A Beary Good Tour

My family of 4 had a great experience on this tour. We ended up being the only ones signed up so it felt private and personalized. Garrett was knowledgeable and professional. We learned a lot about the area and we did get to see a bear which was the highlight.

Highly recommend!

Such a cool tour! We saw bears and eagles and some fantastic landscapes. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful with the camera settings - for both iPhone cameras and traditional cameras. We had an amazing experience and I’d recommend it to anyone for a personalized wildlife adventure!

Thank you for such a wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear you had an amazing experience — bears, eagles, and those incredible landscapes make for a day to remember. It’s fantastic that your guide was able to share not only local knowledge but also photography tips to help you capture it all, whether on an iPhone or a camera. Many of our guides are passionate photographers themselves, and nothing makes them happier than helping guests take home their own unforgettable shots. We’re so glad this felt like a truly personal wildlife adventure for you, and we can’t thank you enough for the recommendation!

Garret was an amazing guide and person to spend the day with. He was very kind and knowledgeable and our lunch was delicious. He took us to beautiful places not on a typical tour and we also got to see the bears we hoped for and a bonus juvenile bald eagle up close.

Response from Host, Oct 2024

Thanks for this great review. Juvenile bald eagles are often either overlooked, dismissed, or mistaken for golden eagles. But they are fascinating and beautiful in their own right, even thought they lack the immaculate white head and tail of the adults. Our guides can not only point out juvenile bald eagles, they can also determine their age based on their plumage pattern.

Worth the trip!

We watched two bear cubs foraging for food for quite a while, which was pretty amazing! I also loved the stop at Dog Beach and hearing about the history of the glaciers and fjords. Garrett was quite knowledgeable not only about cameras and settings but very familiar with the area and history so he really made it interesting. Haven't had a chance to download all the pics yet but look forward to reliving the experience when I do!

Thanks for this great review of your tour with Garrett. He is not only an excellent photography instructor, he is also very knowledgeable about the natural history of the area. With wildlife photography, the more you know about the habits of the wildlife you are photographing, the better chance you have of predicting their behavior and capturing that perfect moment.

For an experience not to be forgotten.

We wanted to have a chance to experience Alaska and bring home photos we would never forget. Garret did not fail to deliver. With more than location, he offered assistance with composition and lighting. What a wonderful, amazing experience.

Response from Host, Jul 2024

So glad to hear that you enjoyed your time with Garrett on our photography tour. There are many factors to consider when trying to get a memorable image, and Garrett combination of patience, experience and passion makes him an excellent guide and a credit to our team at Rainbow Glacier Adventures.

My husband and I had a great time. And were able to get a better understanding on how to utilize our cameras to the best of there abilities. Our guide took us to some amazing places we wouldn't have been able to see, otherwise.

Response from Host, Jun 2023

Thanks for much for this 5-star review. Our goal with our private photography is to take you to beautiful places and help you understand more about how to use your camera. It sounds like we hit the nail on the head on both counts!

Awesome Experience

This is a do not miss tour. The scenery is beautiful, and the guide could not have been better. One of the real highlights of our cruise!!

Not really what we expected
