At first, I was a little skeptical because I know the tickets are free to see the pope, but I thought it was well worth it for our first time in Rome and making sure we got the best seats to see the pope. It made us get there early so that we were able to get a good seat and the guide helped us not only pick the seat but told us some of the history of the building and square.

1) Was moved from English to Spanish group. 2) Our group was one the last to move 3) Because of that the seats weren’t that good 4) The Popemobile didn’t even came close 5) Disappointing experience. We could to the same by ourselves and the reason for 3 stars is that the guide had nothing to do with all this and she seemed knowledgeable and committed.

Papal Audiences are always free. The description is misleading as it is worded to seem like there will be a tour of the basilica prior to the audience. This has someone giving some facts prior while you walk in as a group. If you’d prefer not to stand in a line to secure tickets yourself then this would be a paid option as they’ve already secured and retrieved the tickets for you.

Humbling experience

Seeing the Pope in person and only 8 feet away! The event (every Wednesday) is excellently organised and presented. Go even if you have a different faith or none. Shortly after the audience, the band started playing but we had left the Square and could not regain entrance. Pity our Guide did not mention this extra attraction during her talk.

The audience With the Pope was excellent, because other tour operator gave me the ticket for free. From Viator, they just took my money and did nothing, no ticket and they could not be contacted. I think it was a scam.

Overwhelming experience- not sure the guided tour was needed basically just met you and walked you round to the queue and waited with you. We came straight of the night train and had luggage they were not knowledgeable about where to store this a very very kind young man who had accompanied his mother took our luggage as he was not going
