- CHECK-IN TIME: Check in is 45 minutes prior the start time of tour. A safety demo is given 15 minutes prior to the tour, if you miss the safety demo will have missed your tour
- A minimum of 2 people per booking is required
- Minimum age is 7 years
- All passenger weights MUST be advised at time of booking. 235lb/106kg weight limit.
- Long pants and covered shoes are recommended; bring a light jacket if the weather is cold
- We ride rain or shine. If canceled due to unsafe weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund
- Phones or small cameras are allowed.
- No pregnant or intoxicated riders are allowed to ride.
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 12 travelers

We did a 1-hour sunset ride with Amanda. I rode Joey. It was so much fun! The horses were gentle and the scenery was beautiful. It was an interesting ride through forest and pastures with expansive vistas along the way. Exploring Oahu by horse is the way to go. Amanda was fun and explained the geological history of the island during the tour. Definitely coming back for another ride. ❤️

If you’re staying in Waikiki it’s very far. We missed out on another excursion because the distance and the unforeseen traffic.

Very professional crew that walks you through the whole experience. You will love the horses and the other animals at the check-in where the horses are picked for each rider.

Very friendly, professional staff/rangers & even more beautiful horses! 🤎 The team (Shaylee, Summer & Alannah) knew their stuff, and the ride itself was beautiful getting a unique view of the islands bush-lands. We had the best time with our tour guide Beth! She was so friendly, knowledgeable about the land, horses and she is so kind. The ride was amazing, the staff is genuinely friendly and the views were incredible. My horse Libby made the ride a breeze and my husband’s horse Baloo was so fun and friendly. Such a great stop to make if you’re by the north shore! We will definitely be back!!

Our guide Blaze was amazing!! She was so friendly and reassured all of the members from the party throughout the trail. It was my first time ever horseback riding and I enjoyed every minute of it. The Gunstock ranch is located in the very secluded and quite part of the island so if you like something laid back, then I highly recommend this place. Will be coming back here for sure!

Prompt, informative, and friendly. Knowledgeable and horses are obviously loved and cared for. Run by the LDS community though so if that's not something you like to support understandable. Overall positive experience.

Wish we had a moment to explore the cave. It was just pointed out as we rode by. Otherwise, it was as expected.

Aloha! Thank you for the review. The cave is an awesome spot on the ranch to explore! If you would like to go into the cave, we have UTV tours that allow you to go inside of it and hit some other really cool spots on the ranch. We hope to see you back again soon!

The ride was nothing special, at all just a small circle around the ranch, the horses were very tired and their water was filled with dead flys and slime this price was ridiculous… and if you are in Honolulu or Waikiki it’s a hour and 15 minutes away.

The 1-hour tour is meant for those who want a shorter experience which means you can't get further up in the mountains and take in the spectacular views. We understand the drive may have also contributed to your frustration however we are always excited that our guests take the time to get out of Waikiki and see the other side of the island. We can also assure you that we adore our horses and work daily to make sure they are well taken care of as you can read in many of the other reviews.

Wonderful western ride in Hawaii. The wranglers, Jess and Anna were fabulous guides. Learning the history of the land and conservation of Gunstock Ranch was superb! Wish we could have booked a longer ride—will come again! Make sure to enjoy the petting zoo and plant a tree for a loved one too!

We had a wonderful time horseback riding! This was my first time, and I was really nervous, but Ryan rode behind me and comforted me the entire time! The entire staff was super friendly and the horses are amazing. They’re very calm and sweet, and well trained! I would love to come back and ride the horses again! Wonderful experience!

The entire ride was magical. We saw parts of the island we wouldn’t be able to see otherwise. I was especially impressed with how they supported my nervous 10 year old. She woke up the next day and said she missed Toby her horse!
