Julia was a wonderful guide - personable, professional, and warm. She helped us through security and the lines, and we ended up with wonderful seats just a few over from the center row. She kept us entertained right up until the audience began. A fantastic experience - highly recommend.

Papal Audience was amazing the location of our seats allowed us to be very close to the Pope when he drives by the crowd. We were settled in early and able to use restrooms. Our guide was amazing and gave us an overview of what to expect and how to see everything. I would definitely recommend this experience with this company.

    Horrible experience

    Melissa_S, Aug 2026
Horrible experience!!! Unorganized!! Groups too large. A Lot of waiting. Poor seat due to tour group so slow. Missed second tour because we were in the back of the BASILICA BECAUSE TOUR WAS SO SLOW.with no refund for the 2nd tour we missed due to poor management. MANY PEOPLE LEFT THE TOUR!

    We shook the Pope’s hand!

    Katie_C, Aug 2026
We used this tour strictly for timing and location to get the best spot. We had the unusual occurrence that it was moved inside for heat and the tour guide set an earlier meeting time as he had learned from the week prior. This worked out perfectly. Because of prior experience we knew what to do when we got through security so we left the tour and secured an aisle spot. We all shook Pope Leo’s hand. It was incredible. My kids never would have had this experience without the expertise of the guide. Max’s guidance while we waited in line was very interesting. I liked that he was very detailed about the history while keeping the group on task and in order. I highly recommend this!

Missed Tour - Couldn’t Locate Meeting Point

    James_K, Aug 2026
We missed our tour because could not find the meeting point. We asked soldiers.and police personnel for directions, but still could not locate. No Viator signage or any visual indication of a meeting point. Very disappointed.

We saw the pope up Close!!

    Don_S, Aug 2026
Exceptional. Our guide got us so close to see the pope and was very knowledgeable about the Vatican and its workings

Pope Leo is worth the wait in the heat

    Mario_O, Jun 2026
If you go in June, be prepared to have sunscreen, and protective clothing. If you're Catholic and love Pope Leo, like we do, the heat was well worth the experience! Also, our guide Julia, was wonderful! She was the best!

    Waste of money

    Nancy_M, Jun 2026
Waste of money ! Do it on your own and get in faster . We had to wait for the entire group and the tour guide seated us all the way in the back even though we got here at 6:40 am.

Seamless experience to see the Pope

    Diane_N, Jun 2026
Excellent guide to help us navigate the massive crowds. She shared very interesting stories and facts and well with the price.

    Profound and beautiful experience!

    Kenneth_S, Jun 2026
As a Catholic, this was a profound experience for me. I didn't realize when I booked it that we were going to witness the pope's final public audience of the Jubilee Year when the Holy Doors are open. Our guide was wonderful and obtained the very best seats possible for us to see Pope Leo up close. I could practically reach out and touch him when the "pope mobile" stopped right in front of our group. And I was able to get some incredible photos! There was a ceremony and a papal blessing that left me in tears. Everything about this tour was magical and I am so happy that I included it as part of my Christmas visit to Rome.

    Great expeirience

    Dana_C, Jun 2026
Julia was a great guide and got us very close to the Pope. Be aware that it is a very early morning for the 10AM experience, but there really isn’t another option if you want to have good seats.

    Viva il papa

    Mary_W, Jun 2026
The guide made sure our group got great seats. Was able to see the pope up close. The weather was hot but going to the audience was well worth it. The pope simply radiates joy.

    Worth the money

    Mary_H, Jun 2026
Paying for the tour was so worth the money. Julia led us through the crowd with our secured tickets. Our choice of seats was amazing.

    Great experience with Julia!

    Jennifer_M, Jun 2026
The audience with Pope Leo was a great experience for our family and our guide Julia made sure we had great seats. From the beginning Julia gave us lots of interesting facts and enhanced our experience. Thank you Julia!

