This was my second food tour in Rome. They are lovely experiences. This one had more stops and more sweet bites, with less wine/beer than the last. I really liked the two restaurants we sat down in. They were quaint and the food delicious. My guide Claudia G was wonderful, it was like spending the evening with friends and she even helped us determine our ways home at the end of the tour.

The tour guide was very nice. He made sure that everybody was engaged and taken care of. The food was very good however we booked this food and wine because it was a food and whiner. What was missing was the wine. Throughout the entire evening we were served One small glass of white wine and one small glass of red wine.. yeah this is my third visit to Rome. I’ve done many of these tours as well as food and wine tasting in Greece, Spain, and France. And of all of them, this one was the biggest disappointment. I did take the opportunity to speak to the other participants, and this feeling was unanimous.

We hear your point about the wine. This particular tour is built around Rome’s aperitivo culture, where the wine is paired with the tastings rather than offered in large pours or as a full wine tasting on its own. The focus is on how the flavors of the food and wine complement one another and give a sense of how locals enjoy aperitivo. Many guests find this balance a highlight of the evening, though we understand it may have felt different from other food and wine experiences you’ve had in other places.
That said, we hope you still came away with some memorable moments from exploring Trastevere’s small streets and hidden spots. We’ve had many travelers share how much they enjoy discovering those local stops and flavors that aren’t always easy to find on their own.

Rocio was a great host, very friendly and funny. We had fun going to the various stops, trying new food and drinks, and meeting new people along the way during the excursion. You will not be hungry at the end of this trip--everything was very filling and you were able to try all types of food, drinks, and dessert! This is the best way to see the city and eat your way through Rome and learn about the city's history as well!

Our guide was great! She took us the several restaurants where we sampled Roman specialties. She made certain we got to try the fried artichoke and fried zucchini flowers and also some authentic gelato. We left happy and full! Oh- and you will also get some delicious wine and beer. This was a great way to spend our first evening in Rome.

We have done food tours in many cities and this was the worst one we have done. Food offered was mediocre, portions were very limited and uninteresting (crostini on poor quality bread, very small samples of two similar pastas, one slice of porchetta on bread, a few pieces of cheese, a deep-fried stuffed zucchini blossom, a bite of fried artichoke, tiny tastes of two types of truffle spreads, a tiny gelato cup, and wine or beer or liqueur at each stop. Guide was friendly but shared only limited information about food or the areas we were walking through or related history. Good points: The guide and fellow group members were pleasant personally, the group was small (only 6 people, though the group right after ours had 12), and we did have the opportunity to wander around Trastevere and receive some commentary, but in my opinion it was definitely not worth the money or time. I left hungry.

Our Trastevere food tour is designed as a walking journey through one of Rome’s most charming neighborhoods, combining traditional Roman flavors with local stories and stops that showcase the area’s culinary heritage. Our selections are all selected to represent authentic Roman street food and trattoria favorites, and we serve them progressively across multiple stops to create a layered tasting experience.
We understand that portion sizes and menu style can feel subjective—while many of our guests have told us they leave feeling comfortably full and satisfied, we also know that expectations can vary, especially for those who’ve joined food tours in different cities. That said, your input is valuable and will be shared with our Rome team for internal review.
As for the storytelling and commentary, our guides are trained not just to lead but to engage guests with insights into local food culture, history, and hidden corners of the neighborhood. It’s great to know that your guide was personable and created a pleasant environment, even if the depth of information wasn’t quite what you were hoping for. We do have guests who highlight the balance of walking, tasting, and learning as a highlight of the experience, so we’ll reflect on your feedback to ensure we keep that balance engaging and informative.

Lots of good food and fun. Rosie took us to many excellent tastings. There was actually more food than we could eat. Trastevere is a foodies delight. It is also where all the locals hang out. Especially on Saturday and Sunday nights. Rosie took good pictures of our group, which she sent the next day. This tour is definitely worth the price.

The tour was absolutely great and the guide was top notch.
Finding the starting point was a pain in the ass. You need to be very specific and not give a general location like an intersection of two streets. Have a point like at the base of xyz statue or in front of xyz restaurant.

Rocio was great, very informative and funny. Food and drink was very good and interesting. However, you may still need to dine after the tour, most of the food consisted of very small tastings.

Rocio our tour guide was hilarious!! She made this tour so much fun!
The food was amazing by the end we were so full!! Rocio was very knowledgeable and went out of her way to accommodate my son who does not drink alcohol!

Unfortunately I did not get to participate in this tour. I had to pay for another tour in the pouring down rain, while it was thunder and lightening as I believed I had signed up for the same tour as my friends. I was traveling alone and met my two friends and we signed up for the tour together. She gave me the EXACT name of the tour and we even compared the names. However, once we arrived at the meeting place in a cab together, I was told my tour was a different one and was at a different meeting point. How could this be? We were in the room together when we purchased it, we completed the names of the tours, and yet as we stood in the thunder and lightening I was instructed to go alone to another place, in a foreign country alone and take the tour without my friends. Fortunately the guide of the tour my friends were on allowed me to pay for that tour with cash on the spot and join along. Now I am out that money.

So yes, you booked our tour, and your friends booked a different one. But that's not obviously our responsibility.
