Ascend over Tongass Narrows, a body of water located between Ketchikan and Gravina Island, and fly past Ketchikan. Stare in wonder at the beauty of Tongass National Forest as you soar over Revillagigedo Island to Misty Fjords National Monument, about 40 miles (64 km) east of town.
Traveling through a low-hanging mist that gives the region its name, take in views of fjords, cliffs, and rock walls jutting straight out of the water. Waterfalls cascade down narrow granite passages, and dense forests of hemlock and spruce cover the vertical slopes.

Float plane and glacier views, what an amazing experience! Getting a taste of what life is like for the locals by flying on one of the planes that is the local postal service. You get to see so much more from the air, it was beautiful.

This is some of the worst communication I've dealt with as far as an excursion. I originally booked an excursion for 8am where we were supposed to meet 10 minutes before at 750. I get a call at 743, 7 minutes before we're supposed to meet, that the tour was cancelled due to fog. Now I don't blame the company for the fog because that's completely out of their control. But contacting me 7 minutes before the tour starts is something that is completely in their control. But either way, Megan called and told me they could move me to the 945 one. Perfect. Fast forward. It's 945 and I’m at the meeting point. No one from the company is there and we were supposed to meet 10 minutes beforehand. In my mind I'm like it can't be cancelled because surely they would communicate that right? Nope. I had to call them just for them to say "Oh hold on, oh yea, that excursion was cancelled again" Again, I don't blame the company for the cancellation but communication to let me know this was absolutely horrible and I wasted a morning because of it. And at this point it was too late for me to book another excursion before my cruise ship left because I had spent so much time waiting for the company to communicate to me that the tour was cancelled.

This was an amazing trip. Flying over these areas that you would never have opportunity to see otherwise was spectacular. So many beautiful pictures. Our pilot was Scott, he was great.

What a trip. A float plane - so cool. Take off and landing so smooth. Views are incredible. Amazed at amount of lakes up and over the mountains you see from town. Even saw Mountain Goats. Bucket List experience

The trip was in a seaplane with about 8 or so passengers. You each get a window seat with good views. The pilot was very friendly and gave an excellent commentary pointing out places of interest below interspersed with relaxing music. The flight goes along the coast so you get excellent views of the terrain and amazing scenery. Something we would love to experience again. Would very highly recommend.

Save your time and money and do something else. The pilot is dull and not informative, you can barely hear the little commentary he will make about the sites you are seeing let alone what to expect about the activity. The pilot will maneuver the plane so that one side will have a considerably better experience than the other side but you won’t know beforehand. The pilot will make no effort to ensure all passengers on board get an equal and enjoyable experience.

Just add and hour or more to get the dock 2 the meeting area for the Taquan Air shuttle. It can take a while to get off your ship and get bussed into town in Ketchikan, then Taquan Air is awesome they will shuttle you back to your specific ship. The flight is AMAZING!!, It's something you should do!! Some words of advice when the pilot asks for a volunteer, volunteer you'll get to be the copilot, I was in the copilot seat!!!

The entire experience from the time we left the dock until we returned went smoothly. The representative at the dock called us in advance and directed us to the shuttle bus. Experienced and well informed pilot conducted the tour. All deserve five stars.

This was an exceptional way to see the Fjords of Alaska. Flying above and being able to look at a vast area that seemed untouched was great. The Pilot was awesome and narrated a lot of the flight. The driver who drove us to Taquan air also was very good and narrated the town. Only saw a couple of Mtn goats, but that was fine because the beauty of the area was breathtaking.

It was a beautiful day (read: not raining!) Pilot Mike showed us areas he described genuinely as where he likes to go. Absolutely beautiful rock walls, histories. My only problem was that it was a little hard to hear his commentary over the headphones but I don't think I missed anything important. This trip was one of the highlights of my Alaska cruise.

Amazing views, great pilot, very friendly!! The Headphones help with the noise, but you can't communicate with anyone through them. So talking was very limited. Beautiful views, more so on the left side of the plane as he explained it all going one direction. I did get to see some of it on the way back, but he wasn't talking about those sites on the way back. There was a narrative that was nice, but it was very spotty and we probably only heard half of it at best. I would do this again!

While we were looking forward to our Misty fiords trip with Taquan Air the weather did not cooperate. We were met at the meeting point and the tour guide kept us up to date as first we rescheduled our flight time then ultimately had to cancel. Tiquan Air kept us updated with text and phone calls. They ended up giving us a ride back to our ship in Ward Cove which was above and beyond. All monies were refunded that day. I would not hesitate to book again knowing they put safety first and were so quick to settle up the refund.

It was pathetic experience. They changed my tour timing last minute. They made me rush, went there hungry and other passengers had to wait for me because of that. I booked at 1:15pm then changed it to 11:30 am . I did that booking as my family has another tour at 1 pm. But because they changed timing without informing me first my family had to wait for me then I had to wait for them. They were not talking to us properly blaming us for being late. Also tour was so bad nothing to see, exceptionally costly. No view at all. Tour was for around 1hr not 2hr.
