Cruise into Juneau, and booked this tour for a hike and waterfall tour. The rain had us wondering if this was the best decision. Our tour guide, Katie was excellent. She offered several suggestions, and we decided to take a shorter hike and walk over to Nugget Falls. She was entertaining, knowledgeable, and a lot of fun! Thanks Katie!!!

Our group of 4 was perfect for this hike. We had one member of our party who came down with a cold on short notice, but still wanted to go. The guides were great and very understanding. We went slower than most groups that I read in previous reviews, so I'm glad we were the only people on the tour, so we did not hold up strangers. We took many short breaks along the hike but the trail through the woods was magical. We were expecting to get closer to the glacier (which may or may not have had to do with our slower than average pace). I believe we were told there would be about a 600 foot elevation gain, but it felt like more.

This was a highlight of our cruise! Our guide was amazing - knowledgeable and kept a nice pace. We were the only people on the trail and it was so clean and beautiful. A much needed break from the crowds. My kids had a blast. Perfect effort to reward ratio!

This was an amazing hike! Kevin was friendly and informative. The hike timing allows for an easy pace. Usually I like to go a little faster, but the scenery was so unique and beautiful, it was nice to go slower and soak it in.

Shannon was a fantastic guide, and I would highly recommend this tour. The hike is about 3.5 miles, and I would consider it on the easier side of moderately challenging with about 600 feet of elevation gain. Shannon did an excellent job of setting the scene and explaining the history, flora, and fauna of the area. The views were amazing throughout the hike. Because we are used to hiking, we made quick progress. I casually mentioned that one of our favorite things about hiking was seeing waterfalls. Shannon quickly suggested that because we were making such good time, we could add in an optional mile or so hike to Nugget Falls from the visitor center. This proved to be the highlight of our trip. Overall, this is a truly excellent tour. I would not book this if you have any mobility issues or if you are not someone who enjoys hiking.

We had a wonderful hiking experience hiking the old railroad trails near the Mendenhall glacier. Gene, our guide was excellent is sharing knowledge about the rainforest environment, the history of the area, and the changes that a warming environment are making near the glacier. The hike was 4 miles with 800 feet of elevation gain, so Gene was patient with our group of flat landers throughout. The free custom water bottles were awesome too! Great experience and would highly recommend!

Shannon was an excellent guide, and as advertised, the rain forest scenery was beautiful. Moderately strenuous, but anyone who can walk 4 miles can do this trip. Learned a lot and got some great pictures. Highly recommend it.

We genuinely enjoyed this private excursion. Our guide tailored the day to our group’s unique needs (extended family, ages 8 - mid-70s), with a little something for everyone.
Between the guided deep-dive on local plants, birds, and historical sites along the rainforest trail, the outstanding hike to a glacial waterfall, and the visit to the glacier park museum, everyone had a great experience.
We were even able to wrap up with a late-evening drop off at a fantastic crab shack on the edge of town - would gladly go again next time we’re in the area!

Brandon and Alicia were the BEST tour guides we could have asked for. We booked this private tour for ourselves and our two boys, ages 17 and 15. We are quite athletic, and Brandon and Alicia tailored our hike to be exactly what were were looking for. They were so knowledgable about the flora, fauna, and history of the area we were hiking. Because we were making such great time, we were even able to go off a side trail to see where the mining operations were that had been abandoned. So cool to see! They really made an effort to get to know us and give us the experience we were looking for. We HIGHLY recommend this excursion!

We had a great hike and Savannah and Kevin were great guides! Even though it was raining, the website had done a good job of preparing us for what to wear, so we were fine. This trail was so green, and seeing the glacier through the mist was stunning. We would highly recommend this hike!

Shannon was an excellent guide. She knew the trail and told us what to expect at each turn. The trail was beautiful and somewhat challenging. The scenery was spectacular with the snow covered mountain tops and the glacier in full view. A wonderful day overall.

This trip surpassed all expectations! Andy and Savanna taught us so much about the forest and really made this trip so much more than a hike!! My husband, who isn’t usually interested in plants, is still talking about this trip days later. I wish we had more time in Juneau as I would love to explore another tour with Andy and team!!

What a fun outing! First of all, Brandon was a fantastic guide. It was just our family and him. After a short drive we arrived at our hiking point and we geared up. After some loading up on snacks and water (and bear instructions), we made our way through a 4 hour hike. There were five of us, my wife, and 16, 13, and 6 year old. It was beautiful, unrushed, our kids asked questions, learned about the foliage, the animals, glaciers, etc. We probably hiked more than an hour before seeing another person. If you truly want to get away from the cruise ship crowd and be in nature, this is the excursion for you. There were 4 or 5 cruise ships in that day, but we felt like we had the forest all to ourselves! Thanks Brandon!

We had an amazing experience. We had some rain, but it didn't take away from the amazing view, hike, and interpretive knowledge of Dan Michrowski, our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the area, the plants and wildlife, and he was very kind. He also showed his expertise in handling a Black Bear on the trail so that we always felt safe. That alone was a memorable experience. We would (and will) do other hikes with Dan and Alaska Luxury Tours. Wow!!!

Though it is a group tour, they were still operating even there was only me, so that is great! Very beautiful trip and really worth it, you have enough time to see the glacier. The shuttle is clean and spacious, they also prepared snacks, bottle with water.
