Emperors and Senators and Gladiators, oh my!

This tour was incredibly informative. Our guide Luca was an archeologist who had actually performed excavations in the Roman Forum and more recently contributed to the restoration plans for the Colosseum. He brought Roman history to life, including so many interesting facts about the Roman emperors, senate, gladiators, and more. We learned so much on this tour and enjoyed it very much.

Great tour!

The tour covered the living quarters on the hill, the forum and colosseum. It was very well done and our guide did an amazing job giving us relevant details as well as answering questions. This was an excellent experience. Our guide, Georgio, was outstanding—patient, courteous, and always willing to answer our questions. He provided rich historical context for everything we saw and even pointed out distant landmarks we might have otherwise missed. He also shared images showing what the monuments look like today alongside how they may have appeared in the past, which brought everything to life. As a history enthusiast, I found him exceptionally knowledgeable about the monuments and their histories.

It was an excellent tour and our guide, Siriki, was the best! He was extremely knowledgeable in Rome history and he kept us entertained with all of his stories. We had a group of eight people, and we never had to wait in any lines. Wear good walking shoes! Would highly recommend this tour.

Great tour and well worth for skipping the lines

Really informative and enjoyable tour. Skipping the lines is invaluable unless you want to queue for 3hours. Everyone knows the collaseum but the tour around the Forum was very interesting also. Highly recommend you book this tour and the numbers were restricted to 15 people and it felt more intimate and the tour guide was excellent also

I left my husband in Rome at his meeting & had the best day on the tour of the entire x2weeks in Italy :)

Be sure to bring a water bottle if you head on to Pompeii. It was insanely hot in 2019. I also brought a snack banana, apple and an egg… despite the amazing lunch the fruit helped with my heat induced headache. Must wear comfortable shoes! I chose driving moccasins because I wanted my Italy photos to look as nice as the places I visited. I absolutely loved the guides, both the driver and the Pompeii guide. It was a good day. This time around I’m going to book tours around the coast since I’m “training” from Rome to Sorrento then Sorrento to Florence. I’ve enjoyed Viator tours in the States but I do love my Italy :)
