No dolphins or turtles on our trip. Hadn’t seen a dolphin in 4 days. Took us out where turtles sleep. Fed some fish. Saw more people in the water than wildlife.
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Mahalo for sharing your feedback regarding your recent wildlife tour. We appreciate your understanding of the unpredictable nature of wildlife sightings. While we strive to provide memorable experiences, it’s important to remember that wildlife can be sporadic, and sightings can vary significantly from one trip to another.
We’re sorry to hear that you didn’t see any dolphins or turtles during your tour. It’s not uncommon for certain species to be elusive, and we understand how disappointing that can be. We do our best to take our guests to areas where wildlife is typically spotted, including places where turtles often rest.
We value your insights and are continually working to improve our tours. Thank you again for your understanding, and we hope you consider joining us on another adventure in the future!

Please note this boat tour is best for a family adventure. All ages are welcome but it is best for a family with smaller children. The boat is NOT a glass bottom but has 4 viewing holes to view the ocean below. We visited in June and did not see any turtles or dolphins however we dis see two types of fish. I know it is a 50/50 chance of seeing dolphins or turtles but I was disappointed in not seeing them. The boat speed is low and has available life jackets if you need one. Basically it was an hour at low speed boat ride around the harbor and surrounding area. Again if you are looking for a low impact, family friendly boat ride this is your activity.
Response from Host, Jul 2025
Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your recent boat tour experience! We appreciate your feedback and are glad to hear you found our tour suitable for families, especially those with younger children.
We understand the excitement that comes with hoping to see dolphins or turtles during your outing. While marine life sightings can be unpredictable, we strive to ensure that every guest has a lovely time on the water. We're glad that you were able to see some fish, but we’re sorry to hear that the absence of dolphins and turtles was disappointing.
Our low-speed boat rides are designed to be relaxing and enjoyable for all ages, and we aim to provide a safe environment with life jackets available for those who need them.
Thank you for your review, and we hope you consider joining us again in the future—perhaps on your next family adventure! Mahalo

Captain Austin and Casey were super pleasant and very knowledgeable. I think they made it as interesting as possible. It was a little disappointing. I knew we probably wouldn’t see any whales but I thought at least dolphins. I think the name of excursion may need to be changed during off season.
Andy_G, Mar 2025
The boat ride was nice the captain and one crew member was very nice zero turtle, dolphins or whales seen but still a nice trip
Response from Host, Mar 2025
Thank you for your review! We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the boat ride and found our captain and crew to be friendly. While we’re sorry you didn’t get to see turtles, dolphins, or whales this time, we appreciate your understanding.

We saw absolutely nothing apart from a few fish 😂 and just because they feed them from the boat. Wasted money!!!
Response from Host, Mar 2025

GENNETTE_F, Mar 2024
Very fun experience got a chance to see some pretty fish, turtles, and whales The water was very clear and blue
Amber_P, Feb 2024
The trip was very fun and relaxing! We didn't see any whales on the trip but a ton of turtles and fish!! The staff was super nice and considerate as well!!
Lisa_A, Jan 2024
As most of the other comments say, this is NOT a whale watching trip. But unless you check reviews and not just stars, youre likely to be disappointed.
The boat doesn't even go into deeper waters where a whale might be, unless the capt. spots something worth the detour. I absolutely would've paid more for the proper longer tour if I'd known.
Response from Host, Nov 2024
Aloha Lisa_A,
Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We apologize if our tour did not meet your expectations for whale watching. Our primary aim is to give guests a unique experience viewing the diverse marine life through our glass bottom feature, and we regret if this was not clear prior to your trip. We will work on improving our communication about tour specifics to ensure clarity and customer satisfaction. Your comments are invaluable to us and help us improve continually.
Best wishes,
Hawaii Glass Bottom Boats Management

