The tour did not pair with the app which I downloaded earlier. Previous tours appeared, but not this one so I was unable to hear anything and just walked through the castle reading the signs pretty disappointing. I would recommend only because of the site itself

The audio guide was better than others but a little more information and details would have helped. And I found it a little confusing at times trying to determine the order of the guide.

I booked and prepaid for tickets about 3 hours before the scheduled time…last minute for sure. I arrived at the venue about 30 minutes early and the description of where to meet was very confusing. There was no one from the tour group onsite and then I received an alert from the tour company 15 minutes before the tour that they could not issue tickets and had to cancel. I requested a refund but they said they couldn’t do it on my original payment method but could on a different card, PayPal or I would have to work with Viator. (Had to jump through hoops with Viator because tour group didn’t notify them of cancellation and am now forced to dispute charge on my credit card now.)

I booked this tour in the morning for an afternoon tour. There was no information on the website advertisement that a separate ticket would be sent via What's App rather than the traditional ticket dowload through Viator and that the access to the audio guide would be available for download on an app 24 hours after the purchase of the ticket. We arrived at the tour with no knowledge ahead of time about the What's App ticket (I needed to make a phone call to find out) and then upon entering we found out we could not get the app for the audio guide until 24 hours later. The cost of this Viator ticket through Love Rome was twice that of just showing up and buying a ticket on site which included the audio tour. I requested a refund but was refused. Please avoid this tour.

The site was fantastic, however the tour provider was poor. You have to jump through hoops to get the virtual tour started and once you get on the site it is poorly developed and difficult to navigate.

We had an absolutely wonderful visit to the Castel Sant’Angelo. The castle and museum is an incredible building with beautiful artworks, frescos on the walls, statues, models of what the castle looked like in its early days. The views from the top of the castle were spectacular. You could see all around Rome with awesome views of St Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican, bridges over the Tiber River and beautiful gardens below the castle.
Well worth the price of the entry tickets.

There are a lot of stairs to complete the full tour. It’s broken up into segments so not horrible to do. Views are spectacular, many nice art pieces, good English explanations of the items, and well worth the price of admission.

All of the art tells a story. If you are a religious person this place is a must see. We suggest getting there early to avoid lines and they do accommodate to the handicap

Don’t book a tour go on your own, hardly a line to wait. Plus tour was very difficult to find tickets on line. Nobody from tour company on site to help, very frustrating.

we enjoyed the castle, but probably didn't not need to buy 'skip the line' tickets through Viator. There was a small line outside, and this was when Rome was busy. Our directions were a bit confusing as to what to do when we got to the castle to check in. I had to call the tour operator who sent me the QR code to get in. This wasted 15 minutes, of which we could have been inside if we just waited in line.

Purchased skip a line tickets for this venue the same morning as we planned to attend. We should have purchased tickets directly and saved 50%. There were no lines whatsoever and we walked right in upon arrival. I also thought I would receive a quiet box at the venue, but discovered I needed to download an app to my phone.
Other than that the venue was great and worth the admission price.

A good do it yourself tour. Good for about an hour. Lots of stairs and steep climbs. Lovely cafe on the third level with great views. Also the rooftop has the best view of Rome.

Great visit but the app for self guided tour was substandard. It was confusing and only helped us 30% of the time. Get the “skip the line” option if you’re going.

We enjoyed the self-guided tour of the Castle but we had a little trouble accessing the tickets as the person who was assigned to provide us the tickets was not at the front of the castle. However, a phone call to the office solved the problem as the they sent them to me electronically. We lost a little time and could not access the headsets but we wondered through on our own and were amazed at the sights including the rooftop views. Interesting place to visit as it is a short walk from the Vatican.

No one showed up to give us the tickets for this tour, so I had to call Viator to have the tickets emailed to me. There was no line in mid-March so there was no reason to pay extra for “skip-the-line”. I paid $24/ticket but the price at the gate was $16/ticket, so this was a scam. We overpaid and were refused a partial refund. I requested a partial refund from both Viator and the tour company, Loving Rome, but both denied the request. Do not book with Loving Rome, because they will not even show up or reply to messages.
I do recommend going to see Castel Sant’Angelo as it is an historical castle that your family will enjoy seeing, but do not overpay like I did.

This is a self guided tour. You have to listen through your own phone ( must bring your own earbuds as not to disturb other guests and be able to share with your party). Was not totally prepared. Still enjoyed the skip the line option. Small and manageable on your own.

The guide was late. The app that he asked us to download for the audio guide to listen was terrible. It kept stopping and starting don't know if it was from lack of signal or not.
The castle itself was great but had no idea audio for most of the tour.

I love the castle. It is so unique in its different uses through the ages. The roof at sunset is incredible. However, these sites seem to buy the tickets so I couldn’t buy directly from the castle, but had to buy tickets resale from viator at a substantial increase.

The skip the line tickets were great and the instructions about how to download the App to our phones and access the tour were clear and easy. Unfortunately the Audio App tour is not in the order in which you walk around the Castel which was very confusing. The first two sections are actually the last two areas that you walk through before exiting the Castel. It’s not until you are nearly at the center of the Castel that the Audio App lines up with what you are seeing. The audio itself is informative the tour organisers just need to spend a bit of time making sure it’s in the right order.

We went straight in no queues to wonder at your leisure some amazing views and history behind the castel only down fall is that the bar wasn't open so could have views and refreshments overlooking the front and no souvenir shop that I saw but amazing experience
