Top Maui Safaris

Explore Maui’s famous Road to Hana—without having to drive or navigate yourself. Spend a half-day driving the famous scenic road in an open-air safari van that immerses you in the lush Hawaiian rainforest. Make plenty of stops, including Wailua Valley Lookout, Keanae Arboretum, Pua’a Ka’a State Park and its falls, and a break for fresh banana bread.

See West Maui’s highlights as you enjoy the island breeze on a unique open-air bus tour with a small group. Your local guide shares their insight and handles all navigation and logistics. You’ll see Honolua Bay, the Kapalua resort area, Kaanapali’s coastal roads, and the Coffee Farm Overlook, with stops for photos along the way. Children must be at least 5 years old and meet booster seat and height requirements for safety.

Hit the road on an off-road vehicle during this small-group utility task vehicle (UTV) tour from Lahaina. Ideal for families or groups of friends, four-seater vehicles allow you to take the wheel or simply be a passenger. Choose to drive or be a passenger as you explore the west side, which includes a ride through Pu'u Kukui Watershed Preserve.

See all sorts of marine life that you might not spot from shore on this Maui snorkeling cruise. Head to the Molokai Crater in search of manta rays, sea urchins, eels, and even harmless sharks. This tour also stops at a spot called Turtle Town along the Maui coastline, where you have the chance to swim alongside enormous Hawaiian Green sea turtles.

Booking into a group surf class often means waiting for your turn and limited time actually riding. A private lesson in Maui gives you the instructor to yourself, starting with the basics on the beach at Maalaea before heading into the water to catch waves. The one-on-one format flexes to your level, whether it's your first time standing up or you're working on technique.

The offshore crater of Molokini has some of the best snorkeling spots in Maui—if you can reach them. Thankfully, this half-day snorkeling tour heads straight for Molokini and Turtle Town nearby on a 53-foot (16 meters) Lani Kai II boat with a 20-foot (6 meters) waterslide. Visit two snorkeling locations, get the chance to spot whales, and enjoy onboard breakfast and lunch. Whales sightings are seasonal in nature, from November through April.

Explore Lanai’s hidden coves, reefs, and sea cliffs with a small group instead of joining a crowded snorkeling cruise. Two snorkel stops offer opportunities to spot dolphins, turtles, octopus, manta rays, and other marine life, while winter departures may include whale watching. Every tour also supports local marine research and whale rescue efforts.

Discover the many waterfalls along the Road to Hana with a private guide to show you the best photo spots and vistas. While group tours spend more time driving, this personalized tour is focused on the adventures along the way. An ideal excursion for families, seniors, or couples, your flexible guide lets you set the pace rather than being forced to keep up with—or wait for—other tourists.
