Itinerary

Depending on the season and weather conditions and the number of devotees visiting that day, the audience can take place in the Audience Hall, St. Peter's Basilica, or St. Peter's Square.

Start this unique day with a comfortable coach tour that traverses Rome. As you pass by legendary landmarks, learn about the history of the city from your guide. See the ancient Aurelian Walls, the Villa Borghese, and Piazza del Popolo with its twin Baroque churches and the Egyptian obelisk at the center of the public space.

Then cross over the Tiber River and pass by the imposing Castel Sant' Angelo, the tomb of Roman Emperor Hadrian, before arriving in Saint Peter's Square.

This tour company is very poorly organized and operated. The station that you meet at is really just a restaurant. There was no one to meet us until after we contacted th e company. Our date was a meet with the the new pope. Security was in place. No coach tour was available. Another employee rushed us over to our guide who simply introduced himself, stood inline with the guests, handed us our tickets to the venue, then disappeared. We contacted the company and were told this was normal. This is not the way other tour companies operate. Everyone stays together and are guided through the venue. We are extremely disappointed in their service. Thankfully, the papal Wed. Mass was extremely full and wonderful.

Good Shepherding Inside the Vatican

Massimo and another woman were the ones who met us in front of Caffe San Pietro. Their task was really to just gather us outside, get us in line and through the security, and gesture to the row of seats where we could sit. Besides entry to the Vatican, they provided a free ticket for a one-day hop-on-the-bus tour with their company, as well as a discount coupon at a local souvenir shop where there was a bathroom. Other than this, we were on our own after the papal audience.

This tour was a rip-off. The tickets to see the Pope are free. You can get them from the Vatican. If you get there early enough you can get a great seat. We were quite a distance from the steps but the Pope-mobile did go right past us so we did get to see the Pope. The second part of the "tour" included a hop-on, hop-off bus ride, but there was no bus stop anywhere near the Vatican and it was too far to walk to get one so we didn't get to use what we actually paid for. It was very difficult to find our guide in the morning as he had no sign and was not at the indicated meeting place. He never introduced himself to us either. Greenline Tours are definitely not worth it - save your money by not buying this.

Was doubting this activity because of some of the reviews but it became the best moment of my Europe trip. Well organised. We got to see the Pope close when he passed by us and attend his Wednesday audience with the public... but literally you don't need to buy a tour for this cz it's free.. the tour is a scam!!! The tour guide meets you, talks a little bit of Vatican history and brings you to a store for shopping .. scam!!!

The Audience was free, but it was impossible to reserve a ticket on the official site only one day ahead. So, I bought our last-minute tickets a day before the Audience, and we met the Pope! The guide helped lead our way in the long line. According to him, groups use another gate to the square, which is much shorter than the regular line. However, the guide’s decisive switching back to the regular line convinced us that having an experienced guide helps ease uncertainties, and the price is worthwhile. The guide pays attention to details and makes a difference.

The most memorable part of the tour was seeing Pope Francis. That is about all I can say good about this tour. Once you got to the “meeting point” there was no clear direction as to where you are to meet the group as there were hundreds of people there. When we started walking to the sitting area, the tour guide left the group. I might as well not even purchased this! Why is this even offered. What is the point?!?

Pope Francis mass experience was amazing, tour person Massimo very arrogant and at the end we we're given a hop on hop off tickets which was horrible, the waiting time for the buses was 2 hours, that ending part screwed up the whole tour.

Easy way to go to Pope's audience

Great way to reduce hassle of securing the free tickets and getting to a popes audience. Seated right by the fence area that the pope passes and unobstructed views of the audience. About an hours waiting around, but got lovely photos of sunrise at St Peter's Square and Basillica while waiting.
