Sam, our guide, and Luigi, our driver, were fantastic. Lots of good information along the way, some great stops in Naples, and the guided tour of Pompeii was awesome. The winery on the slopes of Vesuvius provided a great lunch. Can highly recommend!

Pompeii is huge and it was hot, but given the heat they tailored a perfect experience. We had an outstanding expereince!

It's a long day - 12 hours, but was such an awesome tour! We had Sam as our tour guide and Luigi as our driver - both were AMAZING!!! Luigi is an excellent driver and git us around safely. Sam was so patient, friendly, knowledgeable and a pleasure to be around. Couldn't ask for a better team! We booked a small group tour, but it ended up just being the two of us - so turned into a private tour - which was fantastic - had the whole van to ourselves! First stop was Pompeii. Had a 2 hour tour and learned so much. So interesting! Next was lunch at a winery. We had a small tour, then tasted 4 wines while having a tastey lunch that included dessert. After that, we stopped in Naples for a bit where Sam walked us around the whole time- explaining everything. He was so patient and waited while we ordered fried pizza ( we were stuffed from lunch, but had to have pizza in Naples). Last, we stopped to see the most amazing view of the city and took some pictures before heading back to Rome. Had a great day and so glad we did this tour. Highly recommend it and hope you are fortunate enough to get Sam and Luigi as your guides for your tour!

It was a great mix of Pompeii and Naples. The guides were very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. The van ride was very comfortable and easy. The Pompeii section was only two hours, but that was plenty to get a good feel for the place. You would generally needs days to see it all, it the two hours was enough. Overall, it was a great day!

Our family (including one teen and two young adults) had a wonderful day traveling with our guide Nariman and driver Emanuele to Pompeii, the Cantina del Vesuvio, and the city of Naples. The day began with them picking us up at our hotel in a very nice air conditioned van. Along the way to Pompeii, we stopped for a restroom break and an opportunity to get some coffee or breakfast. On the way there, Nari did an excellent job teaching us about Italian history, geography, and culture. And he was very kind and really funny! At Pompeii, we joined a local guide who was fantastic. We were so glad that we did a guided tour rather than trying to use an audio guide to guide ourselves. Pompeii was fascinating, and our entire group really enjoyed learning about it. Then, we went to lunch at a local vineyard and farm. They were WONDERFUL with our sons’ food allergies. Very knowledgeable and helpful! The food was very fresh and delicious and was a menu that would appeal to many people. We loved the wine and wine vinegar and ordered some of both to be shipped home as souvenirs. Next, we went to the Naples. Nari showed us around and taught us about a lot of history of the local area. This time was flexible, and we had lots of options about how we would like to spend that time. We were all exhausted on the ride back to Rome and had a relaxing ride. We would definitely recommend this tour!

Excellent!!!!! Our your guide Giuseppe and driver Luigi were just fantastic. We are a family of 5 and were picked up right outside our hotel on time. A private minivan and just us so the whole experience was exclusive. Giuseppe was so knowledgeable and explained everything so well and also took good care of us. We got the Nepolitan pizza and then he took us to the beach and we enjoyed the pizza on the beach..... what a wonderful experience. Also the lunch at the Russo family winery was delicious and we enjoyed a good view of Mt. Vesuvius. Tried the wines and even bought some. If you are in a limbo please do this..... totally worth the price !!!! Can say this was the highlight trip of our Roma trip. 10 stars for Giuseppe and Luigi!!!!!

The trip to Pompeii is so well worth it especially upon entering the city you see all the devastation. Pillars, Columns, big buildings, rich city buried of volcanic ash. The experience to Pompei was very good. The guide we had, Nariman, was very knowledgeable and up to date on everything. Loved how he had pictures that helped to tell his story. Our driver, Fabrizio, was also very good and got us to Pompei and home in one piece. We especially loved our lunch at the winery. The wines were delicious and the food outstanding.

Long day but worth it.

It’s a very long day in a mini van. We had 6 people along with a very nice tour guide named Joseph. The day was well organized and we really enjoyed Pompeii. The guide provided there was amazing. He showed us so many highlights and kept the tour moving. We had lunch at a local winery along with a tour of the facility. Naples was a bit of overkill. We could have skipped that and headed back to Rome. It makes it too long a day for most people. Consider cutting that part of the tour and just doing lunch and Pompeii.

