Our driver apparently overslept. I had to call and get another driver sent (almost 30 minutes later). Second driver was great!
We booked the Mendenhall Glacier excursion for 13 people. The service you contracted with for this excursion had poor communication. There was no phone number to reach them.
We scheduled a 2pm pickup. Received a message a couple of days before arriving Juneau they had to push back to 2:30pm, which was still OK but pushing up against activities other group members had scheduled. On the day we arrived, we got a phone call from the driver saying his van had broken down and he was trying to get a replacement and would be 15-20 minutes, which was now a time conflict problem. Tried to Google the service's phone number to call driver's main office but couldn't find one. They did not have an online presence. That got us a bit worried. Driver finally showed up at 3:05pm with a van that could only fit 8. Was told his dispatcher is sending a cab to pick up the rest of us. I got the dispatcher's name and phone number from the driver to call and confirm and was greeted gruffly saying the cab was almost there: she sounded harried and impatient. Cab showed up and driver asked for how he was going to be paid 3 times even though I told him the dispatch company was paying him! He was not happy.
To his credit, the van driver did his best to rectify the situation. He came back to the Glacier early to pick up members of our group who had a time conflict. He then came back, with the cab driver to pick the rest of the group up at 5pm.
The whole excursion felt rushed and chaotic and we definitely did not feel we got our money's worth. We booked what we thought was a 2.5 to 3 hour excursion. What we got was less than 2 hours for some. As it turned out, some group members felt it might have been better to just get a couple of cabs ourselves and it would been a lot cheaper.
Sorry, not recommended unless the service you contract with has a legitimate contact person/phone number. I felt I was dealing with a couple of people, working out of their homes, doing this as a side business and doing a bad job at that.
Our driver, Joshua, was excellent. He meet us exactly when he said he would, and was a pleasure to chat with along the way. It made it very easy for our family of four adults and an infant to travel to Mendenhall Glacier. He even hung onto our car seat for us until we needed it for our return trip.
Excellent! Joshua was both very courteous and friendly. Very knowledgeable about local history and must see sites.

Easy round trip transportation to the Mendenhall Glacier, especially if you have a large group. Our driver was friendly and gave us some tips for the glacier and salmon run walk. And gave us a glimpse of life in Alaska too.

Highly recommend this private shuttle option over cruise line sponsored excursions for groups. Our family of 13 got a private van all to ourselves instead of riding in a big bus with a whole tour group at a fraction of the cost. We were able to arrange our trip to start a half hour before the cruise excursion so we beat the crowd. Josh was an excellent driver and was so flexible and accommodating. He picked us up right at the dock and dropped us off in the parking lot at the Mendenhall visitor center. He was very flexible with the amount of time we had at the glacier and just told us to call him when we were ready to go. He also offered to drop us off in town as we wanted to spend time in Juneau before going back to the ship.
Our driver Matthew was great, providing insights and being able to adjust where we went due to our interests.

Matthew was great! He picked us up early and told us all about the different things on the way to the glacier - told us about all the good local places to shop/eat. He was right on time for pick up and it was great to not have to worry about missing a crowded bus to get back to our cruise ship.
We requested an accessible van for the ride from the cruise terminal to Mendenhall glacier. There was a miss-communication between the driver and the company so we did not have an accessible van for the ride up. They said they could bring an accessible van but we made it work. The van was accessible on the way back to the cruise terminal. The driver also showed us a couple of interesting areas along the route. Overall it all worked out and everyone was very accommodating.
Fun and informative. A ride to the end of the road, passing by sightseeing stops of the glacier. Stop in the middle for a light hike through the forest, with a ton of interesting facts. My 12 year old and teenagers loved the entire time. Shout out to Phoenix and Kyler, great guides
The glacier was beautiful. Our driver was amazing and very friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Not so good . It is too expensive as a to and fro ride which we were not informed and it was advertized as the taxi is private tour and it will be at yr disposal for 2:30 hrs.it is not they say they will drop u and after that they will pick drop other people and u must stay at visitor center u like it or not until pick u up after 2:30 hrs from start point. The driver came late and was blaming the traffic which i do not believe was true. Very unfriendly behavior. We have to call the help center to fet an early ride which they arranged after too mich hassle. Lucklily the other drover Pete was personally good enough and friedly and helped . Otherwise it was a total waste of money. $300 for to and fro taxi. uber would have been far far cheaper. Will never recommend and. Ask viator to have clear instructions in description. Very bad experience. Wasted my money

Nothing out of the ordinary, the bus will pick you and will drive by 1 hour, locky if you see one bear.

The ride was great. Josh was an awesome guide, helpful, and accommodating.
However, $60 per person is a bit much!
We traveled with Josh who was awesome. Even though this was “transportation and not a tour” - I couldn’t tell the difference he was so enjoyable and knowledgeable. Was early to our ship with great communication, and dropped us where requested after visiting the glacier. Would recommend
I didn't find out the time of our excursion till the day of the excursion. I did not have wifi on the ship which would have helped with communication to plan a time frame. We were a party of six including a child. This excursion worked for us as we didn't have to worry about parking, less expensive than the cruise line tour and our guide gave us helpful and interesting info. Joshua was helpful and kept in communication for pick up. He also stopped at the hatchery and we saw salmon and a seal.
Super easy way to get to the glacier! Especially with a group of 12. Nice to have our own van. Happy

It’s basically just a ride to and from the Mendenhall glacier Park. There was no water or snacks provided.
We loved our driver. He was fun to talk with and made the 25 minute drive seem very short. It’s a nice way to get to the visitor center and to see Nugget Fall. Also they had an 8 passenger van perfect for group of 7.
This tour was fantastic. Kai used his local knowledge to show us the best of Juneau. He was an amazing driver and guide. We saw more than originally planned and his stories gave us insight into living in Juneau.

My group of six were able to get to Mendenhall before the hundreds of people who left the ship at the same time as us but chose the city bus option. They were walking in while we were walking out. Josh drove and picked us up at the agreed upon time. He also pointed out a trio of bears along the roadside.Goo

In town a few steps away from the pier. We were driven to the Mendenhall Glacier and we were on our own time frame and didn’t have to go with a large group. Picked us up and dropped us off right back into town. Well worth the money !
Great communication with the drivers. Friendly and informative drivers. They gave us two hours to stay at the Mendenhall glacier which was a perfect amount of time.
