D provides a good history of the city in addition to taking you to multiple culinary delights. There is not a lot of walking, so don’t let that scare you the empanada and pizza with the highlights of the trip.

Michael took the time to explain things like the food we were being served along with the history of the venue and the city. He asked questions of the group and took notes about where we were from and what kinds of food we liked. All five of the stops were very good. He even gave each individual group recommendations on places to go for our favorite foods. We will be going for bagels on Thursday morning.

Best way to see a portion of the city is to eat your way through it. We ate a variety of foods and just enough so that we were satisfied and not stuffed. Our guide, Barry Klassen, really knew his Denver history which was also a major plus. Later that week we went back to Ultreia had dinner and bought Pastel de nata.

I’ve been to countless food tours around the world and this one was probably the least impressive. It was 4th of July so maybe they assigned back-up tour guides but based on the reviews I was expecting a lot more information/history from the guided food and walking tours. Dee was our tour guide and although she is a nice person, she really didn’t say much about the food we were eating.
With the exception of the slice of pizza, the food was not good. Understand that the tour is limited to the downtown area but perhaps a larger radius should be included because the places we were taken to were not memorable in any way. The Colorado chile was the biggest disappointment- there was no meat in it. The pork belly taco was even worse.
Although no one said it our group didn’t seem impressed.
