Kristin, the owner, and Sierra and Jade, the trail guides, were incredible. They checked on everybody to make sure we were super safe at all times. My husband is diabetic, and they were very attentive to him providing soda and doing frequent check ins. The tide is dusty, up and down trails with spectacular views of the ocean. We got our money’a worth. The trail ride itself was 2 1/2 hours. We would definitely use this company again.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The ride was up the mountain and down. At the highest point we stopped and the guides took individual group pictures with the mountain waterfalls in the background. One suggested improvement is to stop at various scenic views on the trail up and down so guests could take pictures astride the horses.

I don’t ride horses but they put me on a sweet one. The overlook is really pretty. It was cool. If you’re into horses, probably a good trip. It was good for me.

I have been riding here for several years. I love the experience. Everyone is very nice and helpful. I love running the horses and it doesn’t disappoint. I have a great ride.
Meredith_J, Apr 2026
Richard and Selena made it a lot of fun. The views are amazing and it was great. I was able to take pictures along the way as well as had them stop and take pictures of me on the horse

We thought this experience was okay. We had a few more expectations of what this would be, basically it’s a trail ride to a waterfall that is very far away. I expected to be closer to the waterfall, it basically doesn’t even appear in the photos. We didn’t ride to the ocean, just saw it from the trail, far away. So riding a horse was fun, but not quite what we expected.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
We’re sorry the experience didn’t fully meet your expectations. We want to clarify that the ocean portion of the trail was temporarily closed due to ongoing maintenance following the severe storm and natural impacts Maui recently experienced, which limited access to that area during your visit. We understand how this may have been disappointing, and we appreciate your understanding as we work to restore the full experience safely. Mahalo for riding with us, and we hope to welcome you back again for a more complete tour in the future.

The people are friendly and very helpful. Great views. The falls are very pretty, they are at a distance. They do allow you to run your horse when its safe to do so and only if you want to. They will ask you if you want to and they will tell you when you can. Thank you for such a wonderful time.
Paulette_S, Apr 2026
The horses were well taken care of and overall well behaved. The trail was pretty, even with a little rainfall during the ride. The guides were attentive and friendly. They did a nice job managing the group.

Such a wonderful time Richard was so sweet! It was my birthday, I was traveling alone and it was made so special. I got to ride Buck, the sweetest boy! If you are beginner or expert it is an experience you will not forget!

This city girl rode a horse! At first I was terrified, well, I was scared most of the trip (😂) but the guides were helpful and kept me close. I really appreciated that! They were very accommodating, and great to see the comfort and care they put into the horses. The horses were very sweet and you can tell they had a connection with them.

My wife and I had an amazing time horseback riding through the beautiful mountains of Hawaii together while on our honeymoon. The views were absolutely incredible and the staff and horses were great as well. We would recommend this excursion to anyone!

Riding the ATV’s was a fun way to enjoy views. Our tour guides did a fantastic job explaining the environment and culture that we were immersed in while on the tour. We had a fantastic time!
Darlene_J, Mar 2026
Very well run business. Animals well cared for!
Experienced staff. Nice trails with beautiful scenery and ocean views.
Michelle_K, Feb 2026
Great experience! Only thing is we wish we would’ve been told the atv tour was less than half the time of the horseback ride. My husband opted for the atv tour and had to wait nearly 2 hours for us to return. Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Yes I’m sorry. The ATVs and the horseback ride take the same trail. Yes the ATVs move much faster than the horses do. ATVs get back around 1030am and horses return around 1130am so there is an hour wait.
Becki_M, Feb 2026
Sierra and Jessie made the experience fun and enjoyable! Would recommend for seeing both the mountains and the ocean views.
John_H, Feb 2026
Beautiful views of the mountain and ocean. Horses are friendly and well cared for. Guides very helpful and take care of beginner riders really well

It is a bit of a drive to get to from Kaanapali - 1 hr or so and please read the full text from them. There is a parking spot on the left hand side and please don’t bother the house on the right of the road. Viator’s address is listed for that house for some reason. Stay in ur car and just wait for the 4wheeler to come and get u. U will drive again up to where the horses are stabled.
Our tour guide Richard was awesome and patient with the group. The horses are older and slow… so it was great for us non-experienced riders. View is great and Richard took multiple pictures for each group.
Definitely need to slather the sunscreen and wear a hat; wear junky closed toe shoes since ur footwear will get dirty (no HOKAs or wide chunky toes shoes- it’s hard to get ur foot into the stirrup); wear jeans since the saddle will irritate your skin from rubbing against it in shorts; and lastly enjoy talking with the rest of the small group- it made it so much fun.