The best tour we did in Italy- Jazzy was top-notch and is now my son's idol. We got to Pompeii early before it was crowded, and our tour guide there was perfect- she gave us just enough information, but didn't overwhelm or bore. Our lunch at the winery was fantastic, we got to tour the grounds and then eat some great food and drink some amazing organic wines. Yes, it is a sales pitch, but worth it to me and we ended up buying wine to be shipped home as our "souvenir". We then went to Naples, where Jazzy gave us a short tour of the very busy city and recommended a wonderful local place to get great coffee. We then drove to an overlook of the coastline where we were able to get some lovely pictures. I really can't say enough good things about Jazzy, who is fluent in 5 languages and has a PhD. He was funny, friendly, helpful, and our whole family loved him- he really made the tour exceptional!

Incredible tour that combines different experiences in a single day - our Pompei guide Elena was amazing and replied to our several questions. The wine/lunch was fun and delicious. We made a quick visit to explore Naples and try coffee and ice cream (city was very different from the Rome vibe so a plus on the Italian culture overview) It’s a long day, but very comfortable van.

The best trip of my entire visit to Italy

It was an extremely worthwhile trip, and we felt well taken care of from start to finish. Mr. Guiseppe – our guide – and the driver arrived on time, with a very comfortable vehicle. The driver was very polite, and our guide was attentive, kind, and truly excellent. During our visit to Pompeii, we were accompanied by a local guide who knew the site incredibly well. We learned so many fascinating details that you simply cannot get from reading on your own. For lunch, we visited a beautiful vineyard and enjoyed an exclusive look at their winemaking process. The full-course meal and the wines served were all delicious. At the end of the trip, we visited Naples, and our guide shared the city’s history in great detail, as he is a native of Naples himself. Overall, it was a wonderful trip with flawless service. It’s rare to be impressed enough to feel compelled to write a review like this.

We had the best experience ever! Luigi was the perfect driver — he knew the roads like the back of his hand, always careful but never slow, and made the entire ride smooth and enjoyable. Giuseppe was an amazing guide and such a wonderful storyteller. He brought every stop to life and kept us engaged the whole time. They even played “Happy Birthday” in the car, which was such a thoughtful and memorable touch! The Viator employees and tour guides are very nice and friendly. We had Teresa and she was very kind and a joy to be around during the whole trip. Make sure you have a battery charger for your phone because, it’s a long day and you will take a lot of videos and pictures and you may not have enough battery life left after a few hours.

Long day but very informative. Guide at Pompeii full of information. Guide in vehicle good also but maybe a bit more information on the way there. All in all very happy with everything! Guide in Naples really good too.

Joseph and Alessandro were amazing. Loved the winery meal and wine tasting. Appreciated the history provided by Joseph as a resident in Napoli. Would have liked more time in pompeii for the museum though but overall great day trip!

This experience was the highlight of my trip! Our guide and driver were amazing and we were able to learn and experience so much in one day. They took care of every detail, from the pick up at our hotel to the drop off at the end. It was one of the best tours I have been on. I 100% recommend it!

Pompeii and Naples with Lunch

Marie and Giuseppe were amazing. On time to pick us up and even gave us options for lunch, which we left up to the kids. As we were driving to Pompeii, Marie spoke with us the entire way to give us history of Italy, the areas we were travelling through and even her own family memories. Coming from Sicilian parents myself, and my wife being of Portuguese decent, we could relate. When arriving in Pompeii, Francesco took us around and he provided us with so much information about the site. A little secret, his mother was an archeologist on site for many years, so he is very well informed. Francesco was passionate and made sure to take pictures of us and that the kids were having fun. After leaving the ruins of Pompeii, we went to Naples for lunch where we enjoyed true Neapolitan style of pizza. Absolutely delicious. She took us through the city centre and square to tell us about the history of Naples. She also treated us to caffe Del nonno and the kids to gelato. I would definitely recommend all 3 of them, and would ask for them specifically if that’s an option. Thank you for the amazing day. We have those pictures and memories that will last a lifetime. From the moment we were picked up at the hotel to the time we returned, everything was simply amazing. Marie was a fantastic guide—fun, incredibly knowledgeable, and always ready to help with anything we needed. Fabrício, our driver, was polite and drove safely, making the ride smooth and pleasant. Our time in Pompeii was absolutely unforgettable—it’s hard to put into words how special it was. We only wish we had more time there! As an added bonus, Marie also helped us find an incredible Neapolitan pizza place in Rome, which totally made our day 🥰 Highly recommend this experience—top-notch from start to finish!
