Itinerary

After meeting your guide at your Lisbon hotel or in central Lisbon, hop aboard an air-conditioned coach for your half-day city sightseeing tour.

Marvel at the 25th of April Bridge which suspends over the Tagus River, the longest of its kind in Europe, and notice its similarity to San Francisco’s Golden Gate as you head to Belem.

Admire prime examples of Portuguese Manueline art, including the 16th-century UNESCO World Heritage-listed sites Belém Tower and Jerónimos Monastery, as you traverse the edge of the Tagus. Lisbon sightseeing is at its best at the Monument to the Discoveries. Learn how this monument celebrates Vasco da Gama’s expedition to the Americas during Portugal’s Age of Discovery in the 15th and 16th centuries.

Next, indulge in pure opulence at the neoclassical Palácio Nacional da Ajuda (Ajuda Palace), a former royal palace, and currently a home for important collections of 18th- and 19th-century art.

Then, explore Alfama, Lisbon’s oldest district, with a digital walking tour that covers over 40 points of interest in five languages.

Good tour but While on tour I wish we stay longer at each place, a bit to rush, over all good and good guide

The worse experience I can ever have

Susmita_S, Jun 2019
I miss the tour because they send me a wrong location. They are very non operative. I called them and I told I am waiting for them and then they mentioned the location is not correct. Once I reach to the proper location, they left me. They did not even refund for my tour. I don'd know this "Cityrama/Gray-Line logo" tour but I will recommend people not to book this tour again. pathetic thing this, they did not apologized for their job. Anyway good luck for them.

A great tour!

Anna M, May 2019
My kids and I stopped in Lisbon for a day and we didn’t have much time to spend in the city, but the tour turned out to be amazing even for small kids! We saw the main highlights of a magical city and I got to taste some port wine :). Highly recommended company: the organization was on top. We ran on time and could return back to the airport as planned.

Great tour--not to be missed

My tour guide was very professional, knowledgeable and translated the tour in 4 languages fluently! Put on your walking shoes!

a great start to have a quick overview of lisbon city and old town with this tour. i was actually running late by half an hour, due to my delayed flight. really grateful that Mariza, the tour guide kindly waited for me, only to find out upon rushing to the meeting point that i was in fact the only visitor for the day! so thankfully, they didn't cancel the tour altogether. it was indeed a nice and relaxing afternoon to learn about lisbon, thanks to Mariza's informative guided excursion via the comfortable van as well as walking tour.

The tour includes entrance to Coach Museum. But the guide did not even stop there in Coach museum. It is cheating!

We were on a cruise ship so took a taxi to the assigned meeting spot very reasonable located on bus amongst many across in the park. Was basically a driving tour, saw many points of interest, stopped at a location to do some quick shopping, ended up with a bit of a walking tour through some narrow streets, very picturesque! Ended tour with a stop at a lovely souvenir shop with samples of wine. From there we could walk back to our ship. Easy and relaxing tour... would recommend.

Prakash_K, Oct 2017
The 4-hour tour was a very brief glimpse into what the city has to offer. It wasn't an English only tour so the guide spoke for but a minute on a particular topic then 5 minutes in various other languages. Our Uber drivers were much more communicative. At our first stop Coaches Museum the guide let people wander off without giving anybody a time to meet up again.

Very comfortable tour with a lot of places to visit and just enough time to see them up close. It was the afternoon tour with the pickup from the hotel. Enjoyed. Highly recommend.

William G, Jul 2017
This was a very uninspiring tour led by an old guide who clearly didn't like Americans-- not sure why-- but he was annoyed whenever the English speakers would ask questions. I don't remember his name but he had grey hair and was in his 60's I'm guessing. It was packed with 60 people and the guide explained everything in at least 4 different languages-- English, Portuguese and Spanish and French, so often we would have passed the sight by the time the English came around. We spend a lot of time at the Coach Museum, which is the largest collection of carriages in the world. I found it mildly interesting but it had nothing to do with what the tour was supposed to be-- an overview of the city. I asked a few questions and the guide was clearly annoyed because he needed to keep to a rigid schedule. I just kind of felt like cattle on this tour-- they picked us up from a nearby hotel but then left us for about an hour to process us onto other buses. The only good thing is that our group has some ladies on it staying at the Four Seasons, so even high society ladies chose the boring, affordable tour too. I would pay more for a small group tour of the city through Lisbon Riders.

This tour gave an excellent overview of Lisbon area with an articulate and knowledgeable guide. A great way to start a three day visit to Lisbon.

Christopher_D, May 2017
The tour guide was amazing in that she did the entire tour in five simultaneous languages! But the actual tour itself was a bit too rushed! The Alfama stop was a joke! Just a cheesy tourist shop and a one-block walk just touching the outskirts of the district we returned on our own later. There was no stop at Sao Jorge castle at all! It was all just a bit too much and though inexpensive, we wish we had done this on our own instead.

