot Joe was amazing!
Dallas_H, Jul 2026
It was a unique experience. Beautiful views everywhere. The pilot was very friendly. The views can't be beat.
Chen_C, Jul 2026
They canceled us 20mins before the pick up and completely ruined our day at ketchikan. If you book this tour, please be very careful about cancelation. Better to get a more reliable tour operator
Dave_G, Jun 2026
Our pilot Cassie was awesome. She knew I as anxious about flying and kept checking on me.
We flew so close to the mountains/fjords it was breathtaking! Would highly recommend.
DARELL_N, Jun 2026
Was incredible! I am actually afraid of heights & airplanes make me nervous but this was nothing like I had thought it would be. Smooth flying and incredibly smooth take off and landing! Once in the air you are overwhelmed by the incredible views that thoughts of the height literally escaped my mind! I would do this again and again. Staff and pilot were wonderful!
RonPetit, Jun 2026
Great, Great scenic flight. Paul our pilot was a very smooth operator. I would recommend going through Viator if you go.
Adrienne_A, Jun 2026
We flew with a two year old and it was seamless from beginning to end. Our pilot, Max, was top notch - never had a care in the world! Overall great experience!
Connie_K, Jun 2026
I flew with Magie, who was very pleasend enough but she had her dad with her who was sitting in the front with her, and they mostly spoke among themselves. no explanation to the passengers at all. we flew an hour and nothing was shared to us about the flying or where we were. I was very disappointed for sure. the flight in it self was great, but sure would of loved some information where we were flying over.
Thomas_C, Jun 2026
What a great experience we saw the wilderness of Alaska like not many people see it
Our pilot was phenomenal wish I could remember his name,
I have been in many small engine planes with lots of pilots, I watched this guys touch on the throttles and pitches and he was obviously an expert with years of experience and loved his job. . And his narrative was as good as his flying
Also I have never flown in a beaver which is one of the most iconic great north airplanes of all times BONUS
This was so worth the cost we did 5 or 6 excursions in Alaska and this was by far our favorite
Wendy_S, Jun 2026
Worth every penny; first class operation from the pick up at the cruise dock to the driver and personnel at their office to our pilot. Lovely, lovely day
Becky_J, Jun 2026
Missed a phone call from the company, I called them back, I was informed that the weather conditions were unsafe for the flight, rain and dense fog. The flight is cancelled and the full amount will be refunded. I love the decisive responses and safety concerns. 👍❤️

Amazing views! Pilot was very informative ! Beautiful day for a flight ! Everything was amazing from start to finish.

It was amazing
The pilot was great so was the young lady at the statue where we met. The driver who picked us up both ways was so good. Very knowledgeable. Everyone was super knowledgeable and polite and welcoming. It was fantastic! The pilot had music to go with narration about the area. It was truly a perfect experience!

Misty Fjords National Monument is exquisite. Touring this wilderness by air is the only way to sense its majesty. Our floatplane crew and pilot were professional and knowledgeable. The gave us an outstanding tour.
