We had a great time on our ride. My husband and I did the Sweetheart ride. I hadn’t been on a horse in 30 years but the wranglers do a job of making it easy for you and the horses are super laid back. We rode up to a beautiful spot, had lunch then rode back. I recommend this ranch.

Well worth it! The tour guide was knowledgeable and the horses were very well behaved. It was my first time riding a horse but they made it a very pleasant experience! Not to mention the lunch they provided added an extra wonderful experience that made it more special. I would definitely recommend.

We had the best time on our Sweetheart ride with Connor! My best friend and I decided to opt for the private tour and it was absolutely worth the money. Connor was so friendly and knowledgeable about riding and as newbies we felt really comfortable. The trail was incredibly scenic, photo worthy and lush. The property is huge and beautiful. At the top of the trail we had a private picnic at an ocean lookout with a beautiful banyon tree with a swing. The ride back had an ocean view. We felt so comfortable with Conor and on our horses, I want to bring friends back soon. We also somehow lost our Tesla key on the ride and Conor went back and somehow found it on the trail for us so he’s our hero ◡̈ Thank you for a special experience!

Special Couples Ride

I would HIGHLY recommend this tour. We opted for the couples sweetheart horse ride with a private guide instead of having a bunch of people with us. It wasn't a lot more in price and we received individualized attention. Caleb was very knowledgeable of the area and we enjoyed getting to know him, how he came to Hawaii, about his wife, and his future dreams. The horses were very tame and easy to manage. If you've never ridden a horse, the guides are there for you every step of the way, making you feel safe and secure. After about an hour of riding (very slow, no galloping involved:) we came to a look out over the valley and Caleb presented a picnic lunch (sandwich, chips, cookies, candy, water, fruit drink, and sparkling cider) for us. He left us in privacy for about 30 minutes to enjoy private conversation as we dined at a picnic table. He even brought a table cloth for us:) Then we had about another hour ride back to the ranch. The staff were friendly and the ranch had this "family-oriented-cozy" atmosphere. **You can bring your own water (they give you a pouch to put items into). Or you can buy water for $2/bottle

From start to finish everyone was professional and friendly. They answered all questions and the ride was beautiful and peaceful. The horses are so well behaved and trained. Loved the spot they took my wife and I too to have our couples lunch the view was amazing. I would recommend the couples ride for any couple who wants a great experience.

so amazing and worth it. me and my boyfriend had a beautiful experience. 10000000/10. our guides name was Annie and she was so sweet and knowledgeable. gave us so much information about the islands plants and the ranch history. we got horses Tonto and Bud, they were so sweet and mellow. sights were gorgeous and the food was perfect.

Incredible ride and amazing service

We really enjoyed our horseback ride! It was beautiful and the view from the top was amazing! The staff was incredibly helpful and kind. We’ve done a lot of guided rides all over the world but this ranch takes the very best care of their horses. They have special diets, weekly chiropractor visits, days off, and limited rides per day for the horses. I loved seeing how well these horses were treated. Everyone on this ranch from the horses to the workers seems happy and well taken care of. I was extremely impressed by gunstock ranch and will definitely recommend to everyone!

Laid-Back, Local Island Tour

We were not able to enjoy the sweetheart horseback ride due to the weight limitations they pose on riders. We were unaware that the limit included your full gear, which makes a big difference. While we understand the need to make sure the horses are safe, there was nothing we saw on the ranch that would have impaired the animals. As we have horses ourselves, and some of the stock here were draft animals, there should have been no reason we couldn't enjoy the horseback tour. That said, they were accommodating and switched us off to an ATV tour instead. This tour actually was a bit better as we were able to see much more of the ranch and enjoy a few hidden gems along the trail! Our guide was great and provided us with some history of the ranch and the island. We also received lunch on the trail, which was very adequate, as we even got to take some home with us! If you are looking to explore the island in a bit more laid back & non-touristy way, then we'd definitely recommend the Gunstock Ranch!

I booked this as a romantic excursion with my boyfriend and it was an amazing time! The views were awesome, the food was honestly delicious and they include so much! Makenna was our guide and Aspyn joined us as well. She was very knowledgable about the area and gave recommendations that fit so well for us. The horses were well trained and well behaved. This trail ride is super easy for anyone, even if you’ve never ridden before!

Absolutely loved visiting Gunstock Ranch. My husband and I love riding horseback & booked the private tour while on O’ahu. Our guide, Trinity, was absolutely incredible & we loved getting to know & ride our horses Raider & Ikaika. The views at the top of the tour are incomparable. The horses and other animals are clearly well-cared for, which we appreciated and respected most. All staff was incredibly friendly & we loved that photos were taken throughout the tour that we could purchase at the end, so we could just enjoy our time at the ranch and take in the moments. Highly recommend! We will definitely be back!

Really awesome staff and the horses were so well behaved. Everyone made it so easy for someone who hasn't been on a horse in years. Spectacular views and probably the best activity we chose on the whole vacation! Def recommend! This place is tucked back and hidden away from the onslaught of tourism. We hate too many people and this place was just perfect.

Our Tour Guide Ashley was excellent. Ashley was very informative and a great conversationalist. The breathtaking view of the ocean from the top was beautiful. I would recommend this ride. The horses are trail horses, so they were calm. I knew in advance due to liability issues that running the horses would not be allowed. I haven't ridden in a while so riding the trail was satisfactory.

We had the option to book that other famous horseback riding location on Oahu or this one. I would say this one was hands down much better experience. A personalized horseback ride with just us and our guides. A beautiful picnic spot on top of a hill. Would be a great spot for a proposal or any other special celebration. Beautiful. Loved this ranch horseback ride.