Andrzej S, Mar 2017
The company promised the pick up, except the driver did NOT even bother stopping by the hotel because he was already late. Is that the company's treatment of the client? Is that the famous Portuguese honesty? I almost didn't make the tour, but I'm glad I did finally make it, because our tour guide was excellent and I enjoyed the city sightseeing tour immensely.

Karen_L, Oct 2016
This was not a good tour. Billed as a tour in English, the tour was given in 4/5 languages, so you didn't really get much of a sense of what was going on. You got snippets of information. Spent very little time at Jeronimos Monestary and Belem Tower, but spent more than 1 1/2 hours at the Coach museum. Must be better options for Lisbon touring.

anne r, Oct 2016
First of all the meeting point is false advertising. DO NOT WAIT BY THE STATUE. The tour is behind the statue and across the street behind some trees. you will see tour buses. The tour took you to the main parts of Belem but the Alfma area was one street for 10 mins and then it was time to go. All the other points were great to see however the tour guide had to talk in 4 languages. I was ok with this however when she spoke in English, she only told you very little and people who spoke the other languages even said to me that she was not giving as much in English as she was in other languages. it just meant that the tour basically took me to the points of interest and I have to try and figure out the rest for myself. Honestly when you get to Lisbon there are many tour companies and some that can show you around in English only

Daniel E, Sep 2016
Disappointing. The monument of the discoveries was a wasted stop because it was complete covered in scaffolding and practically invisible. We got to the Jernimos Monastery - which is beautiful, and massive - and I was shocked when the guide said she was giving is TEN MINUTES! Ten Minutes? It would take 10 minutes just to walk into and partially through the monastery! What is worse, I went in, rushed through some photos, and when I came out a few minutes later then 10 minutes, the guide made to pretense to the fact the she was angry at me - talking to the driver and waving her hands in my direction. Then we rushed from the Monastery after being allowed no time, to a - museum for carriages??? Didn't really get that. Finally we did stop in Alfama, which was nice- but we rushed through it, went to a souveneir store for the port wine tasting about 2 drops of wine, and to get us to buy souveneirs. Even when dropping us off, the guide seemed rushed and rather rude. I gave her a tip for some reason - but shouldn't have

The tour guide was too busy to talk to the driver, instead of pointing out important places as well as more detail of Lisbon's history.

Efficient tour with a capable host. The Coach Museum was not meaningful to me. We spent too much time there and little to none at the Museum of Archeology.

Andrea B, Jul 2016
Good city tour, but a shame that most sights were closed on a Monday therefore we couldn't go inside. Still nice to see them from the outside though and the guide was knowledgeable enough. If you have time and flexibility in your trip I'd recommended this tour supplemented with extra time at your favourite spots if you can make it work.

Elizabeth P, Jun 2016
This tour was terrible. Most of the time you are in the tour bus. When you get to the attraction sites you stay there for 10 and then you have to get back. This tour does not drop you back off to your hotel. The attraction sites were already free for tourists. Not worth the money at all.

Bernard L, May 2016
We had some major issues with the entire tour. The issues mainly caused by poor communication by the local tour company, forgetting to pick us up at the meeting point as specified to us, and incorrect phone number provided by Viator on the tour information. Starting from the beginning, we signed up for the morning tour. Before arriving Lisbon, I checked with Viator for the tour meeting place for free hotel pickup. Viator forwarded the address to us and it was all good until we were waiting for the pickup at the specified address/hotel. It was a different hotel than we stayed and we were fine with that. When we got there before the specified time, we waited and passed the meeting time. I went to find a payphone to call the phone number provided by Viator on the tour information for the local tour company. I kept calling that number and kept getting a recorded Portuguese message which I did not understand. After a few times, I decided to check the Viator tour information for another way to contact the local tour company. I saw an emergency number for them and managed to talk to the tour company. We were given a second chance to go to the tour in the afternoon. The first number that I tried was wrong. Viator should validate its information. After missing the morning tour, we did not want to miss again in the afternoon. We decided to be at the meeting place half an hour earlier. This time we almost missed the tour company pickup. When waiting there and not seeing anyone to pick us up, I decided to call again and the person on the phone said someone should be there to pick us up. I went back to the meeting place and then learned that the person in charge of rounding up the tour members was looking for us inside the hotel. That was not the hotel that we stayed. We had been waiting outside the hotel and by the road. That person did not even see us or stop to identify herself to us until I went back from making my phone call. I saw her talking with my wife. Fix it.

Only had 1 day in Lisbon and this was an excellent way to see some great sights in short time. The guide was very knowledgeable. Since it was raining some at the end of the tour, they dropped us at our hotels.
