Itinerary

Climb aboard a private, air-conditioned vehicle at your Lisbon hotel and prepare for the scenic 30-minute journey to Sintra. Along the way, your guide provides a historical overview of the satellite city replete with Romantic monuments.

Your first stop is the the UNESCO-listed center of Sintra, abundant with coiling cobbled streets and home to Sintra National Palace. Throughout the tour, your guide provides history-rich commentary designed to enhance your understanding of the area.

Next, head to Quinta da Regaleira a historic estate home to a mysterious grotto, a maze, and statues modeled on mythological gods. Spend a while exploring the grounds with your guide.

Back in top, stop for a wine tasting to learn about Portugal's rich winemaking history and sample regional varietals.

Next, ascend to the hilltop perch of the Castle of the Moors — parts of which date back to the 8th century — and capture panoramic views of Sintra on camera.

Continue to Cabo da Roca — mainland Europe's westernmost point — to watch waves crash on the coastline of the Atlantic Ocean.

Follow the curve of the coast to Estoril and Cascais, enjoying the beaches of the coastal resorts as you travel. Your final stop is Cascais, a former royal vacation town, to absorb its charm before concluding your tour with drop-off at your Lisbon hotel.

The Regaleira Palace was amazing. We had plenty of time to walk around and enjoy. Also, the wine tasting was nice. Our driver was very accommodating and entertaining.

José Ribeiro was our tour guide. He was the perfect host and made multiple stops, never rushed us, the perfect palace tour, a great restaurant for lunch, many out of the way stops, including a final gelato stop to finish out the day. We were totally impressed with his personalized your.... You will not be disappointed.

Excellent Tour, Luis was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and enjoyed his company. His Car was very nice and clean and comfortable. Sintra is absolutely breathtaking and fairytale like. I would recommend leaving cabo da roca and/or boca de inferno out of the tour and including Pena Palace instead in addition to quinta de Regaleira and the national palace. The restaurant recommended for lunch was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole day. I would recommend this tour to fellow travelers.