It was a nice boat ride but that is all it was. We seen a few fish, but that was quite a let down. We did not see turtles or dolphins.
Adam_O, Dec 2023
Nice simple outing but this should be titled Honolulu Coast Tour. It's just a short out and back with info about the history of Honolulu, not wildlife.
Perla_M, Dec 2023
The captain and crew are friendly . It’s. A nice way to see fish , dolphins and turtles without getting in the water . Me and and family enjoyed it
Jaime_R, Dec 2023
This is advertised as Whale Watch, Dolphins, Turtles and Sightseeing Cruise (winter only)
1 hr tour at $40. Saw no Whales, no Dolphins, a couple of Turtles but far away, Did see Fish Fish and lots of Fish. This is nothing but a sightseeing tour which btw was enjoyable. You are better off bonking a 2hr tour at double the price ($80 to $99) that guarantees you will see whales or your money back. Such tours have someone fallow the whales every morning therefor they know exactly where the whales are.
Marie_F, Dec 2023
The tour is called "Whale Watch, Dolphins, Turtles and Sightseeing Cruise (winter only)" thus indicating that one amongst other purposes of the tour is to see whales. Moreover, the picture of the tour was of a giant whale, and since the tour is only available in winter, this also indicates the the purpose of the tour is to see a whale. However, when we arrive at the boat, the tour guide says that we might see a whale but this is not for sure, and that "this tour is not a whale tour". The boat only sailed close to Waikiki, and as such it was not even a possibility seeing a whale. If you want to see whales, I do NOT recommend this tour.
Kristopher_J, Mar 2023
DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY-PAY MORE AND ACTUALLY GET TO SEE SEALIFE! We looked for awhile how long the tour was. It wasn't listed anywhere. Not in FAQs. Didn't get a response back as we booked night before. At first we loved the guide. He and his wife we educated and witty. But it became clear this was a terrible tourist trap quickly. I feel safe even calling it fraud. The title says whales, dolphins, turtles. But they seemed to just want to show us this wrecked boat with tiny fish around it that they fed (not sure if legally). We spotted whales not that far off, but he wouldn't even got within a half mile. They made ZERO effort to find dolphins. Saw whales in the off again on way back. He could have easily cruised out them. They weren't far from shore. But instead he said we needed to get back for next group. This isn't something that can be blamed on bad luck. They made no effort. And we're back to dock within 90 mins

Whale sighting and turtles and the captain was very entertaining we. Loved his jokes and his information on the history of Waikiki
amber_b, Mar 2023
Sadly we saw no dolphins or whales but we did see 4 turtles. The guide was knowledgeable and nice. They fed the fish
DEBORAH_W, Mar 2023
Nice relaxing time with lots of info. Would have loved for it to be longer. Would definitely recommend if you are short on time but need a water fix.
Amy_M, Mar 2023
We seen nothing!! Gorgeous view of the sea and land! Felt very hurried! Captain knew great history of the island. Was wishing to see more sea life! We just went the Waikiki coast and straight back! Very disappointing!
Tammie_R, Mar 2023
This was well worth the money, we seen sea turtles, whales, and fish, Awesome views of the island. Employees were friendly and very knowledgeable.
Dryden_D, Feb 2023
The guys running the boat were awesome and very entertaining. We saw a few turtles but no whales. Still a nice short trip up and down Waikiki
Dom_W, Feb 2023
Advertised as whale watching and once we boarded the boat we were told it is not a whale watching boat. The advertisement showed a whale and stated that it was a whale watching boat. Very frustrating to say the least!
Brett_K, Feb 2023
Captain and first mate were great! Came upon a sleeping pod of dolphins (around 20), a couple sea turtles and tropical fish. No whales but can’t win em all. Had a great time on our trip! Highly recommend!
Michelle_P, Feb 2023
We had a great crew. Thanks to Jason and Ford foe finding the dolphins. Whale and turtles. It was a very smooth rideand very enjoyable. Yes I would go with them again. Thank you
Randy_C, Feb 2023
Amazing crew, very clean ship, the crew was able to locate and identify species for our family and others! A great ride!!
Madeline_K, Jan 2023
Our capitains were super friendly and incredibly informative about everything from local language to good food to other attractions in Honolulu and on Oahu. It was awesome to run into a large pod of dolphins, and seeing the whale calf flipping in circles was definitely a highlight that I won't soon forget.
