You will find your Vatican tour guide 'at the very bottom of the Stairs' of Via Tunisi, holding signs that say MAXIMUS TOURS. These stairs are directly opposite the entrance of the Vatican Museum. (We DO NOT meet on the steps of the Vatican Museums entrance you must cross the street).

You are allowed to wear shorts, dress and skirts however the cloth must fall long enough to cover the ball of the knees and shoulders for both men and women. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements.

This is a great tour to see the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. St Peter's Basilica and Square were closed for Easter celebrations. This is a long tour but there is so much to see. Without a guide, we would have missed the significance of a lot of things.

The guide is everything! The crowd is immense. My first booked tour was canceled Sunday morning at 4:30 a.m. booked months in advance. I was able to book with Maximus on short notice thankfully. Our guide Sara was so knowledgable that it was meant to be that the first was canceled. This is my third time to the Vatican museum! Oh how the crowds have changed! I can't imagine navigating without a guide!

We found out the morning of out tour that King Charles was in town to visit the Pope. Tour of the Sistine Chapel was not going to happen because of it so we only saw the museum. Crowds were awful.

Oh my gosh, I can’t stop thinking about how beautiful the Vatican is. The tour takes you around to the most beautiful rooms and views. Our guides name was Juicy, and she was super fun and knowledgeable. She knew so much about the history and could answer every question thrown at her. I can’t recommend this tour enough.

They cancelled our St Peter’s part of the tour a week before saying it was too crowded. Very disappointing. So the guide made up time by showing us Every pope apartment. After awhile it was the same thing. We should have left after the museum.

Unfortunately, the Vatican recently removed access to the Basilica for all group tours, and this decision was entirely out of our hands. This tour was easy to find the meeting point after communicating through whatsapp to confirm that we were in the correct meeting spot. Our tour guide (didn’t get to hear her name clearly 😭) was so kind, answered all our questions and even offered different versions of how to do our tour to see everything!

Knowledgeable guide, but chaotic and rushed. Too much time spent in less interesting areas, and forced everyone to leave the museum after the Sistine chapel even though there was more we wanted to see.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear the tour felt rushed at times. Our guides follow a set route through the Vatican Museums to cover the key highlights, but on very busy days the guards may direct groups along alternate paths, which can affect the pacing.
Regarding the Sistine Chapel, groups are allowed only a limited amount of time inside before moving on, as required by Vatican regulations. This sometimes makes the experience feel shorter than expected.

Guide very nice and knowledgeable. Tour was too fast. We finished 30 minutes early based on the initial planning (0900-1200)
Viator, meeting point confusing. We arrived 1 minute before showtime because we couldn't find the company in charge of the tour and the exact location was not clear. You gotta write what company is in charge of the tour with name of the people responsible that day.

This is the third time that I have been back to the Vatican and it gets more and more interesting and exciting every time I go. VEVE was the best tour guide Any girl could ask for. In general, I liked to skip the line experience. The guide was there on time, gave a nice tour and our group was only 10 persons. The major problem was with the overall crowd size. While our group was only ten individuals, we were among many similarly sized and significantly larger groups. Much of the tour was spent elbow to elbow with others, especially inside the Sistine Chapel. Granted, this was not in any way related to the tour group and/or guide but it seriously detracted from the experience. A question below is ‘Would you recommend this experience to a friend?” My answer would be a qualified “yes”. “Yes”, the tour provided what they advertised but not on this day (our one like it) or maybe not even this time of year.

It’s a great overview tour to see highlights of the Vatican museums and see the Sistine Chapel. Lovely, informative and helpful tour guide! The meet up spot is very accurate from the map in the Viator app. 3 hours long, so wear your comfortable shoes, & bring water!

We booked this tour because it included the Saint Peter‘s Basilica however the tour operator said that was not included so we missed out. Viator falsely advertised this even though that was included in our confirmation email.

As discussed via email, and clearly shown on your eticket, the Basilica was not under an "inclusion". Apart from that, no entrace fee was charged for the Basilica.

Tour guide Tatiana did a great job! I wish I had an ear plug for my free ear to block out the crowd noise. We bought the separate Basillica tickets and Tatiana was able to take us to the direct entrance to the Basillica from the Sistine Chapel, so we didn’t have to walk the 20-30 minutes around the outside and stand in the really long line for the Basillica which was SO nice of her.
