Gettysburg family trip
This tour was fascinating. It include the civil war museum, the movie and the ride l around the battle locations. A representative from the museum joined us for the ride around the battlefields. She provided excellent narrative regarding the history, skirmishes, officers and battle groups from north and south. Our tour driver was Galen. He provided careful and consistent driving and care for his passengers. Very nice person.

Tour of Arlington National Cemetery
We took a 2-hour walking tour of Arlington National Cemetery with Dwayne, Signature Tours of DC. His knowledge of Arlington was stellar. I wish we had more time with him! I would hire Dwayne for any DC tour. His stories and depth of history made the tour exceptional.

Our tour guide...
Our tour guide Christopher, and driver Kareem, were terrific. We learned a lot of history and really enjoyed seeing the actual home and belongings of our first President. Walking around the property, seeing the gardens, out buildings, and tomb was enlightening. Contemplating the lives of the slaves was a somber element as well.

Perfect day, best tour guide
Our experience began before we even arrived in the city. Alan contacted us right away after booking and went over all of the possibilities that our tour could offer so that we were sure to see everything we wanted. Alan was the best guide. He is kind, personable and funny. We would definitely book Alan for any future Washington DC tour or in any other city he offers tours!

Washington DC has a seemingly endless supply of museums, monuments, and major landmarks. Due to this glut of attractions, it's tempting to stay in town, but there are many reasons to explore beyond city limits, too. Washington DC day trips cover the gamut, including history-themed trips to former presidential abodes in Alexandria, vineyard adventuring in Virginia (one of the country's fastest-growing wine regions), and commemorative visits to Arlington. Then there is the colonial history in Williamsburg, wartime monuments in Gettysburg, and the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The moral of the story? Explore Washington DC—but don't stop there.
