Leonardo was excellent. Very charming and generous with his time, knowledge and expertise. Our tour was on a Sunday afternoon and some of the places we visited were crowded with long lines - not Leonardo’s fault but it would have been nice to have a “fast lane” for tours. The food was excellent and we experienced local cuisine that we would not normally have tried or known about. Honestly not a great value for the money (we did a tour in Genoa that included wine and several waters) but I’m glad we did it and really liked Leonardo.

As with any food tour there is a LOT of walking, but there is also a LOT of eating! We had everything from 3 types of pasta to gelato to coffee and cannolis to porchetta to pizza and more! Our guide was great! Informative and funny. Of course, it rained through the entirety of our tour, but that didn’t deter any of us. I highly recommend this tour!

This tour included some of the best shops to taste Rome’s culinary delights! The walk was easy and leisurely. We had food to take back for later. Our guide, Frederica, was amazing! She was knowledgeable of the areas, full of recommendations, flexible and very accommodating. Nothing about the tour felt rushed. She was kind enough escort us to two additional locations for us to get cotton candy at Piazza Di Navona and leather goods near the Trevi Fountain. Best tour booked through Viator so far!

Paola is a very passionate Roman. She shared her knowledge of the culture and Burroughs we toured. The food tastings were delicious but if I'm comparing to other food tours this was lacking.

Romain was amazing! Everything we tasted was delicious and things that we wouldn’t have found on our own. He was also super flexible and accommodating - I’m pregnant so couldn’t eat certain things and had to take lots of breaks. He rolled with the lunches and was a great time!

Severe Language Barrier and Poor Planning

Couldn’t find the guide for several minutes for the lack of professionalism in contact and dress. Couldn’t understand almost anything the guide was telling us and almost every question we asked was met with an answer to a completely different question. I have a culinary background and a baking and pastry degree and I couldn’t get any information from our guide about many of the items we ate. On top of that, the order to eating was all screwed up. Pasta to start then coffee and dessert then back to savory street food that apparently can’t be cut with a knife and were forced to eat after each other without the use of tools or flatware. For more than $150 per person in its less than $30 per person worth of actual food and a guide that couldn’t be understood nor understood anything I asked about. We did get to see some nice churches and a few hidden gems on architecture and history but since it was a “Walking Food Tour” and not a “Visit old Places Tour” it was extremely underwhelming. At the third (and last) location to taste food, we were told that the one item we had couldn’t be cut into anything smaller and that no knife existed that was capable of cutting a sandwich in half and so I went out and found a fork and cut it myself. I was told outright by our guide that I wasn’t supposed to put cheese on something only after they watched in silence as we put on the cheese. So many things I was told was a requirement and all of which severely disappointed me in freshness, flavor, and taste. Overall, I was say it was one of the worst tours I’ve ever taken and by far the absolutely worst food tour or Viator Tour I have ever been on. So much so that I will book another Viator Tour again. A complete and total waste of money and time. Don’t do tour unless you get someone that knows your language at least half as well as you do.

This tour entails a lot of walking and a lot of eating. Our guide, Matteo, took us to a lot of places we would never have found on our own. The tour covers a huge range of food - unique Roman pizzas, supplis, fried stuffed olives, fried artichokes, pastries, gelato, and a final stop for espresso. All of the food was delicious. Matteo was a charming host who clearly enjoys sharing the cuisine of Rome with visitors. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour.

I booked the 6 tasting food & drink tour, and we were all very disappointed. The description says award winning food & drink tour, but that’s not what we got. First, we only had five food tastings and offered a drink only at the fifth and last tasting, probably because I asked for water. The only thing that tasted good was the suppli at the first tasting. Other than that, the rest of the food was average, and the Prosecco was very sweet. We mostly were given one small item to share and often stood or sat on an uncomfortable bar stool while eating. We also ate out of sequence with icy gelato and below average cannoli sandwiched between the suppli and porchetta. I don’t know if Gianmarie was aware of the description of this “award winning food and drink tour,” but it was definitely not worth the $300+ that we spent.

Gabriele was a charming host. And flexible. For example, my wife and I were interested in seeing the old Jewish ghetto. So he changed the tour route to accommodate us. And we really liked doing this tasting tour at night - the neighborhoods we visited were bustling. The food Gabriele introduced us to was excellent. Especially the pizza and tiramisu. He also pointed out some ancient Roman landmarks. In particular, the site where Julius Caesar was assassinated.
