What an adventure with a BEST company!
The Mendenhall Glacier Ice Adventure Tour with Liquid Alaska was nothing short of amazing! Our tour guides, Courtland and Tor made the day trip so much fun! We were well informed during the safety briefing. We got a thorough workout paddling, albeit with plenty of breaks to take in the beautiful scenery and rest our arms, shoulders and core. Had some great laughs along the way. It was absolutely worth the reward of getting up close to Nugget Falls and the Mendenhall Glacier. Closer than most of the other tours. We had the surprise finale of seeing a black bear along the beach while we were approaching the end of our tour. We highly recommend this particular tour, especially with Liquid Alaska. Our small group of 8 were mighty and we all felt like friends by the end of our day sipping hot chocolate and having some laughs. Thank you so much Courtland and Tor! (and a special message to Coutland’s mom: he is doing just fine! 😉)

Exciting Whale Watch morning
Excellent morning for whale watching we enjoyed hearing about the whales in Juneau from our naturalist Katelyn. We had a small group which gave each of us an opportunity to see and capture exciting pictures. Thank you to both our captain and Katelyn for a great whale watching adventure.

Fun Fun Fun + puppies
Such a cool experience! Not going to lie, if you don’t get the front seat… it may not be AS fun! The dogs love running. The staff make sure each dog is happy and wants to run before each ride. If the dog isn’t feeling it, they don’t force them to run. Plenty of time to play with the puppies! Everyone on our bus (20 people) had time to hold multiple different puppies. Our musher was great. The staff who met us at the base of Mount Roberts was not pleasant. She played on her phone and was annoyed to answer questions, however we did not see her after the start.

Alaska Tales runs a great tour. Knowledgeable staff.
Amazing whale watching experience. The whales were “bubble net feeding “ which is a rare phenomenon to witness and we also saw a whale breaching! Captain Larry and crew were excellent! The Mendenhall Glacier was quite interesting. But the whales were the highlight!

Wonderful day with Carley and Allie!
This turned out to be one of our favorite experiences in Alaska. Carley & Allie made it exceptionally interesting and enjoyable. They were very knowledgeable on the area and were excited to share. Thank you Carley and Allie for such a wonderful experience, we will always remember our walk in the rain forest. 🌳

Dogman and Uncle Ted were so entertaining and created a delightful experience for us as we got close to Mendenhall glacier and Nugget Falls! We felt very safe with them! Canoeing can be strenuous but they gave us lots of breaks! Would definitely recommend!

Go Ahead & Book This - You won't be disappointed
This is a once in a lifetime experience! Once on top of the glacier, it does get cold especially if it rains. I was glad we hat waterproof clothes, hats, and gloves (although I would have like warmer gloves.). The vendor provides waterproof coverings for your shoes (we wore gym shoes) and has a heavier coat if you need one. The helicopter ride was so relaxing with amazing views. We loved the musher camp, dogs and ride. It felt like we were in Antarctica! Everyone was so friendly and explained the process well.

Water Rafting For The First Time
We really enjoyed the excursion. This was our first time doing water rafting especially with Cristian. He was a really good tour guide and very funny. We saw bald eagles and even a seal in the water bobbing up and down. He even gave us some insights what it was like to staying in Juneau even though he only worked there in the summer. Hope to see him in Colorado when we visit.

Great experience
From the pickup on the to the drop off point, this was a magical experience. I stayed in town and wanted to do something different. This was so much fun. I was alone and it was a fun way to see the glacier up close. Mary our bus driver was beyond amazing and deserves a raise, she was the best bus driver ever. Mary gave all sorts of fun facts about the town, flora and fauna. She also took us on a different route home to see different parts of the town.
The tour itself was so much fun. I didn’t think it was a big workout, I felt fine rowing the e tire time. The glacier was so so beautiful up close. I loved it so much. We also stopped at Nugget falls on the way back and had some awesome snacks (cheese, salami, celery). Out tour guide, Oliver, was knowledgeable on the geology and plants of the area and answered everyone’s questions. We even got a rainbow at the end! Great job :)

A Bucket List Item to not forget
Topnotch, from pick-up to drop-off. Everything was carefully executed and staff were very professional. The entire experience was awesome. To the fitting for glacier shoes, to the safety briefing, and off standing in the queue for boarding the helicopter. The ride was smooth and the ability for the pilot to choose his special spot landing, you felt like you were a rock star. The beauty was unbelievable and a once in a life time experience.

Amazing views, birds, seals, and a patient guide.
We had an amazing trip. 8 of us - 4 adults and 4 children (5-16yrs) and we all had a wonderful time. The weather was perfect with far more visible mountain tops than usual. Seals popped up right next to my niece and brother-in-law's kayak! Our guide was very patient with us being a bit slower to get suited up in the provided rubber boots (wear socks!) and aprons for adults or waterproof overalls for kids and when the little kids wanted to have kayak races. We saw a lot of birds, seals, and of course, Mendenhall Glacier on the other side of the water. Since the glacier doesn't reach the fresh water lake anymore - see it close from a hike and do this kayaking/canoeing instead!

We absolutely loved our...
We absolutely loved our dog sledding/glacier adventure! The scenery was beautiful and our pilot made sure we saw all the interesting spots as we flew and during the glacier landing. Our team of sled dogs were so lovable (one didn’t want me to leave). We got the flash drive of us sledding, which included everyone’s picture who was sledding at the same time. It was $80. You could also buy the printed pictures for $30 (for one) and $50 (for two). During the glacier walk we filled a water bottle and dipped a necklace in the glacier water. This experience was definitely a once in a lifetime moment we will remember forever! (P.S. Don’t forget your gloves and warm layers).

Not seeing something you are looking for?
Think of Juneau as the opposite of Rome—no roads lead in or out of this Alaskan capital. That’s not a problem: Take advantage of the city’s island nature, skip the rental car, and hit the skies. Juneau helicopter tours are the most thrilling way to see this rugged slice of Alaska, and in many cases, they’re the only way. You’ll see the roadless backcountry, spy on glaciers, hover over islands, and more. If one thing is sure, helicopter tours in Juneau prove no US capital can compare in ruggedness, wildness, or beauty.
