An amazing place to visit. Would 100% recommend the place to anyone in the area, and the tour guide was very friendly and informative. Was nice to not have to worry about driving ourselves and it was cool to hear all the facts and stories our guide knew along the way.

Although this trip is shown as a five hour trip, we only ended up having 3 hours at Mount Vernon and this is not enough time to see everything, saying that, due to renovations we could only see one room in the house and this is what we’d paid to see.
I feel this should be brought to attention in the trip details as it’s not a quick fix & will be ongoing for a long time.
The minibus we were travelling in had a number of broken seatbelts, not satisfactory in this day & age.
This trip was not cheap and we feel that we have not had value for money.
Very disappointed.

This is Not the time to visit Mr Vernon! It’s going through a full renovation and we were limited to seeing the house. What areas we were allowed was nice. The person impersonating Martha was incredible!
Our guide that drove us to Mr Vernon “Rick” was enjoyable and full of knowledge about Washington DC and surrounding areas.

Right now MtVernon is going through a major renovation. You could only really see 1 room of the home. This was a major disappointment. Our tour guide Robert did a good job and was very knowledgeable.

The driver/guide was very annoying. He badgered the other guests about details about the tour they took the day before for half the drive. The other half he pointed out road signs and let us know if we were in residential or commercial areas. Absolutely useless as a guide. Do not recommend this tour. Rent a car and drive yourself.

The drive to Mount Vernon was a short jaunt from Washington, DC, and I highly recommend it. Our driver did not use air conditioning, which was uncomfortable for those in the back. I expected the guide to give more Washington history and background, and he left us as soon as he deposited us in the theater. The price was steep for the quality of the van and guide.

About 2% of Mt Vernon home open to viewing. Wait until reconstruction completed. Reconstruction was noted in booking but was way more than what review said.

Excursion said 9-2. Didn’t specify we would be dropped off at the site at 10am for travel time and then picked up and 12:30pm to head back. 2.5 hrs to tour the place is definitely not enough. You won’t even have time to have lunch. Bobby was great!

Don’t go to mount vernon while it is under renovation. Not a lot to see if the mansion (which is the main focal point) is closed.

It was fun to visit Mount Vernon, but this experience could be done very easily and much cheaper by hiring an Uber. The excursion did include tickets to Mt Vernon and to the mansion, but our driver just stood in line to purchase these and handed them to us which we could have done for ourselves. The vehicle also didn't seem to be in very good shape. The driver was polite and gave us some information, but definitely not worth what we paid.

My husband and I spent $200 on tickets to tour MT Vernon. It’s $60 to buy them on the website or there. It’s not what I thought it was. They just give you a ride and you walk around on your own. I could have ubered from my hotel for $25. Do yourself a favor and Uber yourself and buy tickets at MT Vernon and save yourself $70-$80.

This trip was for myself and my brother. He had been before but I had not. I always like to book tours so I can hear all the info. that you can't get if you are on your own so I booked the tour. We first had one tour guide (can't remember his name) who did tell us a little bit but wasn't very entertaining. He told us we would have a different guide on the way back. They dropped us off for us to be on our own and decided to have us meet earlier than was scheduled. On the way back our tour guide was Bobby and he was awful. He pointed out things like new road construction and was just rude. This tour was basically just an uber ride to mount vernon and was a waste of money.
