Overview
Both the US and Canada have a rich history of logging and lumberjacking. Cheer on your favorite team as you watch Alaskan and British Columbian woodsmen chop, saw, roll logs, and throw axes as they compete in the Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show. Then, join in the fun as you learn how to throw a double-bit axe for yourself, trying to best your fellow attendees.

You don’t want to miss this one. It is very enjoyable and funny. These loggers really have personality in addition to impressive skills. We were throughly entertained. The audience is encouraged to participate and those burly lumberjacks are very generous with photo opportunities after the show. Incidentally, the axe throwing opportunity is a lot of fun if you opt for it.

there are several options for this be careful about your choice, we thought we did the basic show but found out we were signed up for the ax throwing after the show, there is another option for a crab fest and then just the show. Our ship was late to port and we missed our 10am show time, viator was no help, I called the show runners and they said come at 12 no problems. the shows is very enjoyable and we even had fun throwing axes

You need to make your own way there which is a long way from Ward Cove. Great fun for all ages. Good seats procured by Viator We loved it

Although the show is entertaining I would not say it is worth the money. Would be better spent seeing wildlife.

Very fun entertainment! Get there EARLY and get in line because it’ll be a packed audience! Our tickets included the axe throw challenge, which I thought meant we’d watch the lumberjacks compete in axe throwing, but it was actually US who competed after the lumberjack show! That was awesome! And those competing have a reserved seating section, so the whole experience was super!

Go into this show with the understanding it is a performance and a willingness to participate in the fun! It’s one of those touristy attractions that are an enjoyable way to spend some time in port! We also did axe throwing after the show and that was so much fun!

We were late to the show and they still let us in. FYI depending on where your ship docks you might have to take a downtown shuttle, which is free, but you do have to take time into account. It’s about a 20 min drive followed by a 13 min walk. Very family friendly show. Axe throwing afterwards was kind of like a private experience, it was great! We got to go a bunch of times.

A fun, lighthearted peek into what lumberjacking is all about. We enjoyed their lively show and personalities. Lots of cruise ship peeps there, but we were not on a ship and decided at the last minute to go. Great for the whole family.

Definitely a fun and worth it experience! The audience is split into teams and you will cheer on your lumber-athletes through a number of different games/competitions. I would recommend to anyone visiting Ketchikan!

A great show, especially for kids. We had our 3 grandsons ages 23, 21 and 19. They enjoyed the show but really enjoyed the Axe Throwing Contest after the show and learned it's not as easy as it looks.

The Lumberjack show was very good. We had the axe throwing challenge also. It was us learning to throw an axe and then a friendly competition after practicing. It wasvery fun.

We were packed in like sardines & the bleacher seating was uncomfortable. The performance was good and entertaining but kinda cheesy. Our 11 & 14 year old both enjoyed it very much. Free photo opportunity with the lumberjacks was a bonus

The staff are not informed when it comes to transportation. We asked several times before going into the show about timing since our ship was not in port long. Several crew members assured us that they had a shuttle to take us back to our doc.
We planned to leave the show early to walk back and have time to make it to the bus stop. Several crew members checked their schedules and promised they would get us to where we needed to be and that we didn't need to leave early.
After being walked to the bus stop by a staff member another crew person kept asking us what show we were at. After about 30 minutes of being told we would be on the next shuttle they changed the story to say we didn't have transportation.
We mentioned several times that we would just walk once the staff started acting strange, but kept being told they would get us where we needed to be.
Our party of 10 had to RUN through town to try and make it back onto our cruise ship. We were told at another stop Ketchikan is not organized and there are often issues.
We should have trusted our guts.
The show was fun to watch, just make sure you don't go by what they tell you.
