We enjoyed chatting with our guide Shahid as he walked with us to the Vatican muesum and directed us to the correct entrance line. Entry was really fast and efficient which was appreciated as our daughter isn't the most patient in queues. Would recommend Shahid as a friendly and efficient guide!

It was awesome to be able to skip the 3-4 hour line to get into the museum. What we didn't expect was the tour operator employee walking us straight up to where we needed to be to skip the line--i really don't know if we would have found it on our own. It was such a great touch and he was fun to talk to! The Museum is incredible, just be ready to walk 😃 but the outstanding service of Maya Tours is what really made it a special day. I'm sure there are many skip the line offers, but I'm glad we chose this one.

Ask all the questions ahead of time so you are not lost. This company is good however your ticket does not have explanations on where to go. And if you do not have your password you cannot access online. However overall it was a good excursion with an excellent guide.

Skip The Line to the Sistine Chapel!

Skipping the line is the only way to go. Going through the museum and arriving at the Sistine Chapel takes a lot of energy. Rome is hot right now and if you start by standing in the lines you will be exhausted by the time you arrive. The Sistine chapel is a must see for everyone who ever has the opportunity to go…make the day the best by starting right…and that is by skipping the lines! The only bummer is you cannot take pictures in the chapel like you once could.

Upgraded when we went to get our tickets to make it a guided tour which was an excellent choice and not much more cost Learned so much and got to see St Peter’s as well without having to get further tickets and line up for hours The whole tour was just so impressive and covered so much history and background, pointing out the most important aspects and sights Absolutely amazing and so much better than doing it on your own

Scam. Save Yourself $40/person by following these directions

Full scam. We paid $145 and showed up to the office. They had printed tickets that they handed to us and motioned to the vatican. Nobody was there to escort us or help us past any lines, etc. The “line” was to purchase tickets at the gate. You can skip that line by going to the vatican museum website and purchasing online tickets for $25/pp. We still had to wait in the line to scan our tickets. Once inside the vatican was amazing but we were scammed out of $90 total by purchasing from viator. The listing promised to have someone there to escort us to the vatican and get us through the line but that did not happen. We received our printed tickets (that we could have printed and purchased ourselves) and then walked there ourselves. Scam.

This was an amazing experience, the Sistine Chapel is something else! When we entered, it gave me goosebumps! Even though it was very busy, you could still take it all in and have a 'moment' to appreciate where you are. The Vatican is very well organised and you are kept moving along at a good pace. Security is very good, similar to an airport on the way in, which is reassuring as it is extremely busy. I would highly recommend this ticket as you can experience it at your own pace and on your own route. It was easy to find the office to collect the tickets, and then where to queue for entrance to the Vatican. All in all, an experience of a lifetime! If you're thinking of purchasing one of these tickets, do it!

Guide MIA and meeting place inaccurate

We could not find our guide anywhere. The original description said meet at Vatican gates. We arrived at the gates 15 min ahead of the meeting time and couldn’t find her. Pulled up the map for the meeting place and it was 30 min away. We didn’t get our tour. We met another couple who had the same problem. Do not book this tour!!!

The meeting point for the Vatican tour is 2 minutes from the Vatican museums entrance. You never arrived for your tour as everyone else in the group was able to do and they took the tour. You were at a different monument which is only 15 minutes away from the tour you booked, had you called or contacted us you would have been told this but you did not. The instructions are very simple, the Vatican entrance is not St.Peter's Basilica where you were and the entrance is the opposite side of Vatican city which is clearly written in the booking instructions on your voucher.

When we arrived, they wouldn't accept our voucher. We arrived 1 hour ahead of the required time and claim "we never arrived". If we didn't arrive, then their office would not have tried contacting everyone they could to verify our scan code, no one was reachable. We ended up having to purchase tickets through another vendor that the office was willing to help us with so we could get in. We paid a lot of money to get there from our cruise ship to be told our voucher could not be verified. Now, it's been almost 3 months and I still have not gotten my refund. Keep getting the run-around about "chargebacks"!!!

You never showed up to the meeting point, everyone else booked managed to arrive on time but you never arrived at the office and therefore were marked as a no show by the Vatican, if you had come to the meeting point at any time during the day you could have taken your tickets and entered the Vatican but you didnt, so the tickets were lost.

Booked shorter tour, not until inside told it was longer tour so we had to rush around and see things ourselves to keep on time for other bookings. Viator customer services (or AI) were not very helpful, and I am still waiting for the reply I was promised by ‘Management.’ People in office quite put off when we asked any questions as if we were an inconvenience and not a paying customer. In all a very bad experience that spoilt our family trip to Rome, would not recommend booking through Viator.

The tour duration is clearly written in the product information, we do not offer a short tour, all tours are a minimum of 2.5 hours, if you had another experience booked you could have left the tour at any time.

The tour was very good and the tour guide was knowledgeable. Skipping the line was worth the extra money especially since the heat was extreme. It would have been better if the guide had a visual marker to keep track of her as she walked very fast and not everyone in our tour could keep up with her. She was not clear on where she was or was going and one of our party got lost. She also did not check to see if those who could not walk as fast or who were slower on stairs were still with the group. It would also be helpful to be clear in the description how much walking is involved and the extensive stair navigating.

The description said a guide would take you to the entrance but when we checked in we were given a paper ticket and told to walk to the entrance. No escort or clear directions. It took us 15 minutes to figure out where exactly to find the museum entrance but it was great to walk directly to the front of the line.

Christina was our guide and she was phenomenal! Skipping the line was more than just getting in without a line-it also allowed us(with a tour guide)to go directly into St. Peter’s Basilica without having to go back outside and into another line. Christina completely explained the Sistine Chapel ceiling before seeing it and provided insight along the way. Don’t miss it or her.