The guides were great and whenever we stopped they checked on the gear. They took photos of us on the horses and the views were gorgeous
Karen_D, Jan 2026
The effort by the horseback guides and check in staff was evident, they are sincere and engaged. The comment I want to make is this particular ride is largely not on flat terrain. The horses navigate steep slopes both up and down. The pace is quick.
I have a lifetime of riding experience (owning and showing horses), and that experience gave me a lot of assurance on this ride. I know that if you give these seasoned horses their heads they can pick their way down steep inclines. I just do not know what this ride would feel like to a novice. It seemed only appropriate for intermediate and above riders to me.
The views were nice, the trails were unbelievably dusty in places and there was no waterfall.
The horses were well conditioned and well boned. The tack was in good condition.

Great experience with Kai and Cierra as our guides!
Small group size of less than 10 ensured personal and individual care at multiple points to check on the saddle and other details.
While State laws prohibit riding on the water, we rode on a higher path along the coast.
We did not go to any Waterfalls on this route.
Roxann_H, Jan 2026
Maybe split up groups. Make smaller groups so you can hear the leaders talk.
Also split up the skill level of riders. We waited a lot for riders to get back together.
Response from Host, Jan 2026
We schedule our guides we take our rides out in groups of approximately 12 riders per ride. We get all types of riders, including advanced riders and even seven-year-old children. For anyone who does not want to be in a group we offer private rides in which you can ride with just your party and a guide
Sheila_M, Jan 2026
Great guides, good horses, fantastic views! I plan on booking this adventure again on our next trip to Maui...it was that good!
Stephen_P, Dec 2025
What a great mellow ride throughout the forest and down to the beach.! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Wanwe_C, Dec 2025
no waterfall, and no “if you are experienced, you have two opportunities to canter or gallop, weather permitting” as mentioned in introduction.
as for the photos shooting part , they only took pictures on 2 spots for every group rather than record on the way-
Katherine_M, Nov 2025
Fun, great guides, mellow horses except Tiny had a bit of an attitude that day! Great trail except kind of muddy. Good view of the ocean from the bluff. Fun day we had. Encourage families and kids to go. Good for beginners and advanced riders.
Patricia_S, Nov 2025
Perfect scenery and trail time
Friendly staff
A highlight of our trip to Maui
As someone who owns horses , dress appropriately for riding, saw many people in the wrong attire
Julie_P, Nov 2025
Great experience. The owner and staff are so nice and accommodating. The day we went it was pouring rain but we still had a great time. Horses are well cared for and well mannered. Would highly recommend this place. Just keep your fingers crossed for sunshine. You will have fun regardless.
Marie_A, Nov 2025
It was a scenic ride and low key. We had a chance to gallop if we wanted to— half of our group did it.
They gave us good instructions before riding. We rode for about 2 hours.
Peter_B, Nov 2025
A must do on Maui. See the real island on the back o a horse. From jungle to sea. Well maintained hoses and safe.
Diane_J, Nov 2025
We did this ride in November and it had rained recently. The owner was very nice and did offer to reschedule us or give us a refund as we could not go up the mountain.
Having done at least 10 or more commercial rides at various parks in various states, this was an average ride. The guides were very nice and the horses appeared healthy and in good condition.
Th ride down toward the ocean was pretty, and of course the ocean views were gorgeous!
The two concerns I had were:
1. Even with 2 wranglers, the group got pretty spread out. Add to that the fact that the horses are used to cantering/galloping at two points, even though we had elected NOT to canter due to trail conditions, I was concerned that some very inexperienced riders were moving faster than I was comfortable with (I am a previous riding instructor). I heard no complaints so it is possible that they were fine with it, I just know they really had no choice at the time.
2. My second "complaint" is that there really is no riding along the coast. There is a small field with a view of the ocean and an opening to take a photo. It just wasn't what I was expecting.
Overall we had a fun time so I still recommend this if you want to ride on Maui! Be aware that if there has been any rain it is VERY muddy and dress accordingly!
