My wife and I had a very nice experience "night snorkeling" with Robbie. The tour is intimate, and in fact due to a cancelation, it ended up being just the two of us plus the tour guide this evening. Although we have a good deal of experience snorkeling, my wife was tentative about being in the ocean after dark (can we all say "Jaws"?), but Robbie put her at ease after explaining how everything worked. One nice change the company has made is to start the snorkeling before sunset. Plenty of light to get use to the surroundings. Robbie provided high-end snorkeling gear, including flashlights for us. We snorkeled an easy 1/4 mile one way, near the shore and across coral-laden waters, to a cave where sea turtles were found swimming in and out of. Robbie dove down to the seabed and came up with a few sea creatures for us to hold and examine with his excellent knowledge of all-things ocean. We did end up seeing a 4-foot white-tipped reef shark swimming 10 feet under us, but it wanted nothing to do with us. Robbie took photo stills and videos of us and some of the sea animals we were encountering. It was a well-spent extra $75. By the time our cave destination was finished (you don't go "in" the cave), the sky was dark-ish, and flashlights were in use. Overall it was great experience and worth the money. Robbie was excellent and should be requested. The only reason it is not a 5-star is that we experienced swells during much of the snorkeling. My wife was fine, but I get a little nauseous. If I would have thought of it, I would have brought and worn my "Relief Band" which is a great product for those who get motion sickness.

This was an incredible experience, and our guide, Robbie, was awesome! He patiently taught the newbies in the group and helped us feel comfortable in the water. We saw 10 or so turtles, lots of fish, and got to hold sea urchins and sea stars. Buy the photos - it’s so worth it!!

From the turtles to octupi, it was a beautiful sunset snorkeling.
The guide (Robbie) was amazing. Reassuring, knowledgeable and an unbelievable photographer
Also, very small group. It was only 5 people on the excursion.
Only thing I Would change is titwl...it is a sunset experience not nighttime.

This is the amazing tour, see the turtles on the sea is beautiful. No recommend to little kids under 12, unless they are brave enough. Happen to my 9 year old. My 13 have amazing time.

Truly one of the highlights of our Maui trip. From start to finish our guide Alec was awesome. The turtles were swimming all around the area he took us too, and the sea life came alive at night. We saw more than 10 turtles. The equipment was top of the line, just everything. Can’t say enough about this small company and their guide, Alec!

If you like snorkeling and you want to see turtles, this is the adventure for you! There are an abundance of turtles, and they swim right up to you. Robbie, the guide, is extremely knowledgeable. In addition to turtles, he brings up starfish, sea urchins, and an octopus (if he can find one) for everybody to hold. Lots of great pictures, as well!!

Instructor Robbie was awesome. I was a it anxious in the beginning and thought about sitting out while my wife. He assured me and had me tow along on the board until I relaxed and got comfortable. I did and then really got to enjoy the excursion. Unfortunately we didn't see a lot of turtles, but we did see one and it swam beside us for quite awhile. Also spotted an eagle ray and shark. The equipment worked really well and the setting was awesome. Really appreciated Robbie patience and safety first attitude. Fantastic evening out!

Really fun trip, Robbie was chill and awesome and made sure everyone was able to see all the cool creatures. This is definitely a tour for folks who are a little more comfortable with swimming and snorkeling, but it was very easy for someone who has done this before.

Robbie was our guide. Super chill, and showed us all the cool creatures! Made sure we knew turtle locations! Lots of turtle activity. Had a cool group that added to the experience! Gorgeous location, tiny beach with beautiful views. Out in the water we were free to explore, but still felt super safe. So grateful!
Expect to enter the water in full light, and exit as it’s dark. Expect a decent swim to the caves. Expect waves (it’s the ocean after all!) Expect the group to explore, so you will be on your own a little! Expect that the guides will make sure you’re all good!
Loved this trip! Beats the mass produced and large crowd snorkels by a mile!!

Started at 5:10- not 6:30-
Wasn’t very dark until the last 10 mins of the tour-
Was not an hour and a half long. We were in the water for 45 minutes- then the time it took to get our mask and Fins..
They charge you $30 a person for photos which does NOT say anywhere in the booking it acts like it’s included.
We saw a few turtles, and one octopus..
Light he gave my wife died within first few minutes of using it.
I wouldn’t recommend.
I’m very disappointed in this tour and wish we would have looked elsewhere.
Save your money and do something different trust me.

Aloha, Adam here owner of Zephyr. We do appreciate your honest feedback so we can take these concerns and address them. I will be discussing these issues with my team to make some changes. The night tour never should have started at 5:15. I will have to investigate with my team on why this happened. The total tour time is 1.5 hours, that includes gearing up so often times water time should be around an hour to 1:15. The flashlight never should have died either, I will be calling you to discuss further.

We are amateur snorkelers... we got so lucky and had the experience to ourselves. Our guide was Jon and he is a total gem!!! We felt like we knew him before we even met him. He made us feel comfortable and always let us know what we were going to be doing. We felt very safe. We saw turtles, reef sharks, and most INSANELY ENOUGH we saw spotted eagle rays!!! Jon swam down and picked things up for us to hold. Once we were done
we struck up a conversation about the Axis Deer population and what did we hear behind us up on the hill?? DEER! this experience is top tier. Jon took so many photos of us. He was sooo enthusiastic and attentive the entire time. Please book with them!! (Only thing I'd say is make sure you're somewhat in shape because you will swim a good bit but you will wear life vests!!!)

The tour guide cared about safety, which was necessary due to one of the party members becoming ill. I would suggest to say in the activity description, you have to swim a quarter of a mile out to the destined location to see the turtles, so be in good shape. Boogie board could use more light to see at the cave entrance. Overall good time.

Unfortunately, the ocean was pretty choppy and churned up on the evening that we did this tour. We saw a lot of turtles, and a few fish, but not much else. Our guide, Robbie, was very good and did his best to find things for us to see.

No snorkeling tour can hold a candle to this one !! Robbie was so amazing !Hes so I nowledgeable and made sure we not only saw so many turtles, but multiple other ocean creatures too. He made sure we were always safe and comfortable and got soo many amazing photos of us!