    Recommended for first-time visitors

    Gerald_K, Jun 2026
For first time visitors this was worth the experience to gain benefit of our guide’s experience in navigating the crowds of pilgrims attending the Papal audience. While attendance is “free” it could have been overwhelming to try and figure it out on our own. That said, the initial registration process was very crowded and a bit chaotic. We arrived earlier than the indicated 20 minutes ahead of time and we were glad we did. Our guide knew which security line would be least crowded and most efficient, and which seating area (first come first served) would give the best vantage points to view the proceedings as well as get close to the Pope during his pre-audience “Pope-mobile” tour through the crowd. We would recommend for first-timers, but now that we are in the “circle” with our “insider” knowledge, we wouldn’t need to repeat if we have an opportunity to return to Rome for another audience.

    Perfect View of the Pope

    Leslie_S, Jun 2026
Our guide was amazing. He walked us right up the front of the second seating area, that put us right where the Pope was going to be driving by. So knowledgeable.

We had Sabrina as our tour guide and she got us a front row seat to see the Pope drive right in front of us! An experience of a lifetime! It was a hot one and waited from 7am till 10am for the Pope to come out. Make sure to not book a 10:30am tour or you’ll miss it!

Once in a lifetime experience, highly recommend

    Gail_M, May 2026
Sandra gave us a lot of information while we were waiting to see Pope Leo. She got us great seats very near to route

A wonderful, well-organized Papal Audience experience

    Diane_K, May 2026
There is still a tremendous amount of waiting even though you book these tickets. It is an EARLY morning with waiting in multiple lines. The guide was able to secure excellent seats for us. I would suggest bringing a book or something as you will have hours to fill before the audience begins. The headphones they give you to hear your guide as you walk to/get in to St Peter's square were not working (lots of static) which was frustrating. Overall though it was the easiest way to get to experience this and they made the lines as short as possible and guided us to the best seats which I would never have otherwise known.

    A memorable experience

    Charles_O, May 2026
This was truly an amazing and memorable experience we will never forget. Our tour guide Sabrina was excellent and she sought out great seats for our group.

    Perfect Papal Audience

    Viator Just Makes it Easy

Best experience ever. I got referred to the company by a friend of mine who used this service for her travel to Italy. I was not disappointed - all of my questions and concerns were answered promptly. The tour guide was not only on time, friendly and full of knowledge, he was extremely charismatic, funny and full of great jokes and stories.

    Fantastic Tour!

    Angela_G, May 2026
Great Tour! Highly recommend! Our guide Anna was extremely knowledgeable and funny. She kept us laughing and well informed the history and about everything around us. The Basilica is gorgeous! We also paid to do the Dome which had amazing views but A LOT OF STEPS, (hundreds) even if you take the elevator, as it only goes about half way up. Keep in mind, this is not a “skip the line” tour. You wait in the regular line to get in just like any other visitor. We were there on a Wednesday and waited about an hour and a half to get inside the Basilica.

We had Valeria as a tour guide, she is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We had an amazing time on our Papal visit. We had good seats & were able to see Pope Leo XIV & captured good photos of our beloved Pope.

Papal visit with Sandra as our guide

    John_Z, May 2026
Ask for Sandra to be your tour guy. Go with a smaller group and pay extra. Makes for a much better experience. Our guide Sandra was fun, knowledgeable, caring and attentive. I know she was hired through Viator. She has a separate company. Excellent guide.

    Great tour

    Lauren_C, May 2026
Excellent. Easy and informative; laura our tour guide was impeccable and knowledgeable. Loved it! Would recommend!

    Well worth booking

An amazing morning. Meeting point was well organised & our guide Max was great. We were showed to our seats so close to the Pope. A fabulous day to remember.

Great tour guide, though I thought we would get better seats. Our guide got us through the process without any stress.

    Vatican Papal Audience

    Thomas_M, May 2026
To prepare for the Pope’s arrival you must arrive about 4 hours prior to the actual event. The event itself last approximately 1 hour. All in all it’s worth attending once in a life time.

    Papal Audience

went around most of the crowds, and got us to a place with good views of the Pope. Had interesting information about Vatican City
