The tour guide was a pleasant felllow who knew Lisbon; but he did not know the Jewish Story. While he took us to a synagogue and the memorial to the victims of the Inquisition, he did not know about other synagogues or the history of the Jews in Portugal.
We went to more churches than we would have liked and urged us to ascend the statute overlooking the city from the s=northern bank across from the museums. It was a nice view, but unrelateed to a Jewish tour. While we walked away with a good feel of the city and its history, we lacked any viable Jewish content.

Our driver NuNu was so courteous and knowledgeable and accommodating of everywhere we wanted to go. His Mercedes was immaculate and we learnt so much about Lisbon and Jewish life there

We had a great day with our guide Paulo. He accommodated us in every way with the change we made in sightseeing. We would have never seen some of the places on our own and it was really wonderful having a private driver. We especially enjoyed the private visit of the synagogue.
